[Completed] [help] need help in developing an app - XDA Assist

Hello i am a college student and I work in a society of that college. The society is about magazine. We publish magazines. Now this year we are going online so we have also decided to make apps for our magazine. Now most of us have no knowledge of app building so can anyone help us build an app for our magazine. We want to create a simple app which can be updated whenever a new edition comes. Thanks

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You might want to poke around in this forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/app-development Perhaps someone could help you there.

Where do I start?

I want to start developing android applications, problem is, I only have skill with XHTML/CSS and very limited understanding of PHP/MySQL and JS. I was wondering if anyone had a tutorial guide or would be willing to teach me how to develop basic android applications and widgets. I have been looking for a solution for my business and can't find one app "to rule them all" so to speak. So, I thought since I am an avid HTC EVO user and going back to school next semester to finish my IT Degree in hardware and software development, maybe I could get an early start from one of the most educated communities one the net.
Please let me know if anyone can help or point me in the right direction, I would love to get this project underway ASAP!
If u get an answer let me know

First of all, questions go in Q&A forums, not general, so expect this to be moved by a mod.
Secondly, the information that you need is already on here. This question has been asked many times and answered.
Here's a link that will get you started with Android app development...

Thanks for the videos!
Great starting point. Once I get a general feel for this platform, I am pretty sure I will need some expert assistance with the app. To give you guys a quick background:
I am developing this application to work with my business which is Computer Hardware Support. This app will be a BIG one, that I do NOT plan to sell as it will be a main component of my business. However, my customers, past, present, and future, will be able to download a version of this app on the market for free (donation optional), that will give them instant access to my business services. Anyone who is interested in joining the development team will be retained as an employee when I launch the business, if they choose to do so. So, helping with the development of this application has the potential to start or advance your career. PM me for further details as they become available.

[Q] Need help with starting my learning of PROGRAMMING from the basics :)

Hey
Im not from the IT background, so never had a chance to get into programming, but i from the bottom of my heart want to learn.
My friend suggested i start from Visual Basic Is this the right way to start?
Please help me out.
Also, im planning to learn online myself. Can anyone suggest me good sites with tutorials which would help me from the very beginning.
Any help would be appreciated.
Peace.
I think you better start with c# instead. This is used more often I think. If you want to make applications for android you better learn to program java.

[Q] To all Mobile App Developers

Hi everyone, :good: this is my first thread. I work as a retail sales associate for a famous mobile carrier. My interest for mobile technology is growing with the time, and I want to help it evolve. I'm interested in make a degree (certificate program or associated degree) in mobile app development. I'm looking for a "good-looking in the resume" education because my goal is to get a job as a mobile app developer for living. Considering I haven't any knowledge about coding or computer languages; What do you guys recommend to me? What good credited places/universities/colleges to study mobile app development online?
Thank you,
Dragonleaf
Any advice?

New here, want to help.

I am a long time leecher here at XDA-Developers, but I decided to create an account and see if I could help anybody with anything.
I am a long time programmer, however I didn't really have any Java experience until I get interested in Android a few years back. I am mainly a web developer, and so Java wasn't really anything that I was focused on learning.
What I can do for the XDA community.
Because I am a long time leecher here, I decided that until I actually have something to contribute to the actual Android community, I can contribute what I already have.
I have several servers currently online, so I can host your git/svn projects online in a secure area. Be it private or public. I can also host a website for you and your projects. Most of the time it will cost you nothing, except maybe a domain name if I am broke. (I don't make much at my day job).
I can also host your applications cloud backend, or your apps web interface. Whatever you need me to do. I am a pretty good sysadmin, and already have everything to do it.
I can't thank all of the devs here enough, especially the Galaxy S3 and Note 3 devs considering that they are the devices that I have had recently.
Let me know if you need anything.
Thank you,
Dan
I support you, you're good, I do phone in China, there are many good products in foreign countries want to do some marketing and sales, but a national and regional mobile phone users do not understand. If so, I hope we can have a lot of cooperation. If you are interested you can contact friends

We thank you joining. Also, offering to host files will help a lot of developers on this site.
You say that you're a common user of XDA. What are your other experiences with Android? Rooting? Any ROM experience?
--
I have rooted every device I have owned since my first Android device which was the Motorola droid X using guides from this site. Flashed countless roms to my different devices all downloaded from here.
I am going to start trying to take some roms apart and seeing what I can do with them. Hopefully I can patch a bug or two for some of you guys.
Try and spread the word that I can do what I can do, I don't want to come off as a spammer or anything so I am just going to leave it at this. you can link to this thread, and I will probably put it in my signature.
Thanks for your interest. If you know of any good guides for a beginner rom developer or kernel hacker I would love to read them.

Welcome to XDA! i myself used to be a lurker for XDA, its very generous of you to help others with hosting websites, im sure you will get lots of people accepting your offer. its not very hard to develop apps kernels or custom roms, should only require patience and time (and maybe a little bit more ram, the more ram you have the faster you can build a rom ) hope to see you on the battlefield! enjoy your stay at new vegas!
Welcome
Welcome to XDA! Am also follower of this site... Now registered new bee
I am not a expert like you... Just within in very small limit of exploring
Thanks for the responses everyone. Glad to hear that I may actually be able to help a little until I get going.
Good to hear from all of you.

I have recently come into a couple of domains in a trade. The are androidery.com and myandroidreview.com.
I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in doing anything with these domains.
Possibly a popular developer or developers that need a place to host their roms and source control servers. Whatever it may be, let me know.
If you have other ideas for websites you can post here or PM me and I will try to help you out.
Thanks,
Daniel

OLD newbie..
I too, myself, have been leeching here since I joined XDA a few months back, and still in the process of learning android development.
I'm more in to embedded systems' programming and development, but lately android interests me, and just now decided to get active.
:victory: Welcome to XDA mates!
Welcome. I am new as well
Hello! I'm still new at here too! I hope i can make some contribution in XDA

[Completed] Modifying an .APK

Hi, long time voyeur, first time poster.
There is an application i would like to modify for my own medical purposes. Admittedly, I know little about how to do it, and google has suggested way too many 'solutions'.
(Now that the fluff is done)
I'd like to modify a dice roller to change the range that they roll, for example: roll 10 D10's (displayed on the screen) however have it roll 7-10 range as opposed to the 1-10 range. I would like to use the DungeonZ dice calculator.
I will be more than happy to pay for the product or the help.
Thanks for any and all help.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Boy, that's really beyond the scope of XDA Assist. I wouldn't even know where to begin to help you. I would suggest you contact the app developer and see if they would be interested in helping you. Our mission at XDA Assist is to help users get help on their devices and point them in the right direction.
