[GUIDE]How to get root on 5.02 stock firmwares Tab 4 10.1 SM-T530-535 with knox 0x0 - Galaxy Tab 4 General

How to get root on 5.02 stock firmwares Tab 4 10.1 SM-T530-535 without tripping knox .
(Without losing the guarantee, through the downgrade on 4.4.2, Knox 0x0)
Just get root on 5.02 is not possible. For this purpose it is necessary to downgrade to the 4.4.2 firmware. Downgrade it is very simple with service firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/kklp-service-firmwares-sm-t530-sm-t531-t3158803 . You flash your bootloader and modem from service firmware and usual Home 1-file firmware via Odin . After flash do factory reset in recovery . Important: When you do this you erase internal memory, so if you need to make a copy of the data in advance.
All you have clean 4.4.2. Now you can get root with the help of Towelroot by method replacing the kernel , as here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57881047&postcount=174 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/root-galaxy-tab-4-10-1-sm-t530-t3028117 , suitable for all Tab 4 10.1 . After getting root you can begin to return to 5.02. To do this, you need to download to the memory card stock firmware 5.02 , install Triangle Away http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/orig-development/2014-01-15-triangleaway-v3-26-t1494114 and Flashfire (latest version) http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/flashfire-t3075433 . First, run and do Triangle Away reset. Then you run Flashfire and press in the lower right corner of the circle with a +. Then click on the circle Flash firmware package and specify the path to the downloaded and unpacked firmware. After a successful startup menu appears. Do not touch it, just click at the top of the bird. Next, we need to change the default Reboot to Download mode. Everything's all settings. Now press the FLASH and wait for the end of the process. After you get into download mode. Connecting to a PC and run Odin 3.10.6 (preferably). Here we need to flash bootloader and modem from firmware 5.02 twice. This is all . You have 5.02 firmware with root and Knox counter 0x0 .
Bootloader and modem can be taken from the service firmware ( link above )
Owners SM-T530 can to use my files bootloader and modem from here for 4.4.2 and 5.02

Update apps

Writing to an old thread I know...
I did not see any service file for T30NU KK only LP. I recently bought a used tab off a major website in order to learn about the Android OS and restore the tab. Looks like the issue is something with the update from KK to LP in which the wifi and BT no longer work. Stock firmwares are not booting only custom ones which is how I know about the connectivity issues.
Thread for my progress is here... I've learned a lot and continue to post updates on it.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ta...xy-tab-4-10-1-sm-t530nu-t3441044#post74755443
Two questions:
Is there a service file for T530NU KK?
Can root for these tablets be done the easy way now - flash TWRP via Odin then install SU via TWRP?

SUCCESS !!! Knox 0x0 with Mobile Odin Pro 3.85 !!!

I would like to report that at least we have SUCCESSFULLY flashed and rooted MJ7 UK firmware using Mobile Odin Pro 3.85.
This is for the SM-N9005 Qualcomm Snapdragon model.
We were originally rooted on MJ1 by using Root de la Vega, with Knox 0x0, which made the Mobile Odin flash possible.
SUCCESSFUL FIRMWARE VERSIONS ROOTABLE: MI7, MJ1, MJ3
UNSUCCESSFUL ROOT :MJ6 and later
NOTE: THIS DOES NOT RESET YOUR KNOX if it is 0x1.
Originally reported in a Malaysia forum here: - XDA user williamyi (WiLyi on Lowyat.net forum) was the first user to report trying this method with success. Thank him in post 2 !!

Knox remains 0x0
All we need to do is to to reinstall Xposed and its mods.
Thanks @Chainfire !!!!!
Many other XDA users are also now reporting success by flashing to MJ7 using this method.
Steps: (thanks to WiLyi of Lowyat.net forum) aka @williamyi in XDA
1. Download UK MJ7 firmware.
2. Extract the tar.md5 (I placed in internal SD - not sure if this make any differences)
3. Open the tar.md5
4. Check:
i. Everroot
ii. Inject SuperSU
iii. Inject Mobile Odin
5. Flash
NOTE: Mobile Odin will throw a standard warning about tripping Knox. That can be ignored (we did). Remember to tick Everroot so that you will be rooted immediately upon flashing.
NOTE: Mobile Odin "A compatible device was detected, but with an unexpected partition layout. Mobile ODIN cannot operate. This is a common error on CM and MIUI ROMs on some devices."
This can be solved by uninstalling and reinstalling SuperSU or its updates.

I had initially rooted with the Root de la Vega method, and Knox was still 0x0. I wanted to test a newer ROM MJ7 so after @williamyi had succeeded I tried as well.

I have rooted the firmware using Root De La Vega since day the early days and gotten the root access without tripping the knox.
This time I flash the UK's MJ7 firmware using Mobile Odin Pro 3.85 and successfully update the firmware from the first MJ1 to the latest MJ7 without tripping the knox as shown in the first link in the first post

Which firmware are you in now? As far as I know firmware later than BMJ1 comes with a new bootloader.
You may try to root it using URDLV first before flashing to later firmware using Mobile Odin. Alternatively you may try method in post 8

Also add that this is tested on MJ1 bootloader only. URDLV will definitely trip MJ3 bootloader and above. Dunno about MOP.

I was running MI7 firmware with root but after flashing to MJ8 firmware, I lost root. Knox is still 0x0
Can I downgrade the firmware back to MI7 and root it again with RDLV method and then use mobileodin to update firmware?

MJ8? Are you using HK firmware? Not sure if the bootloader is the same in MJ7 or not, but if they are using a new bootloader, then I believe there is no way to downgrade the bootloader

No..you cannot as you already have new bootloader when your flash the MJ8 firmware. Even if you use RDLV..you will still trip your Knox as RDLV meant to those who still on the old bootloader.

If you flashed the MJ8 file as it comes straight from Samsung then no, you can't downgrade without triggering the Knox counter.
If it was a URDLV version then yeah.

Can any one say whether the Canadian 4.4.2 has multi user enabled, if not has any one tried to apply the multi user hack.
Newbie question. If I wanted to temporarily disable the root so that apps which may have an issue with rooted device can continue to work how would this be done. I saw in one forum where someone said they were only able to do this with the 4.2.2 ROM.

Latest firmware version : PDA:NH2 / CSC:NH2 (XAR)
Thanks

Fix?
I recently did the Samsung update to Android 4.4.2. I've tried multiple times to root my device, but each time, the SuperSu has not functioned properly. The first time it would not update correctly, so I tried a different .zip and the SuperSu in that one would freeze every time I would try to use it. Will this fix the problems I am having?

YES, if you flash this Restore Rom or any other rom just follow the right instructions about Root like if you are in 5.1.1 use the LG_LP5.1.1 One Click Root Method in This Thread (Click Here) and follow the instruction for TWRP

Yes flashing Bootstack+Debloated_v4 work together ,(both are for v10j update)
What you mean anything v10j softbrick?
GT updated the v10j zip a few days ago adding the bootstack+preroot and Is that including my Stock Restore? If you go Stock Restore make sure to have the TWRP img file to flash while still in recovery cuz as soon you leave the recovery without flashing TWRP again youll loose TWRP and need PC to get back...
PS. Wipe Cache+Dalvik after flashing everything.

No, your bootloader will not be locked. There's a setting in developer options called "Enable OEM Unlock" which unlocks the bootloader. There's nothing I wrote in that post that suggests your bootloader will be locked. You will also keep root and twrp if you flash my v10J from that post.

You can flash this TWRP after going back to stock..
twrp-2.8.7.0-10j.img
Found here..

TWRP Will flash an image. Just make sure you don't reboot after flashing stock stuff stay in the recovery you won't get back into TWRP if you reboot right away. Also find the supersu zip so you can root.
total noob here
can anyone give me a step by step on how to install stock firmware on the lg ms631 without using twrp? I see threads that say use LG Flash Tool, but it says to select 'CDMA' and this is a GSM phone, so I want to make sure I won't damage it. Thanks for any help you could give me.
Follow those directions, there's nothing wrong with them.
i tried this and ended up in an lg logo bootloop....tried to go into recovery on lg h631 and my only option is a factory reset on this phone... recovery wont even come up..tried that and only get a black screen....it turns off apparently....any help?

[ROOT][SM-T53X,SM-T33X][CF-AUTO-ROOT][Simplest method to get ROOT now for 5.02-5.1.1]

Hi folks . Dear @Chainfire update your CF-Auto-Root base and now we get opportunity to have root with the simplest method ! It works now on 5.02 and 5.1.1 stock firmwares . Sorry but knox is tripped .
Now this works on SM-T530 , SM-T530NU , SM-T535 , SM-T532 , SM-T533 ,SM-T330NU , SM-T331
Complete list you can see on https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ .
HOW INSTALL :
BASIC INSTRUCTIONS
All downloads contain .tar.md5 files flashable in ODIN as PDA(AP)
Make sure your device is in ODIN download mode (usually you can get there by holding VolDown+Home+Power when the device is turned off), then start the included Odin file, press the PDA(AP) button, select the .tar.md5 file, and click Start. You can find more detailed instructions and assistance at XDA.
A modified recovery and cache partition will be flashed, which will install (only) SuperSU, then clean-up the cache partition and re-flash the stock recovery.
For the root to work, the device must reboot into recovery. Most devices will do this automatically after flashing these files, but in case that does not happen, please boot into recovery manually.

You better ask @HausiX10 about this in PM .
Wow thank you for this! I successfully rooted my Tab 4 SM-T330NU using 5.1.1 on the first attempt with the files provided here. I had been trying all weekend to successful root my device using other methods and files, but for some reason they all resulted in bootloops. I kept reading through the troubleshoot forums for a solution, but nothing worked. I wish I would have found this thread sooner, it would have saved me a lot of problems!
bootloop
Hi I'm stuck in bootloop; set warranty bit: kernel. Any solutions?
Still working?
"You can find more detailed instructions and assistance at XDA." Mhm, I am on XDA so where are that detailed instructions? And when I finished root Unified daemon, Media memory and TouchWiz - home are stopping working. Is it normal?
I need sm-t537v please
What about the bootloader?

Hi @repey6. Thanks for the tutorial.
Do you know if I need to worry about unlocking the bootloader on my device? It's a SM-T531 (Brazil) running 4.4.2.
@Chainfire's auto-root page warns that flashing the auto-root with the bootloader locked will probably brick it, but I'm so noob that I don't even know if mine is locked or not. I can only imagine that it is, since I haven't done anything close to flashing anything on this device.
Thanks for your attention.

Thanks for the answer! So, how do I unlock the bootloader then? Haven't been able to find it here in XDA. Also, I've found a post here on the forum where a user claimed Magisk didn't work in 5.0.2 because the kernel was too old. Do you know if Towelroot is better?
Pls help. :crying:
