Leonovo camera for G2 AOSP Rom! - G2 Themes and Apps

Hi all!
First of all, all credits goes to Juan Carlos
I just want to share what i found surfing on internet!
The main thread was for Note 3, and Lg G3, but i tryed to install on G2 and it's all working!
Photo are really amazing, but cannot change resolution, only aspect ratio
HDR works
(sometimes screen become colored, just move the phone and return to the main object and all work)
Videos work, but no option for 4K, only FHD, HD, 480p
and when you take a photo, you will see the thumbnail in the right down corner, if you press it nothing will happen, i think because the package doesnt have gallery, only photocamera
Some photo by me here:
IMGUR
How to install:
-Download the .Zip package
-copy it on Internal memory
-reboot to recovery
-flash .zip package
-follow aroma and choose what you want to install
-reboot
-enjoy
V6 - changelog:
-Update Lenovo Camera
-New Values for media profiles for 2160p recorder
-Add Memory Bootanimation fix
-Try it in Blisspop ROM
PD: 4k only works on blisspop roms for now

I hope what i found help who want stock quality in AOSP ROM for our G2!
Leave thumbs up

Don't mean to disrespect your post, but I disagree on some things you stated. Keep in mind that I tried this on slim 5.1.1, maybe it's different than Rom you are using.
HDR does not crash, but I wouldn't say it works because the pics are no different than with HDR off. Regular pic quality (normal mode or whatever) is exactly the same as aosp camera in same conditions. With flash on, the pics are just crap compared to aosp one, it's like the flash is not synced with shutter or something, the ones with aosp are definitely better lit. Panorama, it's not even worth mentioning, completely useless and obnoxious, stretches out the picture in a weird way, doesn't focus. After all of these issues I didn't even bother trying out video. The gallery thing is an issue as you mentioned. Far, far from stock quality I am afraid.
I would post some pics I made, but I deleted them before I saw your post and I am returning back to stock as I write. I gave aosp a shot and I liked it, but I use camera a lot and I want a good quality one. After doing some thorough research and testing, there's nowhere near a replacement for stock cam and most of them don't have more than 50% of functions working. And I started to love aosp.. Oh well, you can't have it all

Testing it on a Slim rom is kinda pointless. They make too many changes to the dpi as well as other base system files so things may work on an AOSP rom but will be terrible on Slim roms.

Any particular rom you suggest to try this on? Slim worked flawlessly for me on vs980, but I would try something else if it can bring improvement to pic quality. I assumed that, camera wise, they are all the same. I might check Blisspop

[Q] How can I have both AOSP and TW camera's?

The title pretty much says what I'm looking for.
The AOSP camera has the simple time lapse video recording. I know there are other apps that can do this, but the overall better experience I have had with the AOSP version is what I want.
The only way you can have the touch wiz camera is if you use a touch wiz Rom. I'm not entirely sure if the aosp camera will work on touch wiz but I don't see why it wouldn't.
well, Im on a touchwiz rom. Im thinking if I try to either flash or install it in the system apps, its going to replace, or try to replace the touchwiz camera. Other then doing a nandroid and just trying it, any other thoughts?

Replacing it in zip and flashing is the way to do it. My guess is it is going to FC anyway. Could be wrong but will at least probably lose some integration supported by Touchwiz.
It won't work.I don't understand why you and this guy: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/35342-port-request-touchwiz-cameracamcorder-for-aosp-roms/ are so hellbent on getting the TW camera. Yes, it takes better pictures but if you are really looking for quality maybe you should be using a DSLR or something anyway.

What he said. And also i don't notice a huge in quality of pictures anyways and i've been on AOSP jellybean the past couple weeks. All my pictures turn out to look really nice, or maybe i'm just crazy. The AOSP camera really is not that bad at all. Its missing a few features, but that's about it.
The TW camera just runs smooth already. Other camera apps lag or FC, or missing features. Its not a quality issue. I dont know why Samsung left the time lapse feature out.
And I do have a DSLR for my good pics. but DSLR is not nearly as accessible and ready
There are plenty of camera apps that are from the market that dont replace the TW camera. How can we make the AOSP one like a regular app like those?

[Q] JB Camera Stock FOV/Aspect Ratio

Hi all,
after almost getting rid of my Sensation, finaly got round to taking the leap to get a JB rom, to extend the life of the handset. Everything has gone well, and I've installed Albinomans ROM fine. I have noticed one thing so wanted to ask any JB based rom users a question.
In the stock JB camera app the pictures are in 4:3 format (which is fine, and I know there is a flashable zip, but bear with me). I prefer this aspect ratio for pictures, however, when taking a picture, the whole screen is taken up, which is effectively a 16:9 screen, so its hard to frame pictures correctly.
Basically, if you have a JB rom, when taking a picture, is the whole screen taken up? And then when you look at the picture taken it the gallery, is there more above and below what you saw then you took the photo.
I'm interested to know if this is the behaviour of a JB camera in general or maybe something to do with the ROM I have. I dont have enough posts to ask a specific queestion in the DEV thread, but I would appreciate any feedback.
If there is no way round it then I will have to just settle for using camera ICS from the market so I can see what I want to take
Thanks in advance

Hi, ive been using this mod for a while now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901917 . Just flash it and then make sure you are opening the right camera app (There will be 2 now!) . The correct one has the option to choose 16:9. However if force closes first time but dont worry it only happens once!

Thanks for the reply. I have come across that mod in my searches before posting, and its the flashable zip that I mention in my opening post. I'm less concerned about 16:9 and more concerned that 4:3 is shown properly - tbh both would be nice.
Seeing as you have it installed, can you tell me if the non 16:9 modes correctly show the right aspect ratio? If so, it should have a border on the sides, like the ICS camera, then go back to full screen when you chose the 16:9 option.
Are we able to remove that flashed version if its not what is wanted? From what you say it won't replace the original but would probably like to get rid of it if its not suitable.
Thanks for replying, would appreciate the info I mention above.
Cheers

[Q] Camera on CM12.1, stock, or OxygenOS

Apologies if this is answered in a FAQ somewhere. I have a G3 on CM 12.1 but the camera quality is not great. I know tha camera on the OPO is not world class but on stock it genereally is considered "good". Is it still good on CM12.1 or are you forced to revert to google camera or sometning worse? What about on OxygenOS? I'm assuming it works good on Oxygen as that is the current stock firmware.
I'm not concerned about 4k but would like good quality 1080P along with nice stills. Slow motion and good pan-ams would be nice.
Thanks!
I have both OPO and Google camera installed. I used them interchangeably. If I need a landscape shot, I will use OPO camera, if portrait, I tried to experiment. For quick shots with my son, I used the Google camera.

You can still use CameraNext (the stock camera) on CM12.1 and it'll perform as well as on the stock firmware, even recording video in 4K if you want to. I believe you can use CameraNext on Oxygen but you won't have 4K video.
ok, thanks for the replies. To make sure I understand, CameraNext is the camera that ships on the OPO as stock and you are saying that it works just as well on CM12.1. So, given that many sites indicate that the camera on the OPO is good (not great) the camera really shouldn't let me down.
Trying to decide if I should sell the G3 and get a OPO.
Thanks for the feedback

[BOUNTY] Port MIUI camera to CM 12.1/13 rom

I dont know about you guys but I belive the MIUI camera is excellent, it has fast shutter speed and image processing. I have tried a lot of camera apps when I was on CM rom and none of them could match it.
Other members are welcome to donate (I will update the post) and to start of I will be putting $10 in the bounty for anyone who can port the MIUI camera to CM.

There are another options, as the OPO cam that has been ported to many devices, or the Cyanogen Camera, that it's which I have been using till now. That last is very good, it has many options to configure, including HDR and Slow-Mo video recording in HD. It's in another thread of xda.

I flashed the one from here (ver 5.8 ) and its working great, with very good picture quality (i would say its like stock miui camera, only some options dont work). What i find very cool is the "moving people" Option. It realy takes clear pictures, even if someone is moving fast (good when you have a little child, which never stands still ). With this Option i get shuttertimes faster than 1/300 sec.
I only miss the HDR PRO Option from miui camera.
Thanks @ekkilm for the tip and the link in your forum on your Website

Thanks, I was on 3.6 and thought I'll try 5.8 and I can confirm the shutter speed is definitely faster than 3.6 so I'm happy with that. Which rom you on now?
After a few tests, indoor at lowlight, miui takes clearer photos I.e. better focused.
I'll try this when I try cm at some point but I'm still hoping for a miui camera port.

Can somebody port Xperia Z4 camera?
I would also donate 20$ via Paypal for the port.
It's not about the handling/design of the MIUI camera app. It's more about the (probably closed-source) libraries to use all features of the Sony camera/lense and to get the best picture quality.

thanks for recommendation
for me it's far better than MIUI or lenovo super camera, as it doesn't use so aggressive noise reduction which is especially visible at higher ISO levels - for me, MIUI camera smears away way too much detail.
also, the shutter speed seems very good
_________
EDIT: a bug found!
after you run oppo camera, all camera apps use only warmer flash, the colder one stays off, some camera apps don't enable the flashlight at all (even if you force the flash) - like CameraMX. only the system torch works properly
can't tell what's the reason, but as soon as you uninstall the oppo camera app, both leds return to normal work

The Cyanogen Camera does seem to work very well. Thank you for pointing me there. Shutter sound can not be disabled, but that can be fixed.
How did you manage to get slow-motion working?

Maybe you could point us in a direction where we can get the plugins? They have been taken down due to DMCA claim.
Opo cam is not that good. some plugins crash the app, overall it is not as good as Cyanogen Camera imo. Are there any other good alternatives?
And yes, would be nice if miui cam got ported.
Full Potential
I was looking through some files from the EU weekly ROM and found some interesting files. As you can see in the image there is files in system/vendor/lib such as imx258_HFR_120. HFR stands for high frame rate and 120 suggests 120fps recording while the stock camera app for me seems to record at about 49 fps at 720p. The specifications of the camera sensor found here: http://www.sony.net/Products/SC-HP/IS/sensor1/img/products/ProductBrief_IMX258_20151015.pdf say the sensor is capable of 1080p at 60fps. Can someone please try unlock the full potential of our camera?

Isn't it used for the slow motion? The full HD is indeed consistent at 29-30 fps and 4K videos are nearly half of it, not sure about 720p though.
That's what I mean, I only get 49fps at slow motion and other camera apps can't record at higher than 30fps.
i'm using cm and i miss a feature from my previous smiui.
in smiui i could take pics while pressing volume down.
i like to take a quick photo without wasting time.
i looked around and just found those spy stuff things but nothing like the miui feature.
would it be possible to port this with the original camera ?
i would also donate some money (10€ or more) for a port of these features.

im not quite sure what you mean, but the hwcamera from either honor8 or p9 are not working on a CM ROM. it needs libs to actually be shown as an installed app.
i tried every proper camera app: cameringo+, retrica, fv5, camera-fx, open camera
and even silly ones: 360, candy camera
all of the above either dont run at all, produce sub-par results since they dont address the camera api/kernel properly, and none can capture video properly at min 30fps.
as long as this very decent camera in this phones pricerange isnt properly used in custom ROMS, im not even bothering with any builds. its just a waste of time, when the core selling point for this phone isnt working properly.
id love to keep using resurrectionremix, since i love that ROM, but as mentioned above - waste

This is something you deal with when you CM/aosp based roms. People think they can have their cake and eat it to. This is not the case. CM has had bad camera code for years and they really can't do anything about it without recording their libs and system from the ground up.
