Question about the frame-resp.apk from the X10 leak

I tried to bake my own rom, but ti didn't work. My question is, can I just push the apk. to the phone? Or is it tied to possibly to something else and will not work?

isn't the X10 based on 1.6?? I doubt it wud ever work on the 2.0, let alone the 2.1

of course it can work. the dump needs to be ported first, u can't just push .apk's.. they run on a highly customized framework that is all tied together and inter-related much like HTC sense.

but, you should be able to pull most of the .pngs out of the x10 framework and port it into a theme for 2.0/2.1...

I would like to get theses png too... I search for the launcher png to make my own theme.

Then extract the apks and open them in any archive manager (winrar etc) and look for PNGs in the res/drawable folder. Most system wide stuff is in /system/framework/framework-res.apk

Euhhh, I just downloaded 73Mb file of X10..
I think there is a mistake because once the file uncompressed I get this:
A directory: X10_Donut_100325_01
1 sub-dir: esheep_linux
1sub-dir: LINUX
1sub-dir: android
3 sub dir: external - kernel - system.
If I go under system, i get: core/mtd and there nothing but .c files
I think that was a wrong file a downloaded but I cannot find an other one.
Sorry, but I try my best ;-)

I found some apk but no launcher.apk.
Only launcher.odex and i could'nt unzip it.
For all the other applications, that's OK.

Prob yes, Those are flashable zips so u need to bypass bootloader and get to the recovery console to flash those.

okay first i am unsure why the dialer does that for you mine works fine (also included a screenshot)
and for the icons that you do not like just replace them with the apk's from cyanogenmod
and if you wanted to i could just throw those 2 apk's into a flash-able zip later if i have time (it's my birthday today so i won't have much time in the day pretty much now and later tonight) and my HDD is failing so i've also gotta replace the HDD and restore my data to the new one which i

Ohh, Happy Birthday
I think the problem with the Dialer is with the contacts with long names. I noticed any of my current contacts with short names (included in the Pic -2nd post and noticed in your reply with Pic) are ok. However when the name goes long, it overlaps, it is like trying to go over the outgoing arrow indicator and the Redial arrow as well. Can you noticed that?
Also, strange thing is that it only happens in the call log window, I dont see that going on in the contact list...
Anyway, happy blessings in your BDay, dont get drunk and messup with signing broken zips. LOL J/k..

That is a screenshot of my browser, and a horrible choice for it because it was a screenshot with a screenshot in it. The screenshot in the browser is one from shift_, hit him up for it.

so i saw this post and decided that i want those icons. so i pulled my framework-res.apk from the current ROM i am using (overcome 1.4.4) and modded the files inside.
THOSE ICONS WERE NOT CREATED BY ME. CREDIT GOES TO ORIGNIAL CREATOR (dunno who, i tried to find but couldn't find it)
attached are NON-flashable zips from various ROMS that are available.
More info:
-the widget below the time is minimalist text.
-wallpaper is from this app called wallpapercasa free from the market which i highly recommend. this app has high res wallpapers made specially for tablets.
-"S" icon u see is samba filesharing free from the market as well. best wifi file transfer app IMHO from tab to computer or vice versa.
-from left to right, the icons are: bluetooth, wifi, silent mode, signal strength, battery(%) and alarm.
Credits:
Original creator of those icons.
Natious for his flashable zip.
alterbridge86 for his wonderful ROM.
Galaxyer for VA Green theme and black settings.
DistortedWisdom for blue honeycomb theme.
Biospin for black call settings page.

5. paste the copied framework-res.apk and u will experience FCs and this is normal. DO NOT PANIC.
6. restart tab.
Instructions for Settings with black background:
1. download Blacksettings.zip and extract the apks inside to your sd card
2. copy or move all the apk using root explorer
3. navigate to system/app
4. tap on r/w at the top
5. [optional] backup your Phone.apk/Settings.apk/Accountsandsyncsettings.apk somewhere just in case it doesn't work for your rom. this has only been tested on Overcome 1.6.1
6. paste all apks
Instructions for installing themes ONLY (w/o icons mods):
1. place zip in internal or external sd card
2. boot into recovery

The themes and battery icon mods are 2 different framework-res.apk.
They are works of 2 different people and i will only combine them and post it here when i am free or when >10 people request for it. the screenshots you see are the result of combining them. i do not want to combine them because the original framework might change again when alterbridge releases an update for Overcome ROM and I do not know how to mod it to work on the new framework if that happens. the themes are done by DistortedWisdom and Galaxyer. i will request from them if ever there is an update and post it here. meanwhile i'm still trying to how to theme properly. if i know how i won't bother them again. thanks

you could do that. but you'll have a bunch of FCs. but it'll still work after you restart your tab. do what i did. read the first post. the hijacking method.

like i said i didn't create the icons. i simply repackaged those icon images into my framework. i already repackaged it for BOYPPC-V3 rom. download from first post. framework was contributed by wallah.

i realized that when i charge my tab the animation is screwed up. please check yours. if it's screwed up too, download the flashable zip which i just uploaded. it should fix the problem.

Welcome to the Ultimate Lock Ring Tool for Sense 3.0/3.5!!

Seeing that there are more and more devices are having Sense 3.0 &3.5, and creating and porting Lock Rings manually is really time-consuming, I decided to write a script in batch to do all the hard work!
NOTE: There is a workaround for making lock rings on Sense 3.5 ROMs. Check my thread HERE for more info.
Now coming on to the tool...
Download the attached Lock-Ring-Tool_V3.0.zip from end of this post and extract it to any folder you like.
There will be menus and all instructions on how to use this application are given when you first start the script.
After the script is finished porting or creating the APKs it will ask you if you wish to create a flashable zip. Just choose you selections and you will be presented with a Flash-Me.zip which you can flash in recovery!

In the script, we are prompted to "place your stock APKs in the To folder". Are you referring to framework-res.apk and others? Can you list them?

After you extract images from APK, the images will be found in the Images Folder.

No not those APKs.
I'm referring to Idlescreen_Base.apk and fusion.apk. Both of these can be found in the /system/app folder.

Tried this on the Vivid, choosing the Sensation as the device because they have the same screen resolution. When I attempted the flash, it aborted. Something about an emmc could not be read. I'll reattempt if you want the exact failure.

The flashable zips are device dependent, not screen size. So u will have to put a custom META-INF for other devices that are not mentioned. Soon I will be adding support for more devices.
If you can give me the META-INF folder from any HTC Vivid ROM, I can make a flashable zip for your device.
Would be great if you could also give me the Idlescreen_Base.apk and fusion.apk from the Sense 3.0 ROM and the Sense 3.5 ROM.
With these I'll add support for your Device.

Ok cool.
Yeah the META-INF is only in the ROM zip file, it doesn't get copied on the phone. The folder will be one of the first folders when u unzip the ROM.

I am putting this together for anyone interested in having your clock centered and if you are so inclined a bit of advice on how to change out some statusbar icons I will not be providing the actual icons but will explain how to do so if you are interested.
This should work on any one xl using stock deodexed sense but has only been tested on the att version.
First off you must be rooted and have a deodexed rom installed.
You will need some type of file explorer I use root explorer
You will need this app Zip Themer installed on your phone LINK
Once you have Zip Themer installed grab the attached file and place it in the folder on your sd card named zip themer.
Whats inside the zip? It is a compiled status_bar.xml with the center clock mod applied.
Now run zip themer select +theme and then select the zip you just placed in the folder then select build it when complete you will find two zip files on the root of your sd one called update and one called undo take the the one name update and unzip it inside you will find a systemui.apk.
Take the apk and navigate to system app folder and create a folder name temp.
Place the apk inside now fix the permissions to match the existing systemui.apk
Once you have done that move it to the system app folder it will ask you if you wish to overwrite the current apk say yes and reboot phone and you will have your clock centered.
If something goes wrong the undo folder contains a original copy of your systemui.apk so can replace it.
Now if your feeling more adventurous and wish to change out some icons as well you will need a copy of your systemui on your pc unzip it inside navigate to
res drawable-xhdpi folder you will need this as reference to name your new icons. Unzip the file attached to this post on your pc as well.
Find the icons you wish to use and place them in the systemui res drawable-xhdpi folder that is in the zip I provided make sure to name them exactly as they are named in the origional systemui folder when you have all your icons zip the xml file and the folder and follow the instructions above.
Please do this at your own risk I am not responsible if you brick your phone or anything else.

Statusbar icons that were used in my set up are now attached
For data signal only 4g is themed because that is all I needed I don't get lte and very seldom drop of 4g well actually I have never dropped off 4g since I had the phone. The saturn icons were made by me the other icons were from various sources so credt to those who made them.

oh so I guess this mod will work on my Rogers OneX which is rooted and has an unlocked bootloader?
oh and i'll be a fan of yours if this mod works on my phone with my current setup
EDIT: I guess I don't have a deodexed rom so it won't work

I never tried it on a odexed file but I read through the entire manual for zip themes and no where did it say deodexed just root required. Let me look into some more when I get home.
