AT&T H810 software H81010g - AT&T LG G4

I have seen root is now available for that H810. My software version is H81010g. Is root possible with my phone yet?

Yea check the root thread in the general lg g4 thread.

I need help! LGG4
I have Software Version. H81010I
I was unaware if a root exploit to unlock bootloader and also to root my phone
was available for my phone yet. I also would prefer a different flashing utility than TWRP.
I dont like it when I used it with my Optimus G.
Thanks in advance.

Right now there is no TWRP for the AT&T variant. Also can you pull your system.img of your stock 10I software? To do that do this:
1. Download these drivers
2. Download the root tools (make sure you mouse over the download button and the bottom of your browser says LG_Root.zip)
3. On this page follow steps 1,2,3,6,7,8,and 9 ONLY also make sure you run the ports.bat and are using the port that says DIAG
4. Then run this command
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 bs=8192 skip=65536 count=579584 of=/data/media/0/system.img
5. When the command prompt returns to # type LEAVE to reboot your phone. Has to be in all caps.
6. On you computer navigate to your phones internal storage and you will see a file called system.img. Upload this to google drive.

Status: Root unsuccessful
I ran the script through cmd. I watched everything happening and I was unable to gain img or root. What do I do next?

If you followed my steps exactly as above then you shouldn't have root. there should be a file in your phones internal memory called system.img
If you don't have this try it again. when you issue the command
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 bs=8192 skip=65536 count=579584 of=/data/media/0/system.img
it should take 2-3 minutes to come back to the # sign. if it is instant then it didn't work. keep retrying until you get the system.img file.
When you get that and upload it I can root it for you then you can flash it to your phone.

Thanks.
It was able to create a system img for me. I can root it if you just let me know the steps. Should I not just follow all of the steps 1-10?

No, that is not how you root it. It needs to be rooted in a linux environment. that's why I asked you to upload, because it isn't a simple process to root.

New OTA Update... Is this Lollipop?

I'm not in a position to where I can run this now. Has anyone else gotten this? Is it Lollipop?

Nope. Its D80120e-D80120g_update.
Is there any good updates, or is it just optimizing for T-mobile?
I semi bricked my d 801 had to flash the 20e kdz saw an update available and thought the same thing, is this lollipop? Took the ota realized it wasnt, try to reroot using towel root and install recovery with autorec and it was a no go had to use lg flash tool again to go back 20e just to root
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
Now I cannot get my phone to update to 20g it said 20e is up to date. Why?
So if you're STOCK but rooted with custom recovery and you take this update is it going to soft brick the device or will it just unroot you and be okay?
It will soft brick if you do OTA via phone with 3rd party recovery, it will unroot you if you do it via the pc lg suite
Software, from my past experiences.
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Premium HD app
If you bricked your phone trying to apply this, the fix is simple if you have TWRP or some recovery that gives you adb shell access.
Just run the following. It will clear out the OTA.
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
Please help
Hey, im definetly new to this but a couple months ago my friend convinced me to root my phone. I used towelroot and I got rooted.
I also got this update and I thought it would be fine to get it. It messed my root up. I factory reset my phone because I couldnt connect to a seperate gmail and play store
I really need help but I really dont know anything about TWRP and recovery stuff , all I had was towelroot, root checker, super su, and freedom. My friend obviously didnt tell me to get anything else.
I cant connect my gmail on startup or anything else, I tried to change a etc/hosts file but I need root which I dont have. If anyone can help please do. I dont have data and my phone is locked other than I can get on wifi and I WAS able to download apps from play store... :crying::crying::crying::crying:
I don't have a link but you can Google stump root, it worked for me to re-root.
Here's the info about the update

[Q] Total Noob, trying to brick my phone

Hi everyone,
I am new to android mods. I just bought a used vzw M8 running 4.4.4. I unlocked and got S off using sunshine. Rooted with WS2, and verified. Installed SuperSU. Stock otherwise. I have installed the SDK on my laptop. I can't get any devices to show up when i use the adb devices command.
I am trying to figure out how to disable the OTA for Lollipop. Does anyone know if the OTA will re-lock or bypass my root? Can you help me disable if it is an issue?
Eventually, I'd like to go to a different (cleaned up) ROM and 5.X, but i need to make sure the evil red monster doesn't mess up my work first. I have spent several hours searching the forums, and have made some progress. If there are any detailed posts to point me to, I'd appreciate any and all help.
Thank you,
Dustin
Did you install the HTC drivers? If not install HTC sync manager (I think that's the name) and it'll install them for u then u can uninstall HTC sync manager and you should get adb to recognize your device. Ota will not relock your device. It will take off root tho. But you can just flash custom recovery and flash su in there. I'd suggest since your s off to flash dottats s off 5.0.1 ruu over in the development section once you get adb working. It is also pre rooted and will get up and running on lollipop.

Check this thread out for blocking the OTA http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/help/block-ota-updates-t2871520 It is also my understanding that just being rooted will cause the OTA to fail. I may be wrong about that, however.

I did install the drivers exactly the way you suggest. My computer recognizes the phone as a drive. I just can't get it to show up on ADB. Thank you for the suggestion on the ruu. I may just let the OTA come though today to get rid of the message. Then, run the ruu when I figure this out more.

Somethings just can't be explained. Check this out. I have to use my 6 year old laptop with AMD Phenom II x4 because my desktop Intel i5-3570 cant send sh1t to my phone. It's always something. After trying to figure it out for hours, I gave into the PC Gods. I'm sure Dottat could solve it in 2 mins or less.
I only post to let you know others share your frustration. Honestly, if I didn't have an unlimited data plan, I might not even bother with modding anymore. I will follow your post, waiting for a solution too.

Thank you, dottat. I have installed and re-installed the driver. My computer can see my phone, and pull it up as a disk drive. I can open the SDK and ADB. In the CMD window, when I type "adb devices", it starts the daemon successfully. Then, under list of devices, it is blank. Any ideas? Could i have downloaded the wrong SDK/ADB package and need to get yours? I'm really green with this software and Linux in general, so I may be missing something. I'm hoping I can get comms worked out and load your RUU file soon. Can I go ahead and take the 5.0 OTA without worry? I have root, s off, and BL unlock. SuperSU fails to update.

What Android version you running?
On 4.4.3 and over sunshine will s off and unlock bootloader together, but its a 50/50 chance. I personally used firewater and weaksauce but I was on 4.4.2 when I did it but VZW closed that exploit in 4.4.3.

With the update coming sometime in the near future, what does that mean for us with rooted phones? More specifically, us losers who are on the Puerto Rican rom.
I imagine if we update we lose root, but is there any way we can get back on the American AT&T H810 after the update comes out?
I just got the phone from Craig's list. When I got home and I did more research I realized I got screwed. They sold me the PR version of the phone. At least I got it for 280 unlocked and no scratches almost new.

Yikes sorry! Do you have the green spot issue in the camera? It's a decent rom save for that issue. Allows you to get rid of everything (bloatware). I've been dying to add xposed, but without being able to back anything up makes it a little iffy. AT&T seems to be the worst when it comes to allowing their devices to be unlocked.

If LG releases a KDZ for ATT you can. However, even those of us who are on att firmware can't take OTA updates after rooting (even if flashing an unrooted system img). LGs root checker tool flags the system on the /persist partition
This means that you will have to UN-Root your phone. Download & install the update. Put your phone into download mode. DD if=OS of=Backup.img
Then root that backup (Or get it from someone who posted it on an XDA Root site)
Once it is rooted, then DD if=RootedOS of=OS (Disk dump it back to the phone)
Now you have a rooted Marshmellow OS on your phone.

this is false. i was rooted on 10g, i unrooted and flashed stock system.img and took the update to 10o just fine.
you need to do a few things to prepare first
1) unfreeze any apps you may have frozen with debloater/titanium/greenify/etc
2) disable and uninstall any xposed modules
3) uninstall xposed (if you have it)
4) uninstall flashfire (if you have it)
5) uninstall any root apps (aside from supersu)
6) open supersu, uncheck "enable superuser" and then select full unroot, than reboot
7) download and flash the stock system.img for whatever firmware you are currently rooted on
8) now your unrooted and you may update via ota
this thread will help for flashing, just make sure you use the stock version of your current firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
you can find lots of system.img files and more tips here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/att-h810-update-8-31-v10i-t3190714

I re-rooted just to make sure everything was unfrozen etc, uninstalled everything, then flashed unrooted image back, still giving the error.
Guess i'll have to wait for another method.

Anyone knows how to get stock firmware for LG Escape 2 H443 5.1.1 ?

I used the 1 click root on this device and now it's bricked.
It seems that the stock firmware is not available, or at least I have not been able to find it.
Is there anyone who knows how to return this phone to stock?
Also, If I take this brand new (1 day old) back to AT&T and request an exchange due to the phone not working and being stuck at the logo, will they exchange it or test and find out it is rooted and bricked ? Am I out of luck? Suggestions?

I don't have access to the OS since it is stuck and that is an android app. I do have the imei and other info though, but I have searched everywhere for the firmware and it is not released for this device. Apparently it is an AT&T exclusive.
In any case here is the OS Version 5.1.1
and SW Version H44312g
I posted on another thread in which other users had the same issue and they seemed to resolve the problem, but it is not very clear to me how they did it and they are not very interested in helping either.
Sucks being without a phone.

Hi! Thanks for providing the link and replying.
I checked the IMEI and it returns the following:
Not Available: KDZ format firmware for print LG LS980 and ATT LG E980
THat is strange because this is an LG Escape and the LS980 is an LG G2 and the E980 is an LG Optimus G Pro.
In any case it seems that there really is no firmware available for this phone unfortunately.
I have a paper weight, if it wasn't for google hangouts on my computer, I would not have a phone at all.
Is there any other possible way?
I wonder if the guys on this thread can step up and chime in, but I have sent them private email and all to no avail : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gen...5-1-1-ota-failure-t3175001/page3#post63862368

Are you able to enter fastboot mode? Or adb during boot (sometime it launch during boot, even if the phone bootloop) ? If you are, maybe you can ask someone with the same phone to make a dumb of the system (with the command line and dd) and flash it using fastboot?
Or, if possible, use adb yourself to copy a dumb of your system to see what's wrong and maybe fix it and flash it again.
It's just some ideas, i can't promise you that should work .

Hi,
Could you please explain how can I enter fastboot mode? If fastboot is when you put it in download mode for firmware update, then yes. If it's something different, I have no idea how to get to that point.

Hi,
You should use a computer with the fastboot utility, you can find more explications here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277112
With a system.img from an other device you can use "fastboot flash system" and give the img as parameter (warning : it's very useful tool, but can brick your phone if wrong used, don't do this until you are confident enough with it).
To make a dumb of a system from an other device, you can use adb or a shell utility and do : "dd if=/dev/block/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system of=/storage/emulated/0/system.img" on the other device (need root) and copy the system.img to your computer.

I didn't see it before, but from on an other thread someone already made a dump of this device, in this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63076799&postcount=19 (the link : System.img, boot.bin, recovery.bin, from wingzeroismine). I assume you can try with it for your phone .
please somebody help me!

I am guessing that sending it in for LG to repair will not work? I wonder what would they do once they receive the phone, charge me to install the firmware?

more than likely, charge you for a new phone. if it was as easy as flashing some new firmware, we could do that, we have the tools they use.
when it wont come on, i dont know if they will just send it back, send you a new one with a bill, or call you to see what you want to do.
I got it to boot!!!
I have a potential fix for this problem however, xda rules won't let me post a link to the fix that I used. Maybe pm me for details.

Root/Unlock Bootloader/TWRP for Metro Stylo

Anyone have a link or instructions on how to root, unlock the Bootloader, and install custom recovery on the Metro varient running stock 6.0? Been searching around and can only find 5.1 and down instructions. Cant afford to brick.
from what i am reading, you should be able to use the same method that they used to root the tmobile 6.0 update found here http://androidforums.com/threads/guide-how-to-root-t-mobile-6-0-update.1008880/
i havent tried it myself yet, so if you have the courage please report back and let us know how it goes
edit i couldnt wait anymore...i kdz'd back to stock and im trying to force the ota to come through...will post back with results when i get it and attempt to root
Thank you for this link. This worked beautifully. i was able to get into TWRP and do a full backup and install Super SU. Yes, I'm using MS631 with Android 6.0 and now I can say I'm successfully rooted. This made my day being able to root the Stylo after the upgrade.
Encase you're unsure on how to gain access to a command line through Windows hold down shift key and right click the file. Should see the option to open command line and from then on follow the steps.

If you manually change your time to 11pm local time and then reboot your phone you should see the upgrade message in the system update section

It doesn't automatically reboot for me. So I don't think it matters as long as you unlock before rebooting.

That's right. That's what happened to me. The only ways to fix the problem is either by flashing a KDZ (with a computer), or send it to LG for repairs. Better safe than sorry.

nope. It happens to me too. I think you have to have Android SDK Tools installed on your PC alongside ADB for it to work, sadly

I did, it turns out, I had to install the appropriate drivers fro the Stylo MTP, then I had to install the appropriate ADB Drivers by updating to LGE Mobile ADB Drivers, then after that, I had to do "adb reboot-bootloader" and that booted it straight into the fastboot interface, but to no avail, I couldn't get fastboot to recognise the device, so I went into device manager, and I saw "(something)com bootloader interface", I expanded that, and saw Android Bootloader interface. So I updated the software, hit load from PC, and hit Android Bootloader Interface Version 9.0.0.0 instead of 11, and fastboot saw my phone
message me further if you need any help, if you want me to Teamspeak you so I can show you directly, I'll be glad to help you
