I downloaded Asus Zenfone Lollipop update Rom for someones phone. Its a 600 mb zip file.
UL-ASUS_T00G-WW-3.23.40.60-user.zip I used.
I extracted some apk files to see if they will work in LG G2. Interestingly launcher, mirror, do it later, file manager, minimovie, music, photocollage, quickmemo, clock, sound recorder, supernote, calendar, backup, data transfer, telephone, weather, flashlight, email, powersaver with fc, auto start manager, whatsnext, calculater, galery, setupwizard, supernote, browser, and some more all work without any fc. On cloudys 3.3 rom i could not run asus message and asus contacts but asus dialer works. Dialer has recording option a nice dialer. Maybe someone put all these apks in a zip file and flash it over a Aosp rom but other than a fex things all are working, functioning without any problem. I did not use any lib file, i only either installed apk or put apk to system. Maybe camera, message and some others can work too.
I dont post these here, you can find the zip from asus page. If anyone wants me test something i can. Or i can send apk files if any request.
I only need advice how can i run asus contacts. Deleting lgcontacts or renaming this does not work.
If someone can give me a empty zip file i want to add system folder and flash to see what happens. I dont know how to make zip file.
Good idea! some system apps will work with aosp roms. İf you can share system app I can make a flashable zip
@yken , i'm curious on what API the apks are running? 19 or 21 ?
i know that zip is an lollipop update but some companies uses on lollipop base API19 architecture .
if they are based on API 19 i may get interested in this project

how does incall ui work ?
A few things did not work. Dialer works but contacts and incall iu did not. It starts but does not work, maybe it needs to have lib files or something else. I dont know how to find missing thing if i knew i could try.

The one from stock ROM 2.08.401.1 have glitches of displaying, I just insert the asset file from runny. I haven't seen anyone compalining about this widget, but this is really a helpfull widget!

The word insert should be corrected, sorry, I mean replace it, in windows xp above, rename the apk to .zip and double click then drag out from runny's apk, drag in to sensation's apk, or using 7-zip, right click to open the apk archive, drag and drop to replace.
There is also another glitch of HtcDialer.apk, it is the handwriting panel for Chinese, I fixed it also, not as easy of draging, it has to decompile - modify - compile. I'll upload it if somebody asking for it.

I have done as instructed, it didnt work out as stated. Inserted the asset folder but i didnt work. No widget for location can be found. Any help? Im running stock 3.5final by eddyOS.
Hm... mine is working? I'm using stock ROM, if not working, talk with your ROM cook may help.

The apk is not modified in any other way except using apk manager to optimizing pngs, and then using a script here to repack for optimizing reasons. The assests files I use is from sensation XL (sense 3.5) or which is called ruunymede.
Maybe you can post the modified apk and ill try to replace it on my system?

The one on top right is the extended transparent (accuweather) and the one on bottom right is the asus widget

I guess you could open the custom rom (using 7-zip or apk swapper) go into the system/app folder, delete the accuweather apk and then copy one of the apk provided in this thread.... i tried this way and seemed to work, though i ended up using the stock accuweather....

You can inject the apk into the custom rom zip (using 7zip and/or apk swapper), and then install normally, or, you could just copy the apk in your internal/external memory and use any root-able explorer to install it....

in the very first post you will find a zip with several version of the widget, i believe the original one is also included.
I have only tried the widget with TW.. i guess it should work with NOVA.... give it a shot and let us know how it goes !

Hello, here the transparency for the LG weather widget, work on kitkat 4.4.2.
Just copy the file into system> app with root explorer, set permissions to rw-r-r (like all the other apps in the folder) and reboot

Maybe try looking in system/priv-app or one of the other folders that hold system apps in Kk? (I haven't updated yet so I am not sure exactly where they all are...)

Did you reboot after the app change? If you are on KitKat stock rom (no custom) I hope you are rooted and you give to the app the correct permission!
The mod works on odexed rom because I'm on CloudyPro II rom, but I don't know if it works on "pure stock kitkat"!

Yes, i chmod'ed the app correctly and rebooted before posting. And yes, i'm running a rooted ROM. The only diferencie is that i pushed and copied the app in /system/app vía adb shell (yea, i've done the remount-rw-stuff too).
Another thing I've noticed is that if you remove the apk, you must re-download the original theme. Strange, because nothing was removed prior the apk's copy.

LG Stock Apps
Since some Users had not found my post from the LG Apps in hoangnova's thread, I'm doing a completely new thread so that it is clearer.
I do not know if these apps running on other LG Smartphone or other manufacturers.
Installation:
Aroma installer is coming soon (Today or tomorrow).
Method 1:
1. Install like a normal APK.
Method 2:
1. Download a Folder (for example LGBrowser ) from the Mega Link
2.Move the Folder on yor phone to /system/priv-app ( for example with Es File explorer or Root explorer )
3. Set permissions to drwxr-xr-x(like the other files/ folders in that folder)
4. Reboot !
-4.1 Otherwise you could reboot to custom recovery (TWRP) and fix the permissions, this should work too.
Only tested on LG G3 D855 , think most of these Apps are not supported by AOSP.

-LG Backup (Doesn't work on AOSP roms)
-LG Browser

-LG Camera (Doesn't work on AOSP roms)

Most of OEM's apps won't work on AOSP/CM roms. They need the OEM's framework and the AOSP/CM roms are completely stock (GOOGLE) they don't have anny OEM framework in it so stop asking for "can you make XXXX.apk work on AOSP?". It is useless. Some of them will never work.
