Quick question. Not too familiar with dd or Flashify, but I do have Odin. If I renamed the image file Recovery.img and tar'red this image file, could I flash it through Odin?

No, you can not flash recovery.img with Odin.
For Odin download the recovery attached, unrar and flash with Odin.

Much appreciated. Having the Odin option is always handy for us Samsung users, especially when it comes to pre-Knox devices.
PS. I obtained the T310 Odin recovery, but now you've removed it. I can personally confirm it flashed OK. I'm about to use it to Nandroid prior to tossing out the stock software in favor of CM12.

@WhosAsking
Download the T310 and reflash it. The version that I removed was not the latest version ( it was one of my test builts).

Worked just fine once I flashed it with Odin. Seems Lollipop is a little too new for this tab, so I used this to go back to KitKat (the tablet actually had Jelly Bean 4.2 when I first got it, so it's still an improvement).

I attempted to flash this from 2.8.3.0, but it gave me an error.
I thank any assistance.

@nabril15
The zip file from the first post is not flashable. That file was a simple archive.
If you like a flashable file for T310 download this file.

I removed the error from the box in front of F.Reset Time .
and start .install .
I don't know what I did wrong.

@Adams999
Try to deselect Autoreboot and select F. Reset Time. If this in not working, download the. img file and flash it with Flashify ( if you have root; you can root with cf-auto-root and odin) or flash with odin an old recovery and after that you can directy update the recovery with. zip file or with odin.

Sorted it now
If stuck at bootscreen turn off device, then hold power button and volume up to enter standard android recovery mode, then select clear dalvic and clear cache, reboot and that sorted it
i discovered that i can enter cwm recovery
But i made a full wipe, it still doesn't help.
Do i need to flash in offical rom?? Where can i find hk's rom??

If you still have CWM recovery, then your attempt to ODIN the stock ROM did not work.
What version CWM do you have?
Find the stock ROMs here, but make sure your model is p3100 not P3113 or similar.

PhilZ Installation for Arter97 Kernel help

Just got the the Tmobile N920T and am not able to find PhilZ installation instructions to start arter97's kernel process. The download link is broken for version 6 at the developers thread so I'm really not sure how to get this started. Any guidance is appreciated. No SD card so Odin preferred if possible.

Worked like a charm, thanks a lot man!! Looked most promising out so far but confusing as hell for a guy that some what knows his way around. Confirmed with root checker.
Am I missing something?
I can't find "arter97's zip file kernel and supersu "
I downloaded and installed Supersu already from the play store.
I rooted via "noble"
and as of right now I have twrp.
I would like to switch to philz
When I go to Arter97's page I am only able to download a tar file.
There is no zip, and if I try to flash the tar file via odin, odin force closes.
Thanks in advance.

I am experiencing exactly the same issue.
Upgrade to B510 worked (it booted) but after installation of TWRP for MM the phone got into an bootloop. TWRP 2.8.7.0_6 is the only recovery which is able to start, it is impossible to get any older ones to start up. The stock recovery image from B510 is the only stock recovery which is able to start up, also it is possible to force the update for UPDATE.APP s on the internal memory, unfortunately there is no package avaiable which does not fail to install, as there are just partial updates for 6.0 and no full package and all other full packages are 5.1 or less. The downgrade B510-B354 seems to expect system files from B510 and as i got KangvipB354v2A flashed, those are not available. Also my nandroid backup from 5.1.1 won't boot up (does 6.0 expect an other kernel in the boot.img, was the bootloader changed during the update to 6.0?).
So we definitely need to get either one of those files to get our phones working again:
1. boot.img, cust.img and system.img (we've already got recovery.img)
2. or a complete nandroid backup of a working B510
3. or a full version UPDATE.APP of any MM rom
I would really appreciate if someone with a working B510 could provide one of these!

I really appreciate your help.
Which version of TWRP is that? I am unable to use the mobopx tool to flash any backup.
The file flashed fine, but now I am in a boot loop. I am in the US if that matters.
Thank you.

TWRP 2.8.7.0 for MM
if the mobo tool not working then try to flash it using fastboot, any one of this method should work, for me the fastboot flashing of twrp didnt work ,i used mobo tool.
If the issue repeats then try doing it from different pc it should definitely work.
try and let me know.

I finally got it working flashing another backup file over the one in this thread. But I am still having a few problems.....My internal memory is only showing 3.85GB total....I think my other system is still somehow installed or there are residual files I can't see.
WIFI and Bluetooth don't work.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

ROOT-TWRP-UNLOCK BOOTLOADER FOR LENOVO K6 NOTE (K53a48)

I am not responsible if you don't know
what you are getting into and end up messing up your phone
In order to root K6 Note you need to do the following,
1. Unlock boot loader. how to do that follow here >>
http://lenovo-forums.ru/topic/21685-lenovo-vibe-k6-note-разблокировка-bootloader
( It will Wipe all Data)
2. Install Twrp from here>>
http://lenovo-forums.ru/topic/21687-lenovo-vibe-k6-note-rasshirennoe-rekaveri-twrp-by-sevenmaxs/
3. Modify boot image and flash modified boot image with Carliv Image Kitchen from here >>
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/tool-cika-carliv-image-kitchen-android-t3013658
4. Changing Values in boot.img
Unpack the boot image using the above tool, once unpacked go the unpack folder then into ramdisk folder and edit the default.prop using notepad++ or wordpad
Change the value of the following lines
1. ro.secure=1 to ro.secure=0
2. security.pref_harden= 1 to security.pref_harden= 0
(Change only 1 to 0 nothing else & do not forget to save the file )
3.Once done repack the boot image using the above tool.
5 .Flash the modified boot.image through fastboot, how to flash through fastboot refer here>>
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752270
6. Reboot into recovery and flash supersu from here>>
https://download.chainfire.eu/1001/S…perSU-v2.78-20
The supersu installation should be successful now. reboot and you will see supersu app in the app drawer. Cheers :good::good::good::good:
(P.S I have attached the modified boot image for firmware k53_s123_170216_ROW, so no need to modify the boot image if you are on this firmware.)
Where is the attached k53_s123_170216_ROW boot image ?

Boot.img updated. Cheers
Sounds interesting thanks as I keep getting errors trying to flash SuperSU or Magisk.
I'm on firmware k53_s123_170216_ROW so I will be able to use your boot.img but how would one go about getting the boot.img to modify ? The Nandroid backup is in the boot.emmc.win format and the whole partition I suppose ?

Oops so I flashed your boot.img :
tools>fastboot flash boot boot.img

sending 'boot' (24894 KB)...

At the end on the screen it says in green at the top "flashing boot ...", rebooted into TWRP 3.0.3.0 with long "VOL UP+VOL DOWN" + "POWER" press.
Tried to install :
- UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.78-20160905010000.zip (the one you mention)
- SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip
- Magisk-v12.0.zip
But they all fail unfortunately, same error message as before flashing your boot.img :
Magisk12 error :
"Unable to unpack boot.img"
SuperSU error :
"-Extracting ramdisk
--- Failure, aborting"
My model is K53a48

ok, I updated to TWRP-3.1.0.1_K53a48_by_SevenMaxs.7z and I was able to flash SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip without errors. All booted up and SuperSU in the app drawer and rooted, thanks for the tips, man !
A few more questions if I may :
- is there a stock recovery to put back the K6 Note in factory mode ?
- how does one go about getting the boot.img out of a device for patching ?
If will not modify the boot.img what will gonna happen?
Thanks to this furom....Really help for me

Big Question
If I will not patch the boot.img and flash the new 3.1.0.1_K53a48_by_SevenMaxs.7z and then flash the
SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip
will it be successfull?
Yeah I can't flash SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip
In old twrp...SuperSu App never apper in my home drawer...
---------- Post added at 06:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:06 AM ----------
Do you have a custom kernel?
Why don't you want to use the patched boot.img ?
You tried with the new TWRP-3.1.0.1 and it doesn't work ?

You cannot flash supersu without the modified boot image.
You need to flash the recovery and modified boot image to successfully flash supersu.

To receive OTA's you need to be on stock recovery, and stock boot image without any modification to the system partition.
Can the stock recovery be downloaded anywhere ? Thanks !

as for custom roms i dont think thats gonna happen anytime soon, and there is nothing like official custom recovery, there is only custom recovery like TWRP or CMW.
Hi there, mate. If I do this process, will I be able to remove TWRP if needed (for updating reasons), if so, what would the process be?

So you can't reflash the original recovery ? So that means no more OTA updates, but would it still work with an official update that was downloaded, assuming one becomes available ? Thanks !
adilrenzu
I was able to unlock bootloader, installed twrp and root according to your guide
and
also successfully returned to original stock 6.0 rom, stock recovery according to androidmtk's Lenovo_K53_USR_S107_1609131839_Q00380_ROW firmware.
This is a new toy for me now. Many thanks...
Can you explain how you went back to stock?
