Hi, long time voyeur, first time poster.
There is an application i would like to modify for my own medical purposes. Admittedly, I know little about how to do it, and google has suggested way too many 'solutions'.
(Now that the fluff is done)
I'd like to modify a dice roller to change the range that they roll, for example: roll 10 D10's (displayed on the screen) however have it roll 7-10 range as opposed to the 1-10 range. I would like to use the DungeonZ dice calculator.
I will be more than happy to pay for the product or the help.
Thanks for any and all help.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Boy, that's really beyond the scope of XDA Assist. I wouldn't even know where to begin to help you. I would suggest you contact the app developer and see if they would be interested in helping you. Our mission at XDA Assist is to help users get help on their devices and point them in the right direction.

This is my first app so bare with me. This is an app for my blog about my struggles with combat PTSD and alcoholism. It is a free app. I am trying to get the word out about Soldiers and the struggles they return home too face. Just because they are home does not mean they are not still fighting a battle. Please check it out and give me feedback. I have been a member here for a while and have learned so much from this site so I figured I would post it on here. I did use a app creator site to design it but I am currently trying to learn to develop it from scratch. Thank you!

anyone?
Anyone here with an interest? No Soldiers here? I just need some feedback. I know I took the easy way with the app builder but I plan on learning sdk and eclipse. ADHD kills me when I try to learn lol
We've all had our turn in the barrel brother stay strong. Counseling and therapy helps trust me.. Once you get past the pride and seek help you will get much further and get past your demons. Trust me I did.

I have thats why I created the blog and app
Never been a soldier, not yet at least, but fully support your efforts. PTSD in vets is not really fully understood by the majority of civilians and there definitely need to be more positive outlets for those struggling. I would suggest perhaps also focusing on the families of vets suffering PTSD, addiction, etc. A strong support system clearly can help a lot and helping the family members understand it more might also be useful. In terms of just the app itself, you can tell its young but as you said you're learning so that's not a big deal. Just wanted to say keep up the good work and I appreciate everything you soldiers have done and continue to do.

Thank you. While the blog is my struggles I have a facebook page with my wife that will be used to help everyone who is effected.
Nice to see an app with a good cause!

Need a developer
My ability to concentrate is horrible so I am pretty sure its going to take me years to even make the simplest of apps from scratch. Plus I am a active duty Drill Sergeant so I have very little time. I wish Google wouldn't have quit supporting app inventor. Is anyone interested in helping me develop this app from the bottom up? There would be no profit. Any money made from ads or anything would go into a account I plan to establish once I can get registered as a non profit. I will be making nothing from this nor would whoever helped me. This app is purely for raising awareness and hopefully eventually raising money to go towards Veteran groups. If someone would want to help out please let me know. Thank you for considering.
Where you a DS at? I'm sure you can find some geek to put on CQ with you and help. I mean geek as a term of endearment since I was a 31/25 series.

Hi painandpleasure, I'm not a vet, but most of my family was, but none saw combat. Regardless, I just want to give you a HUGE THANKS for your service and sacrifice. You are the real heroes. Good luck with the app, even if it helps one person, it'll have been worth the effort.
In terms of learning to develop, much of it is just trial and error. You have to be willing to try something and let it all go if it doesn't work. Start by mapping out what you're trying to do, then search for examples you can reference and go from there. I know it's not earth shattering advice, but its something that's worked well for me. There's also a specific developers only section on XDA, maybe post there if you need help.
Best of luck and God bless,
Tovo

Thank you. Eventually I'll probably learn. I found out mit is supporting app developer so I'm gonna start there then import it to eclipse.

I have an idea for an app that I want to create that might be able to bring in a bit of cash, but I have no idea where to begin. I don't really have the skills to create the app myself, so I'd probably be looking to contact someone to create the app for me. Can anyone give me some pointers or give me a step by step breakdown of how these things are usually done?

the reality is that no real developer will gradually take your helping need for free. Yes your app could bring money, then again so can every other app that tried. Im not trying to break any dreams here, but if i were you id get busy with this idea. For example, were ever there is money, there will always be greedy people. So i suggest creating a suitable yet understandable contract in which you would agree to pay the developer a certain amount to fund the project then have either him/her earn a good percentage out of the app. Now remember this is how i would do it, then again were different individual and have different moralities so i suggest you approach this any way you want but be sure both sides win.
I wish you the best of luck in creating your app and finding a trusted dev. Good luck mate
I am a long time leecher here at XDA-Developers, but I decided to create an account and see if I could help anybody with anything.
I am a long time programmer, however I didn't really have any Java experience until I get interested in Android a few years back. I am mainly a web developer, and so Java wasn't really anything that I was focused on learning.
What I can do for the XDA community.
Because I am a long time leecher here, I decided that until I actually have something to contribute to the actual Android community, I can contribute what I already have.
I have several servers currently online, so I can host your git/svn projects online in a secure area. Be it private or public. I can also host a website for you and your projects. Most of the time it will cost you nothing, except maybe a domain name if I am broke. (I don't make much at my day job).
I can also host your applications cloud backend, or your apps web interface. Whatever you need me to do. I am a pretty good sysadmin, and already have everything to do it.
I can't thank all of the devs here enough, especially the Galaxy S3 and Note 3 devs considering that they are the devices that I have had recently.
Let me know if you need anything.
Thank you,
Dan
I support you, you're good, I do phone in China, there are many good products in foreign countries want to do some marketing and sales, but a national and regional mobile phone users do not understand. If so, I hope we can have a lot of cooperation. If you are interested you can contact friends

We thank you joining. Also, offering to host files will help a lot of developers on this site.
You say that you're a common user of XDA. What are your other experiences with Android? Rooting? Any ROM experience?
--
I have rooted every device I have owned since my first Android device which was the Motorola droid X using guides from this site. Flashed countless roms to my different devices all downloaded from here.
I am going to start trying to take some roms apart and seeing what I can do with them. Hopefully I can patch a bug or two for some of you guys.
Try and spread the word that I can do what I can do, I don't want to come off as a spammer or anything so I am just going to leave it at this. you can link to this thread, and I will probably put it in my signature.
Thanks for your interest. If you know of any good guides for a beginner rom developer or kernel hacker I would love to read them.

Welcome to XDA! i myself used to be a lurker for XDA, its very generous of you to help others with hosting websites, im sure you will get lots of people accepting your offer. its not very hard to develop apps kernels or custom roms, should only require patience and time (and maybe a little bit more ram, the more ram you have the faster you can build a rom ) hope to see you on the battlefield! enjoy your stay at new vegas!
Welcome
Welcome to XDA! Am also follower of this site... Now registered new bee
I am not a expert like you... Just within in very small limit of exploring
Thanks for the responses everyone. Glad to hear that I may actually be able to help a little until I get going.
Good to hear from all of you.

I have recently come into a couple of domains in a trade. The are androidery.com and myandroidreview.com.
I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in doing anything with these domains.
Possibly a popular developer or developers that need a place to host their roms and source control servers. Whatever it may be, let me know.
If you have other ideas for websites you can post here or PM me and I will try to help you out.
Thanks,
Daniel

OLD newbie..
I too, myself, have been leeching here since I joined XDA a few months back, and still in the process of learning android development.
I'm more in to embedded systems' programming and development, but lately android interests me, and just now decided to get active.
:victory: Welcome to XDA mates!
Welcome. I am new as well
Hello! I'm still new at here too! I hope i can make some contribution in XDA
Hey.now I have issue with downloading the paid upgrade to anysong (again). I had the full version for quite some time and lived it.but since then had to restore my Samsung S3, after my kids put On something which made the bigger mb users like camera and malificent down fall made my phone restart
. Now seeing as I had to restore just the handset,I couldn't remember any passwords so now I cannot get the upgrade, all I get now is a black screen. I hope you can help me out because I've lost faith in the makers, who have chosen to ignore my plea for help. I have just assumed that they've made there millions and now are enjoying retirement. So again I ask for your help and maybe point me in some direction so thanks in advance, and thank you for your time.
Cheers from NZ.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I'm afraid I can't find any thing on an app called anysong on XDA.
I recommend you reach out to the app developer/provider directly.
They usually provide and email for direct contact.
Hello i am a college student and I work in a society of that college. The society is about magazine. We publish magazines. Now this year we are going online so we have also decided to make apps for our magazine. Now most of us have no knowledge of app building so can anyone help us build an app for our magazine. We want to create a simple app which can be updated whenever a new edition comes. Thanks
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You might want to poke around in this forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/app-development Perhaps someone could help you there.
