[Q] [Edited Question]Stuck in Bootanimation D2303[Q] - Sony Xperia M2

Hi M2 users.
Background:
I Have an xperia M2(single sim) from a friend. Already flashed D2303/D2305/D2306 but cant boot into system. D2303 firmware stucks on bootanimation.
The bootloader of the device is locked that's why I cant flash a custom boot.img.
Now stuck in bootanimation wave using D2303 18.3.1C.1.16... Can someone tell me what is wrong? Thanks
Questions:
1.) Is there a way to check the IMEI in fastboot or flashmode?
Need your help here guys. Thank you.
Previous question:

You will not suck in bootloop only a model mismatch error message comes but the rom will boot

thanks for the quick reply. my problem right now is that i cant boot this phone. will try to flash different firmware and i home i can find a working one.

You shouldn't flash dual sim ftf on single sim phone. Download the latest version of sonys pcc and perform a software repair. If you still have flashmode and fastboot device is recoverable

can you please help me interpret the line from flashtool below from D2305? I also attach the D2305 and D2303 flashtool log as reference.
flashing D2305 will result to a mismatch error dung boot and it says its an LTE_eagle and eagle_ss(single sim).

Yeah you got the wrong firmware for the D2303 model you flashed d2305 or 06 if your phone is a D2303 model them only flash the firmware from that model. Only model you can get away with on is the d2403 aqua as it's identical to the D2303 more or less

Thanks for the info. By the way, tried to repaired it using pc companion with 18.3.1.C.1.17 . Process is successful but the result stucked in bootanimation, t is pretty wierd.
Is there a software that can log the error behind the stucked boot animation?
Based on its flashtool logs, it says, "processing emmc_appsbootPLATFORM-MSM8226"... D2303 is MSM8926 right? Correct me if i am wrong here or i hope someone can take the log of D2303 in flashtool.

Did you check something to be excluded? Try flashing whole ftf without excluding anything, but first flash only kernel and see if it's booting. And try with older version of Flashtool.
Good Luck.

I'll do that later, Thanks for the suggestion.
I already used an old version of flashtool and also tried the latest version of it. and I already tried to flashed the whole ftf file and still unsuccessful.
During boot up, i tried to plugged it on the pc and the MTP usb driver failed to install. Is it possible that it could be an internal/hardware problem?

You need to instal from "C:\Flashtool\drivers" Flashtool-drivers.exe Flashmode and Fastboot drivers. And if you're on Win 8.1 you need to disable signature verification. Then hold volume - and connect usb (to see if its working) disconnect phone, load ftf, when pop up shows up connect phone.
Good Luck.

Or power Off the phone then hold vol up whilst connecting to the usb it'll install the fastboot driver. Then repeat with vol down it will install flashmode driver.

I already excluded the TA during ftf creation in flashtool. I waited to finish the bootanimation until the battery was drained and still unable to get put of the wave..
During boot up I connected it on my pc but MTP Usb DEvice driver FAILED to install,,

Tried what you suggested but ended up on bootanimation only. Can't think of any solution for now. Unlocking its bootloader and flash a ROM maybe one of the solution but I cant read its IMEI.

Have you tried flashing ftf without leaving anything out I.e. Ta and wipe the cache and data when flashing you don't need to leave ta out as flashtool does it for you I've never unticked it whilst flashing never had a problem. Also try with a different region ftf you never know it may be corrupted. I always wipe the device clean unless flashing a pre rooted zip

Better use Sony PC companion to repair it and if you want to know imei number then take out the tray under sim card slot

thank you very much. now i know the IMEI, now i have new options.. thanks

Im Struggling with the same problem here.
I've tried far too many different FTF, Custom ROM (AOSP, Cyanogenmod etc.) and tried to load different boot images but it seems nothing works perfectly. Also tried to repair with Emma and PC Companion. Only one ROM has worked for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/development/rom-pac-beta-1-t3007316
For some unknown reason this is the only rom which has made through startup screen (wave, or what ever it is in the ROM). It just doesnt work right. Popup window in phone tells something crashed or couldn't be loaded.
Phone USB-debugging is set OFF and i cant get to switch it for installing PhilZ touch recovery and it wont install when i use Pacman rom.
This M2 (D2303) did get wet and after that it haven't been able to start so i've started to think the problem is in HW, but i can't be sure since i can find so many of these wave screen problems that i might actually have a chance to get it work...

What kind of error in the PC Companion, because I updated my J succesfully through this method.

The progress bar stays at about 50% and just as in the flashtool the green light turns off, after a while (the bar is in 50%) the error appears.
The error is error 100, I have searched about it but nothing that is mentioned in the forums that could fix this error has worked.
My xperia is not unbranded (I want to do that)
Tried reinstalling several times SEUS and PC C.
I don´t have another laptop to try.
The green light is suppose too turn off after flashing starts my j dose it every time

Didn't know that anyways the point is that I can't flash my device, I have restore to factory setting several times and nothing works :/
I keep trying with SEUS.
EDIT:
Today I tried to flash without the SD card and the SIM, It worked BUT my device is not debranded is like that I'm flashing but not flashing, I mean applications from my cell phone company keep appearing like I was just resetting to factory values.
What's now wrong?
EDIT2:
FINALLY!!!! I debranded my Xperia J!!
The only thing I did was to flash as usual but firstly I removed the sim card, that's what made the difference. Now I have Jelly Bean, thanks anyway for your time I hope someone else could fix any problem with what worked for me
SOLVED!

Ok guys i made it. For you my friend you should download the Xperia J Driver from here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1546091&d=1354951082
and the firmware 11.0.A.7.5 (search it on the net)
Now follow my steps so flashtool can detect your xperia J.
1)Install Flashtool then extract Xperia J Driver (ST26.rar) and copy the ST26.ftd file to c:\Flashtool\devices\
2)Open Flashtool , i assume that you already installed Sony companion software to your PC, so that Flashtool can detect your phone. Go to devices>import and choose Xperia J, wait import to success
3)Enable debugging mode on your phone (Setting>developer options) & enable unknown sources (Setting>security)
4)Connect your phone with usb, and if prompt to select your device, select Xperia J
5)Click Flash icon (looks like thunder) and choose flashmode
6)Then browse the folder where you save the Old firmware (.ftf) file (Make sure you put Old and New firmware in different files). Flashtool will automatically scan files inside the firmware.
7)Click OK
AND Now follow my next step to root your phone..
Tool to download:UnlockRoot (May not compatible with Windows 8) - search it on the net as i can't post links.
1)Make sure you have Sony PC companion installed. Extract unlockroot.rar and run unlockroot.exe as administrator
2)Enable debugging mode on your phone (Setting>developer options) & enable unknown sources (Setting>security) then connect your phone
3)Wait until your phone detected, then click Root button. Wait until finish and follow instruction to reboot.
4)Holla! Your phone rooted now!
VERY SIMPLE AND NO FAILURES!!!!:good:
ONE MORE LAST THING!!!
I update my phone after root to the last firmware by OTA and intalled succesfully without losing any of my data and the root. BUT UPDATE ONLY BY OTA (From the phones menu and not by SEUS or PC COMPANION - That means OTA - ''Over The Air'')
I can't install properly the cwm. It's full of bugs and when i am booting in cwm the first time i have resolution screen problems. And after i press ''reboot system now'' my phone is not responding. So i had to install again the rom via flashtool. All these are hapening in ST26i_11.0.A.7.5_CE rom. Anyone has the same problem? I need the cwm

I read that you can't have cwm installed when you are on .75 firmware or the latest one.
So you must have .18 or .28 rooted firmwares to have cwm and working great.
So you must downgrade your Xperia j to these 2 firmwares via flashtool if you want fully support of cwm.
Can't even flash
Can someone please explain to me what i'm doing wrong?
I'm a noob and just trying to flash xperia j at the moment...

You must add the Xperia j drivers into flashtool.unfortunately flashtool is coming with no Xperia j support and you must do this manually. Is not so difficult.search my post #15 in this thread for howw is working.if you have problems send me a pm.

(Xperia J) Can't flash in flash mode

Hello, first of all sorry for my english.
Yesterday I flashed my Xperia J with FXP223, everything was ok except that I have no network, and my IMEI was gone.
I've found that I have to flash my phone with an ICS stock rom and reflash with FXP223.
But i can't flash my phone in flash mode.
I followed all instructions, Flashtool -> flash mode -> select .ftf rom -> plug my phone in flash mode when asked, green led is OK -> and then the flash freeze at "Flashing data" and at the same time my green led shutdown.
Code:

Flashtool-drivers.exe doesn't have drivers for Xperia J, I've tested to manually import J drivers with that method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41592930&postcount=15 but doesn't work too.
Sony companion recognize my phone (when I test to recover my phone it says that my phone has been modified, but it recognize the phone)
I don't know what to do

Did you install the fastboot and flashmode drives from the setup as you may need them too. I think it would be worth it to install all of the drivers from the driver setup folder. If you try that and then that method after I think it should work.
OMFG
After hours and hours of research and test, it finally works !!! (on the 4th PC )
Certainly drivers conflict or something like that.
If someone have the same problem :
Install only Flashtool v0.9.10.1
Install flashmode drivers with Flashtool-drivers.exe
Launch it.
Import ST26 drivers in flashtool (search ST26.zip on google)
Connect the Xperia J in flashmode to automatically install the windows drivers.
When complete disconnect the Xperia J.
In Flashtool -> flashmode -> select a stock .ftf rom -> flash -> connect the xperia in flashmode when asked. Yeah it flash.
I insist that on this PC, I have never installed SEUS, PC companion or others software or drivers.
(For those who want, I flashed with an ICS stock rom then FXP218, now all works)
Thank you gamer649 for trying to help me

It is good to hear you got it working. I've just noticed you previously said you tried to repair your phone in PC companion. That would have stopped it working too. I'm sorry I didn't pick that up sooner.
tried all of that but no luck when i press on the thunder icon it says wait for flash

Remove SIM Card, MMC & then flash! Also, note that sometimes flashing doesn't work after you resume from Standby/Hibernate mode in PC.

I understand you are new to these, but it's the only way to bring back your phone
In a simple way,Flashtool can relock your bootloader and let you to reset your phone by software provided by SONY(PC Comantion or Update Service, something like that)
Since these tool need a bootloader locked device
Still,if you want to directlly use CM10...etc,I still suggests you to reset your phone first

@prasath kp: Try so:
Download Flashtool
Install drivers (C:\Flashtool\drivers\) of your devices + flashmode + fastboot mode
Reboot your computer
Download a ftf from here = 11.0.A.7.5 - 11.2.A.0.21 - 11.2.A.0.31
Copy it to C:\Flashtool\firmwares\
Open Flashtool
Click ϟ
Select Flashmode
Select downloaded firmware
Turn off the phone
When prompted connect the phone in Flashmode (USB + Vol down) >> it's the combination of Xperia E, I don't know if it work also for Xperia J
Wait
If you get an error when it flash the loader.sin, try to reflash the firmware
When it have ended, disconnect your phone
Boot your phone
:fingers-crossed:
thanks

I don't have Xperia E,but in Xperia J,when we flash rom,we need to downgrade the system to stock 4.0 first,
you might want to google it or you just post a new thread
flash the whole ftf using latest flashtool

[Completed] Xperia M C1905 Flashtool Flashing But Nothing Happens

So I have a Xperia M C1905 nicki.
Just unlocked the bootloader, but got into a bootloop, which I knew was going to happen,
I installed TWRP, and tried to reflash the stock ftf:

And basically nothing happens...
I did a factory reset. After that tried to flash .zip stock 4.3 rom and got the error from TWRP:
E: Error executing updater binary in *insert .zip name here*
Did a bit of research and found that I need to flash the firmware to fix that, and since I can't do that through flashtool for some reason, I wanted to ask if someone has the solution or can help me with this problem (My phone is like a brick with twrp and being able to go in to fastboot/flashmode)?
Thanks for your time spent reading this.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry to hear about your trouble but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Sony Xperia M at http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.
Good luck!

I'm having the same problem, but I can't solve it.
I had a backup of the Oreo system (.192), I restored it and booted into the system, after that the phone was again defined as F8331 in flashtool. If there was no backup, I don’t know how else it could be fixed. I think this post can help https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...eria-xz-gcam-eol.4156897/page-3#post-83631729
