[Completed] Simultaneous voice and data on verizon Note 5 - XDA Assist

I searched this but was unable to find any matching scenario. This is typical CDMA carrier's simultaneous voice and data issue. The phone (Galaxy Note 5) was bough from Verizon and gets 4glte fine when on Verizon SIM card... even simultaneously. I wanted to use the phone with a AT&T sim and after changing APN settings it does work fine, but NO simultaneous voice and data. When I make a call the 4glte signal on the top status bar changes to 1x and there is no data. Once the call ends it switches to 4glte. I have activated Advanced calling with Ver sim card on and when the ATT sim is in it does show HD calling enabled. So what's wrong with the device?? Did anyone face same issue ? Any suggestion will be greatly APPRECIATED. btw I am w/o any contract plan with Verizon

Sprint Galaxy S8 - is phone and web at same time possible?

Does Rooting allow phone calls and web browsing at the same time on Sprint Galaxy S8 ? Is the phone capable of this. Does it have enough/the right radios?
No, current Sprint phones do not call and data simultaneously over 3G or LTE, including the S8. Rooting has nothing to do with it.
please explain
OK, you say rooting has nothing to do with it. How does an Samsung phone on Sprint prevent concurrent data and voice on LTE when Samsung phone on Verizon allows concurrent data and voice.
It has to be hardware or software on the phone or the network that prevents this.
Is the hardware inside the phone the same which suggests to me the phone's functionality is "throttled" by the phone software or by the network itself, hence my question about whether this can be overcome via rooting the phone.
You apparently can get free hotspot through root, why not call + data?? If you can't I'll accept the reality (I am not looking for alternative facts), just that your answer was insufficient to persuade me that my logic is wrong.
Thanks,
Paul S

Sprint doesn't have voice over LTE ....yet. Apparently they are working on software solutions to whatever their network issues are. Found this post from about a month ago on the sprint community site.
Sprint is excited to announce a new solution which allows customers to use voice and data simultaneously while on the Sprint LTE network or WiFi. Calling PLUS has just been enabled on the Samsung J7 Perx, with more devices to receive the update soon!
What you need to know:
Calling PLUS combines two features: one old and one brand new!
WiFi calling - our VoIP calling feature that lets you make and receive calls over WiFi
Voice and text on the Sprint LTE network, allowing simultaneous voice and data
Calling PLUS is delivered to your device by software update. Once your device has received the software, set up is easy!
On the phone, select Settings > Calling PLUS.
Slide Calling PLUS to On.
Customer can view Tutorial pages to learn more information about the service.
View pre-populated address
If the Country field says Non-USA, Select the Country and choose USA.
Enter a USA address manually.
If address is not shown or is incorrect, enter the address manually.
Address must be within the USA.
Select Save.
Your phone will validate the address required for E911 service and completes the enablement of Calling PLUS.
Select Calling PLUS options to enable each feature:
Wi-Fi Calling is On by default.
LTE Calling is optional but recommended to allow both Simultaneous Voice and Data and call handoffs between Wi-Fi Calling and LTE Calling.
Call handoffs will go from Wi-Fi to LTE even if the LTE Calling switch is Off. LTE Calls require the Wi-Fi Calling switch to be turned On for a handoff to Wi-Fi.
That's it! Your phone is now enabled for Calling PLUS. You can call anyone using Calling PLUS, the person or party that you're calling does not need to have Calling PLUS in order for it to work.
Keep in mind:
Calling PLUS is included free of charge with your Sprint plan, though data usage does count toward any metered data allotment.
Calling PLUS is a only available to select devices at this time and only in areas with LTE service. We will add more device models over time.
Calling PLUS is not a VoLTE solution and call quality can vary based on location and network conditions.
Calling PLUS is only supported on the Sprint LTE network and will not work over roaming partner networks.
Calls initiated while on LTE will not hand off to CDMA towers. When leaving an LTE area, such a call may drop.
Have questions about Calling plus? Ask us here! Have you received the update on your device? Tell us how it's working for you so far.

Note Edge 915T Wont let me call while on LTE - Help needed :(

Hello all..
I have this issue with my Note Edge 915T (T-Mobile Variant). It is unlocked and I use it in Venezuela with Digitel (LTE BAND 3: 1800) and the phone DOES connect to LTE with no issues (I get the 4G/LTE icon), and I can browse with no problems, but no one can call me, nor can I make any calls or text. In other phones, when I call, data drops and I can call and when I finish, data comes back up. HEre, LTE stays up and my call does not get through. Then after some tries, it drops to EDGE and won't pick up LTE until I reboot or something.
If I try a different operator, it goes to HDSPA (3.5G) and I get voice and data (data drops while calling, but it ir normal), but I want to use my operator with LTE.
Im running MM and I deactivated VoLTE as my carrier does not support it, but is there something else I'm missing?
This may sound stupid, but have you set your APNs? You can also try resetting your network. Dial ##72786#. Also Does your carrier require any certain apps. Example FreedomPop requires a specific app for getting/making calls, as they are mainly VOIP MVNO...

Hi! thank you but yes, the APNs are perfect, I can use Data, the issue is that I cant call as the data signal stays in 4G/LTE and with my carrier, when calling, it drops data signal and it calls, here I can't. Im starting to think it has to do with CSC being with TMO, and I should use another one either from my country or a general One (BTU) for example. Will try to flash a rom from a different carrier to see if it works.
The only other option might be *#BAND# (2263),which could be dangerous, if you do not note original settings. Sometimes a complete ODIN can restore.
I normally use Nova Launcher - Widget- Activities- Somewhere under phone or settings. Shortcut Called PhoneInfo or DeviceInfo, which is much safer&consistently works! The app w/ same name no longer works. It took me forever & I always export my desktop, so I have that shortcut. The last option is an app called Samsung Phone Info+, but is paid or free if u know.... I really hate paid apps. It has under menu secret codes as well.

Dual sims & data problem

Did anyone have dual sim problem? Mine was working, but recently if I use one sim to make/answer call, the other disabled. The other icon show hourglass icon, and data connect lost.
I have Tmobile 4G & ATT GSM.
Data goes TMO.

Dual SIM VoLTE Verizon and Fi

Hi all,
Here is my situation and problem. I have 2 Sims:
SIM 1: Google Fi - my personal number, I want to use it for phone calls only even though it has a small data lan
SIM 2: Verizon - work sim, I want all the data to go through here.
My setting is phone call sim 1 and data Sim 2.
When I make a phone call via SIM1, I lost LTE on my SIM2.
I did call Verizon to get the CDMA LESS feature turned on.
If I were to change the setting to phone call and data through the same sim, then VoLTE works just fine. So I think this is an issue with the phone itself/settings.
Thoughts?

You need to go into settings "SIM & network settings".
Select "Dual 4G networks".
I don't have your issue.

Can't believe there are so few of us having this issue. Why would the LTE turn off when I'm not even using that sim?
Probably many are using just a single SIM.
Have you tried switching the sims in the slots?

I have no help. In January Mint had an issue where their SIM had to be in slot 1. So I flipped SIMs. Truphone won't work either.

Question Using Internet while on phone call..

Has anyone else had a problem using the internet while on a phone call? I just switched from the s22 ultra which had no problem in this department.
Is there anyone else experiencing this problem Or is this normal for the pixel?
Do you try to active VoLTE ?
For that you need VoLTE activated. And it is not supported in every country. In order to enable it you need to root your device. I am still searching for fully tested and functional mod for P7P.
Pixel is weird compared to what I was used to from Oneplus. Having 2 Sims in where the physical Sim is for calls and Sms and the eSim for data. When on a call (on phys. Sim) I don't have a data connection on the eSim anymore. When I check "use data during calls" on the physical Sim, as soon as I'm in a call the data card changes from eSim to physical Sim and Internet is available. As soon as I hang up, data connection is transferred back to eSim.
Unfortunately the check box for " use data during calls" is not available for the eSim, also both are provisioned as VOLTE.... Never had such problem with OnePlus, there data stayed on 2nd Sim when I was on a call on first one....

It should still work with UMTS/HSPA if your network has this "3g" network type available, but relatively slow.
You need to upgrade from dial-up to talk on the phone and to have Internet access at the same time.
Big sarcasm here is anyone didn't notice, haha =)
