best camera app on nexus 5

i'm searching a good app to take some good pics, the google camera has got some annoying bugs for example the focus. What do you use?

Well,I use the Camera Zoom FX but it still have bad focus if distance <5cm

With stock app i notice bad focus with every distance

A better camera

Is there any way to xperia or s5 or m8 camera???? I would love to have that on nexus[emoji2]

Try using Pro Capture, in time I've seen Camera 360 take better shots, but I hate it burst the flash even when I'm not taking pictures.

I use Google camera with touch focus and hdr+, and I have not yet encountered an app that matches its IQ, especially in dimmer light. I have tried many many

Using Camera Zoom Fx...... seems good.

Stock seems fine to me, used ProCapture before.

Stock just keeps getting better for me.

+1 to snap, simple and lovely app..

Really the only thing I'd like is a burst mode. I like that when taking pics of the kids playing. Otherwise I used very few features of my old sammy cameras so the stock app is fine for me. I don't suppose there's any way to add a burst mode to it - any mods or anything?

Same here. I've purchased quite a few and none beat this combo for IQ. We really are at the mercy of the hardware.

Just got Lollipop, retried FV5, and definitely love its manual iso and exposure time control, as well as raw dng support. Processing the dng files with PS express, I get great results in low light, noticeably better than stock hdr+. You can browse thru the dngs with slingshot and share/ send them to PS express

Camera FV-5 only support PNG (for now), not DNG.

I hace FV5 v2.23, not sure whether it is beta still, but it does support everything I said in full resolution on lollipop nexus5.

I turned on manual focus via google camera and all has been good for me. Stock 5.0.

[Q] Camera on CM12.1, stock, or OxygenOS

Apologies if this is answered in a FAQ somewhere. I have a G3 on CM 12.1 but the camera quality is not great. I know tha camera on the OPO is not world class but on stock it genereally is considered "good". Is it still good on CM12.1 or are you forced to revert to google camera or sometning worse? What about on OxygenOS? I'm assuming it works good on Oxygen as that is the current stock firmware.
I'm not concerned about 4k but would like good quality 1080P along with nice stills. Slow motion and good pan-ams would be nice.

I have both OPO and Google camera installed. I used them interchangeably. If I need a landscape shot, I will use OPO camera, if portrait, I tried to experiment. For quick shots with my son, I used the Google camera.

You can still use CameraNext (the stock camera) on CM12.1 and it'll perform as well as on the stock firmware, even recording video in 4K if you want to. I believe you can use CameraNext on Oxygen but you won't have 4K video.

ok, thanks for the replies. To make sure I understand, CameraNext is the camera that ships on the OPO as stock and you are saying that it works just as well on CM12.1. So, given that many sites indicate that the camera on the OPO is good (not great) the camera really shouldn't let me down.
Trying to decide if I should sell the G3 and get a OPO.

The camera works fine, but in low-light conditions the images are pretty noisy.

Has anyone a working GCam after 9.0 update?

I have been using GCam 3.8 previously but last night I got the Pie update and after that the ones I have tested do not work any longer. Any other experiences?

At this time their is no gcam working.
Pie stock camera works much better.

Their is no Google camera port compatible I have tried almost all.
You will need what 6.2 version their suppose to getting compatible with Samsung but at this time still not working.

After one night I brows all XDA forum for GCam in samsung a8 update pie. Every question only one answer. There is no gcam port support now. Please send me ab email if any information when gcam port developed for samsung a8 android pie. Thx

Good morning, very very long time xda luker here, years in fact, so thought I would jump in and join this topic.
Obviously like most of us I've loved using the gcam port on my SM-A530F and now after the 9.0 update I had to go back to the stock samsung camera. So did a bit a of looking around and found this.
MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova_TlnNeun_1.2_test_fix_Exynos.apk
It works. Well I say works, it's extremely buggy, so maybe someone here with a little more knowledge than me can have a play around with it and hopefully (fingers crossed) get it usable.
I'm getting hard restarts when you take a second photo while hdr is processing and in low light conditions it will sometimes crash.
From what I've seen, though I could be wrong and my settings need a tweak but you can't use flash, you can't use front facing camera, and you can't enable motion photo.
Also sometimes when processing hdr it will freeze and you will have to force close and start again.
I'm only after a decent hdr+ back camera, I don't realy care that the front isn't working as to be honest the stock a8 camera is fine for a selfie etc.
Thanks guys, I hope this has helped a little or it might not help at all, but I thought I would share this as it's a version of gcam that doesn't crash on startup and does take photo's we'll sometimes it takes photos. ??

My friend, i found a gcam that works. It can take photos, but after every shot you need to change to video and back. Its zoran gcam. The thing is, the zgcam its just for donators. Look for the telegram group [Galaxy] Official Google Camera and ask for Egoist. He will explain you how to get into the zoran group.

Rear portrait works. Playground needs AR core. To be honest I don't think playground is something I wanna test, seems like a silly thing to me. Motion don't works.

The version I mentioned above does the same, you have to go to settings then back to photo before you can take another shot and also wait for hdr processing to finish.

Confirmed working on SM-G930F!
Can confirm this version of a gcam port works on the SM-G930F, I've not played with the settings yet but I can take photos without any problems!
Let me know if anyone has any settings tweaks to improve this.

This gcam just takes overexposed photos. Too bright. Could not config to be usable.

We are happy to works on SM-G930F, but it is an A8 SM-J530F thread.
I tried the config that you advised and the phone get hard restart when i trying take a picture.

Development in gcam mod for max Pro m2

Devs have done awsome work porting gcam..!many features are working but not all we need developers who Port these mod specifically for our devices there are many threads for gcam mods but in this we would like if some gives us stable mod for our devices the hardware is awsome but no support from the company (not much)
So I request u Devs please improvise the mods for max Pro m2 with all features working like black rider 555 did for Nokia 7plus..…!

if You get Green photos form the front camera... You just go to settings change front camera pixel 3 xl to nexus 6p.

How do we fix the auto rotation of the panorama? It rotates in such a way the it only allows us to take photos sideways. Not up and down

This works amazing but wer did u get it its not available in arnova page for Google ports every options are working front cam and photobooth...!

Ouch. Other units can take photos in panorama in upwards direction by rotating their devices.
The photosphere cant take decent photos. ? I hope there are ways as our units dont have panorama by default.

? Panorama and photosphere have the same quality. If you want to take panorama pictures upwards just download other camera apps that supports it.

Im sorry but photosphere tends to distort pictures as it wants to make pictures a sphere vs panorama, it makes the pictures flat. Or am i using it wrong? Its technically not as good as taking panorama

Use the 3rd setting on the phto sphere. There are many options to choose. The 3rd one is probably you are looking for.

Proper GCam Solution Needed For Redmi Note 7 Pro

I have tried many of g cam version and discoverd that @Arnova8G2 "Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.6.190614.0200.apk" and "GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.5.190418.1850.apk" gives best result But it has the Serious issues of snapping time of pictures are slower & buffers like night sight on my redmi note 7 pro (Running miui 10.3.9 stable stck rom based on android version 9) and don't work 48mp resolution on rear camera.
Can anyone give me a solution for this bug or give me a better g cam version with setting that gives detail result like those version

Instead of loosing time writing all that, look around here and u'll find 2 great cameras : Nxcamera to replace stock cam and a great Gcam version.

I thibk only you have a "stable" MIUI 10.3.9.0
Rest of the community hate that version even it was pulled by xiaomi

Anxcamera is for Custom ROMs I don't thing it's gonna work with MIUI...

This works best for me (10.3.10, global). Enable Hide Icon Movement, use HDR+ enhanced. Slow motion does not work though.

I used suggested file. I find that camera is taking little bit yellow/ pale images. Light is blueish still giving pale photo.
Stock camera is brightening too much. Any solution for this ? can i change that setting?

The provided gcam in above post works like a charm, except slo-mo. Maybe u have a problem with your phone?
Here's a photo i made yesterday evening, no filter used. And not even 48 Mp.
