RAZR HD: Loop stops most apps and processes - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
My Motorola RAZR HD got some kind of virus or system file corruption and since startup a loop of subsequent messages show up telling me that Apps and Processes have stopped, rendering the phone useless, because messages don't stop. Some of these processes/apps stopped are:
* com.android.phone
* com.google.process.gapps
* android.process.acore
* Gmail
* Google Play Services
* Google Play Music
* Google +
* Maps
* Outlook.com
* Clock
* Waze
* 360 Security
* Long list of etc, etc, etc.
The phone is the XT925 and was rooted when I bought it. Currently running Android 4.4.2.
I desperately need to get the phone working, but before, I need to do a backup of contacts and info, but I have very little time because of work. I tried flashing Firmware but it didn't work. I think I need to "format" the phone and simply reinstall the operating system, but got all confused with bootloading, rom, firmware, bla, bla, bla...
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

apptrailers/appredeem 'unfortunately stopped'

Guys help.
My phone is xperia ray with unlocked bootloader and ics pureness build 11 (of course rooted)
problem 1. everytime i uninstall any application, it says in the end 'unfortunately, the process android, process.acore has stopped', but the application can be uninstalled.
problem 2. all other applications work good BUT
app trailers / appredeem can not be run. when i run them, it says unfortunately apptrailers or appredeem stopped, then the application subsequently goes off.
as of now, those 2 applications are my primary concern because those are income earning appications.
What should I do?

[Q] Whatsapp won't install after (official) ICS update

Hello
I recently updated my girlfriend's Desire S to ICS ("official" htc rom 404).
(Please consider I'm aware of the "links" issue affecting Whatsapp I read about in other threads after some search).
Everything works pretty fine, except I'm not able to complete installation of Whatsapp. It downloads from Play Store and installs correctly, but at first launch it ALWAYS freezes after user data input after (or while...not sure) completing account message history retrieval and gets stuck and non responsive. Only solution is killing it through some task killer.
Also deleting all app data, uninstall and re-install by the Play Store takes to the same point.
Strange thing, cause all other apps seem to work fine.
(oh, well, except Sense Clock & Meteo widget that remains stuck to the location of first boot after ICS update, no way to make it understand its actual location! But well, that's a minor thing...lot of alternative clock & meteo widgets around...).

[Completed] Tesco Hudl 2 error with Google play services

I have a Hudl 2 running Android 5.1 build no. LMY471.rel.android-build.20150917.142239
kernel version. 3.10.62-x86_64_byt-g105afb7 [email protected] #1
Recently I started getting errors with lots of apps including Gmail, LastPass, Google Play Music and many more. The error is caused by Google play Services, which says "your device isnt compatible with this version".
I cannot update Google Play Services, I cannot remove it, I cannot roll back to an earlier version. There are no buttons to do so in settings / apps / all
I have tried the solutions suggested on the Tesco support pages which include, Clearing the cache on Google Play services, and clearing all data. I have performed a software reset from settings and also a hardware reset clearing all data.
Nothing works and I am at a loss as to what else to try so I am stuck with a Hudl where at least half of the apps wont work.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

Thanks very much for the reply.
After much head scratching I managed to solve it myself last night. It was the wrong version of Google play services for the Android version on the tablet. Why it wouldnt update, I have no idea and why the recovery ROM has got the wrong verion of Play services is anyone guess. To solve it was a matter of finding the correct version of play services on apkmirror.com and sideloading it.
Thanks

[Q] Conflict with Google Play Services in ota 5.1

Hello!!
I don't usually talk about this but I've seen the need to do it
I have a Shield K1 tablet and every time I install an update, I remove the preinstalled applications to lighten the storage and handling of the RAM but since the last update came out 5.1 when I re-delete the junk applications and restart my device I can not log in Google play and the following message "google play service has stopped working" appears.
I am looking for the application that creates this conflict and I am sure that many also wanted to create this thread to discard applications that are possibly causing the problem but if anyone knows of any solutions please comment it

Pointers on how to run Google services on a Chinese market Android phone

Hey all,
I bought a LG V10 on my country’s gray market last week and realized too late that it was a H968 model, i.e. made for the Chinese market and without any Google service installed. Since returning the device is not an option, I’m stuck trying to get it to work.
It was initially on firmware H96810b-CMT-CN (Android 5.1.1, build number LMY47V, security patch level October 2015) but I managed to download and flash H96810d-CMT-CN (Android 5.1.1, build number LMY47V, security patch level January 2016) which seems to be the latest version available anywhere. I don’t dare flash another V10 model’s firmware due to being afraid of an unrecoverable hard brick.
I’ve also tried to unlock the bootloader, but so far no dice. I’ve already ticked the correct boxes in the Developer options, but adb reboot bootloader only reboots the phone normally, and the volume down+power method starts in factory reset mode instead. As a result, I think anything requiring a custom recovery or root is outside my reach. Custom ROMs for H968 don’t seem to exist either.
Anyway, I managed to sideload many of the Google APKs onto the phone in an attempt to get Google services working:
Backup Transport 5.1
Account Manager 5.1 *
Contacts Sync 5.1
Calendar Sync 5.1
Google Services Framework 4.4.4 **
Google Services 12.6.88
Google Play 10.3.12 ***
I’ve marked the problem packages with stars.
* Account Manager 5.0 or 5.1 don’t display any message errors but fail to load the login page while trying to enter a Google account. I bypassed that by downgrading to 4.4.4, creating the account, then upgrading the package back to 5.1. That seems to work.
** GSF 5.0 and 5.1 cause endless “Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.” messages that cause the phone to be unusable until I uninstall GSF. GSF 4.4.4 is the most recent version of GSF that works without any error, which is weird for a 5.1.1 device.
*** Maybe linked to the previous error, but while most common Google apps (Search, Drive, GBoard, Keep, Calendar, Tasks) seem to work and sync fine under the current setup, I can’t log into the Play Store at all. I only get the infamous “Error retrieving information from server. [RH-01]”. Clearing caches and data doesn’t work, the error even happens on a fresh install after a factory reset. I’ve tried versions of Play Store as old as 8.7, 7.9 and even 5.5 but they all show that error. Unfortunately this means that most of my paid apps can’t be downloaded on this phone, or can’t check that I’ve already used in-app purchases to unlock paid features.
Any pointers would be welcome for how I could solve those issues.
Update: still no change except to notice that push notifications work randomly. FB lite and Telegram notifications work, Twitter/Discord/Hangouts notifications don’t. Google Services crash regularly, but not to the point of rendering the phone unusable.
I’ve been able to install apps using Yalp, but any app requiring access to the billing/in-app purchase service is unable to do so.
