Super Hard Bricked 1+1 - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, yesterday I was riding back on my bike from college back home when all of a sudden it started raining quite heavily. My phone was working fine. It got drenched in the rain in my pocket since I absolutely could not make a stop as I was on a main highway. I came home and found that the phone wasn't responding to the power button but the led was flashing so I presumed it's working. I tried pressing and holding the power button for reboot but it did not work. I then kept the phone in a rice bowl (Yes, I panicked and didn't know what to do). After 2 hours, the phone was completely dead and there was no LED flashing. I read about what can be done so I tried these things in the order typed:
1. Opened the back, unscrewed the panel, removed the power connector and plugged it back. It did not work. Some people have had success using this method so I gave it a go.
2. Kept the phone to dry off in room temperature under a ceiling fan for the night.
3. Read up on un-bricking a hard bricked phone and tried to follow this guide. My phone would simply not get recognized to even install the Qualcomm drivers when connected to my desktop.
4. Tried it on another laptop and it still would not get recognized after pressing and holding the power and volume + button.
I am all out of ideas as to what can be done to save the phone. I have insurance against the phone but I want to save precious data in the phone.
Any Ideas?

On an old phone I had. The thing slipped out of my hand as I was taking a photo at a river. The phone bounced of a rock the rear cover fell off, the battery fell out and the whole lot went under water.
I picked all the pieces up and did my best to shake the phone dry and reassembled the phone. No surprise at all the phone did not work but I was desperate because I wanted tunes for the drive home.
I then resigned my self to a longer term strategy and put my simcard in an old dumb phone I had (I still need a phone) then I placed the saturated phone on top of one of hard disc drive's in my desktop PC for 3 days (my computer never sleeps nice and warm but not to hot) then I reassembled the phone and everything worked fine. In fact the phone is still going today.
Be patent and make sure you have the phone completely dry.

Did I Kill It Dead?

When I got to work yesterday and pulled out my Fuze, it was displaying a low-battery warning. I have a spare battery, so I switched in the new one, but after doing so, I wasn't able to get the back cover back on. As I have had difficulty with this in the past, I didn't worry too much about it, but just gave up for the time being and decided to wait for break time to put it back together.
Later, in trying to replace the back, I realized that I had put the battery in upside down! I turned it over and was now able to replace the back. However, now the phone would not turn on at all, even with the original battery (which, although it displayed a warning, had still been on earlier).
Now, when I try to charge either battery, nothing apparently happens. Only once was I able to get the charging light to flash a few times, but then it stopped. After hours of being connected to the charger, the phone still won't turn on.
Did I destroy my phone by putting the battery in backwards? If not, what's going on here? It doesn't seem that I "just" ruined the battery, since the other one doesn't work, either.
I don't know which is worse, the feelings of depression at losing my expensive device, or the feelings of stupidity at having done such a thing.
I will be waiting in great anticipation for your suggestions....
You probably just bent the contacts inwards, so they no longer make contact with the battery electrodes. I would carefully try bending them slightly outwards. Then replace the battery and see if the phone will power up. Without the proper contact with the battery, you also can't charge the phone with a wall charger (although you can remove the battery when it's in bootloader if you have the phone plugged in through the usb port).
You Got It!
You're exactly right, Ted. When I realized what it was, I was embarrassed not to have thought about it right away. In any case, everything seems to be good now -- whew!
I didn't understand you last sentence, though. Can you clarify for me, please?
Plug your phone into the wall-charger. Press and hold volume down, then do a soft reset. Keep holding vol down (not the reset button) until the tri-color screen. Now, if you want you can pull the battery and the phone will stay on. Soft reset to re-boot (it won't wipe you phone unless you screw up, lol).

Water damaged - now flashing green and orange. Wont turn on.

After my issues with my One X, my daughter looks to have bricked her One S after dropping her phone in the sink....
Early on Saturday morning my daughter ran through shouting that her One S had just fallen from her pocket and landed in the sink. It was in the water just a second or two. She brought it straight through to me and it was working fine, but the phone was on a constant vibrate. I pulled the sim, and removed the top and bottom cover, and got the hairdryer out. I dried it on cold for 30 minutes (no heat at all) and put it straight in a sealed tupperware box of rice in the boiler cupboard. I had expected to pull it out this lunch time (a full 48 hours later) expecting it to be fine, but after plugging it in to charge on the mains for 4 hours, it wont boot.
At the moment it flashes green and red when on charge, but this disappears when it is removed from charge. This is the same whether it is charged via USB or mains.
When I first tried to start it up, the screen flashed around a third of the way down and the nothing.
Second attempt, I held down the lock button and held it. After a few seconds the three buttons at the bottom flashed 15 (I counted them) times and then nothing.
Third time, as above, but flashed 5 times.
Since then nothing. No flashing, no noise, blank screen.
Incidentally, when it seemed to want to boot it never vibrated (if that helps the diagnosis?)
I haven't got the tools, so I had planned to pick some up tomorrow and order a replacement battery from Ebay. My reasoning is because I have read that the lights I have flashing relate to battery issues.
Any other options? Is there any hope for this phone now?

It could be that the device has 0% battery.
Try to plug it in the charger and hold the power button for so 15 min.
Then try constantly to turn on(plluged im the charger)
This should help

No no no don't plug it in! There's likely still water in there that could short the circuits and permanently damage the phone, if it hasn't happened already. Power it off fully, put it in rice or some sort of dessicant, and let it sit for at least a week. The longer you wait, the better chance you have of saving it.
Thanks guys for the quick replies.
The phone won't connect to my laptop or computer and won't let me access HTC Sync. The 3 lights at the bottom will only flash when the phone is plugged in, if I unplug it won't do anything at all.
I can't see there being any liquid left in there at all. It was thoroughly dried with a cool hair dryer (and worked perfectly) before I shut it down manually and placed it in the rice for 2 days. I think that I'm at the stage where I can be confident of that.
Sounds like a dead battery to me.. But just to be safe wait a while before charging it

Update:
I was ready to bleach the water marker and/or get some phone insurance, but when I went back to the phone a couple of days after my last post, I plugged it in to charge again and when I checked it a couple of hours later it was working.
it's well over a week later, and there are no obvious I'll effects now.
I'm really surprised, but obviously delighted.

[Q] Issues powering up phone

Back story:
There was some water damage to begin with. Went wading when I was fishing and forgot the [phone was in my pouch by my chest. Buddie's lure gets stuck and since I'm tallest I help him retrieve it forgetting the phone is there. I turn it off and throw it in rice for a day, come back and turn it on and it works fine.
Fast forward 2 months, I'm camping and the phone is working fine. I shut it off to charge it and later I come to I see the battery percentage at 45% so I unplug it and try to turn it on, no go. Get into the car, plug it into the car charger and I get the battery charging screen but that's it. Phone vibrates when I plug it in and doesn't turn on. I eventually get it to boot back into android os but as soon as I pulled the charging cable out it shut off. At this point I figure it's the stuck power button so I bang the **** out of the phone and still the same. Then I'm like, possibly sudden death? Nope, I'm still able to get the phone to boot into download mode no problem.
Now I decide to clean the logic board. I take the phone apart, soak the logic board in 99% iso alcohol and clean it with a tooth brush. Remove all the gunk and stuff the water left behind, let it dry and put it back together I even mess with the power button to get it unstuck with the tweezer method. The phone still doesn't boot up so I try the GFs battery from her S3 and the same thing. So I decide to put it into download mode and Odin back to stock firmware, previously I was running stock firmware but rooted thought I could have updated with OTA and messed something up. At this point I can get it to boot into android os 90% of the time but applications crash and whatnot. But the phone will only power up if it is plugged into the outlet.
Do you guys think the logic board done for? I have no idea what else I can do to it.

Thought my Note 5 died this morning, 4 hours later got it working again

First thing this morning, my Note 5 was working fine. Used the navigation to get to the house I was working at today, as well as simultaneously using Autoguard dash cam app. I got to the job, exited the navigation and Autoguard, got out of my van, holstered the phone.
About 15 minutes later, I try to use my phone to take some pictures, but nothing would happen. Black screen. Couldn't restart by holding the power button. Tried getting into both recovery and download modes. Plugged in the phone to see if it would charge. I was getting absolutely nothing. It was like my device had just up and died. I just kept wondering, could the board have been fried or maybe the battery shorted?
I was dreading the thought of seeing if warranty would cover the device, even after having it for only 5 months. I've been screwed before by the insurance and warranty service on other phones. Making me pay the deductible for a new device, and them claiming that there was water damage, showing me the "damage", when it's obviously a fried board and the moisture sticker isn't activated.
But anyway, lunch time rolls around. I go sit in my van, start pressing the buttons again. Still no restart, still no recovery, but then I try download mode, and viola. Device got into download mode. I canceled out, and the device rebooted normally. I was at 100% power when I got to the job site, and after roughly 4 hours later of it being unresponsive brought it down to 60%.
My mind was put at ease. Charged up normally afterward. The rest of the afternoon there were no more hiccups. Has anyone else ever had something like this happen?

Yup, has something similar happen to mine. Locked up just like yours while it was in my pocket. No response to anything, even plugging it in to the charger. Just had to hold volume down + power. This is a soft reset and is like a battery pull. Try it out if you have this problem again.

Sat in water and still working!

Well, mostly. The only thing not working is the flash for the FFC.
Monday, I had my phone sitting on the passenger seat in my car, in a baking pan. I had to quickly put on my brakes because a car pulled out in front of me, so the pan, my phone, and a cup of water I had in the cupholder all fell onto the floorboard and I didn't notice. About 10 minutes later, I realized I didn't have my phone in my phone and ran outside to go get it. When I found it, it was still on but the front led was also on and the phone said that it couldn't detect a SIM card. I turned it off and decided to take it apart to let it dry.
A little while later, it booted up on its own but kept bootlooping, sometimes going into bootloader mode, and the volume/power buttons were unresponsive. I just let it sit and hoped for the best.
It eventually booted up and got to the PIN unlock screen but the touchscreen wasn't working. I managed to turned it off and let it sit for a while longer.
Fortunately, it started working later that night and I was able to fully boot my phone. However, the front LED stayed on.
I noticed that a corner of the back of the phone had started to come unglued, so I took the back of and cleaned all the connections, some of which did have a little corrosion on them. I put it back together and now mostly everything works. I'm so thankful I didn't have to get another phone. ?
