X2 Headphone Socket - Huawei MediaPad X2

Guys
Has anybody noticed that a standard headphone plug does not fit all the way into their headphone socket?
I have tried several headphones and none go all the way in. I have never experienced this on a phone before.

I use Beats Solo and from my Lg G Pro2 Headphones, all works without a Problem.

in my x2 all headphone jack fits well. there must be some problem in ur set or u can try pushing slightly harder.

How hard can you push before you break something?

I pushed a little harder and was delighted to hear the "click" when the jack went all the way in.
Thanks

[Q] Headphones issue

Hi all.
I'm running in a strange kind of issue.
My HTC headphone seemed not to work any more. That is, my Sensation (both CM9 and ARHD) recognized it as simple headphone, no microphone.
So I got one extra HTC headphone. No way: they just work as headphones without the microphone.
Then I bought a EUR 10.- "compatible" headphones. They worked fine out of the box under both ARHD and CM9. Those are too crappy and the wire on one of the earpieces just broke.
Now my questions.
1. Do you think I just broke 2 HTC headphones or maybe there's some issue with those custom ROMs?
2. Who can it be that a non-HTC, cheap and crappy headphones can work fine?
3. Any hint?
TIA.

Hi,
My BOSE headphone/microphone works fine on ARHD.
Is there any dust or fluff in the headphone socket.
This will stop the pin going in fully, and not work properly.

I've tried the two headphones on another Sensation and they work.
I've tried to use a vacuum cleaner to pump any fluff out of the socket.
But I still get the same: only headphones, no microphone.
This is happening also with CM9.
What the **** is happening to my phone/headphones?

Have a look at the port for your headphone jack. Does it look like the paint is slightly chipped and you can see the silver underneath? Is so then unfortunately like myself you have the issue of the connection shorting as the jack touches the metal case of the phone. This thread might be of some help.

I fear you can be badly right!
I also get the music player started while listening to the FM Radio.
Yes, it looks like a ghost contact!
I'll try to apply solution no.2 as no.1 is pretty ugly!

[Q] Headphone Port Not Working Properly

So, recently, I've been having problems with my headphone jack. Issue is that the audio is all distorted and it sounds like some very bad surround sound setup. I've already tried switching roms and using different headphones. The problem is probably in the Jack itself. If I hold my headphone jack at the correct position with the right amount of pressure on it, the music comes out as it should. I've also tried blowing it out, still noting. What do you guys think I should do? I've seen some links on ebay for headphone jacks going around 20 dollars. I don't even know if it's worth it to repair my G2X as it also has a cracked digitizer.

if it's pressure related (and I don't know if it's possible), but have you checked the solder-joints where the jack is mounted to the pcb?

Or clean the Jack with some compressed air.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I did try cleaning the jack with Compressed air already and nothing changed. I'm going to guess it's something wrong with the solder joins. I ordered a new Headphone Jack and power button combination and also a new digitizer from eBay. Hopefully, they'll arrive and I can replace that part. Thank god the Headphone port isn't mounted to the motherboard of this phone! Atleast LG knows how to build a phone well (Except for the screen bleeding)

Cracked jack

Good day. On my lg p925 jack is broke. Plays only one side of the headphones but when you give it to the correct position - so sometimes both headphones work but it is very laborious. Is there any change to fix it? or need to replace the whole jack? it can be? how much would it cost? I tried to clean the jack but I did not see inside so I do not know if there's anything to mislead but I think that there is something broken inside

you probably have to get it changed completely nd not sure about the price different places ask for different prices
I have the same problem. It's not working because the end of jack (left headphone signal) does not touch the end of the socket. You can apply a tiny drop of tin on the end of headphones' jack (do it very carefully!), it works for me but the sound is not 100% clear.
2nd option: (just theory, I did not tried it): the bottom connector at the end of the socket can slightly bend up and down. You can disassemble the phone, open the socket and put something between the connector and socket's end, so the connector will touch the end of jack.
my jack is very loose and headphones fall
The jack is 3-5 dollars on eBay.
Buy it and open it up. Unplug the connectors. Remove the sim board. Now remove the exposed connectors. Remove the logic board. There you go , headphone jack is exposed. Now remove the old one , it is held in place by a double sided tape. Plug in the new one And close up. About as easy as peeing blindfolded...

Another option is to use a bluetooth stereo headset you would have to charge it everyday but if your not comfortable opening your phone up your could go this route.
sony makes a nice one and philips also I cant post links yet. just search stereo bluetooth headset on amazon.
I have that issue that when I slightly move the jack plug, my phone recognises it as pushing buttons on my headphones, so the player turns off a song or plays next etc.. It's really annoying, because I can't listen to the music when I got phone in my pocket. Do You have an idea how to fix it? I know I can disable the option :listen to headphones buttons" but I want to have it working like in the past.
I had the loose problem that they falled off and headphone acted as buttons too..But I found kinda solution..I never did put the headphones correctly in.. If you look at your phone you shouldnt see the connector. And It should make a click sound when putting in jack.

Headphone Jack Longer Than Headphone Plug

Hi. I purchased a Star Note i9220 n9000 a few months ago and I wanted to plug in new headphones. The headphones that came with the phone fit the jack perfectly and I can hear out of it just fine but when I plug in different headphones, the plug is too short and the jack is too long. Does anyone know where I can purchase an adapter or headphones with a longer 3.5mm plug? I also posted a picture to compare. Notice how the one on the right is a little longer and has 3 ridges instead of two.

No that is not the picture of the earphones, but if it's made by the same company then they should use the same jack and headphones. I bought my phone off Amazon, just look up Star Note n9000. Normal 3.5mm headphones have plugs that are too short, the headphones that came with the phone are still 3.5mm but they are a bit longer. So I need help finding an adapter or headphones that have the special longer plug. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Yes, I know it isn't compatible. That's why I'm trying to find headphones that are compatible with my phone or an adapter that can make it compatible.
Hope This Helps!!

Hey guys, I'm giving up on trying to find headphones that work with my phone. I'll just buy a wireless, bluetooth one now.
Update: I changed my mind, i'm not giving up on trying to find compatible headphones for my phone.
normally 3.5 is 3.5, but from the way it looks these are more like 3.6 or 3.7 so it looks like they have their own headphone type or something

I'm pretty sure that the 3.5mm is the diameter instead of the length. So both of the headphone plugs in the picture are 3.5mm. It's just that the one on the right's length is a little longer than the other one. I really need help trying to find an adapter for this or finding some other headphones with the longer plug. I also figured out what the three rings/ridges on the other plug meant. The third ring is for the microphone. So I tried to find earbuds with a microphone, although i am not sure if all earbuds with microphones have a plug that's longer than standard earbuds.
Hey guys i found some earbuds that might work with my phone.

I am not entirely sure if these will work with my phone but they have the three ridges on the plug that my current headphones have. Please notify me if you don't think these will work or if you think they will.

Not really needed.
The short one: 3.5mm 2 (or 3) conductor stereo jack (TRS - Tip ring sleeve)
The long one: 3.5mm 4 conductor stereo + mic jack (TRRS - Tip ring ring sleeve)
So, all in all, just look on the net for TRRS to TRS adapter. Should run you 10$ at most. They're a bit rare but hey you'll be able to use any headphones with any stereo jack.

both of these types should be the same size, and most phones are compatible with both types, so an adapter shouldn't be neccesary.

Nope. You're wrong.
Edit: I think Apple uses a TRRS connector that is the same size, but that's pretty much the only exception, because surprise surprise it's Apple.
Edit 2: Here's a link for one, for instance: http://www.scansound.com/index.php/4-conductor-trrs-to-3-conductor-trs-3-5mm-adapter.html

Ear phones don't stay in

Hi all.
I use a generic pair of noise-reduction ear phones on my Sony Xperia E3. The earphones are Betron B-25.
They fit into the socket and I can listen, however they don't STAY in the socket. There is no fit, no lock, they easily slip back out. If I'm walking out in the street, the only way to listen is to hold the phone in my hand, to ensure the earphones don't slip out, which happens when I put the phone in my pocket.
Why is this? Do I need to specifically buy Sony earphones? Or just other earphones? Anyone experienced this? I get the feeling other people use non-Sony earphones with no problem.
Help?
Cheers,
Ferdi
Have you plugged it completely? You may have to use a bit of strenght.
