well this is interesting whenever I try to flash the stock firmware for my Moto G xt1031 ... it goes into a boot loop upon it saying "starting services" the only fix I found is to install a custom ROM... and I also cannot activate it with boost since I want to sell this phone.
Look for correct firmware for your Moto..
And local firmware..
Need more info...
What firmware are you flashing?
What's your system version?
What's your bootloader version?
Did you erase userdata?
Did you flashed the lollipop soak test?
Did you "upgrade" your bootloader?
Are you getting any errors when you flash the stock firmware?
Are you flashing with fastboot or mfastboot?

Right guys here's what's going on....
I converted my UK retail XT1032 to the GPE rom using the Moto Tool AIO, Managed to do it just fine, upgraded to the 4.4.4 GPE OTA and as I wanted to sell this phone on I wanted to restore the stock Moto G UK firmware, however it soft bricks every time I try.
Basically the GPT partition from the UK 4.4.2 stock Motorola firmware refuses to flash.
As due to that not flashing the system files, boot image and motoboot image basically fail to flash and the system files come up with "Invalid PIV image" or something close to that.
Can anyone help me to figure this out?
Thanks in advance.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. Has anybody got a fix?
hello guys,
please tell me how to relock Moto G 1st Gen's bootloader, so i can get lollipop OTA, because i got an error!
I've stock rom, i'm just unlock and root my device.
:crying:
No need of locking boot loader.Just flash full stock firmware along with stock recovery.Or try flashing 5.0.2 firmware instead of flashing stock kitkat+ota

you may have downloaded wrong firmware.
And you need to use mfastboot.exe.
try http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/firmware-firmware-lollipop-retail-t3017383
where did you bought that phone??? asia retail version??? what is your phone model? xt1033?? xt1032?? gpe version.
Download right version firmware & try flashing again

Grab one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-rom-collection-t2854688 and flash via recovery. Reboot then do the ota!
I tried to downgrade my moto g from GPE (converted it) to stock rom like it was before, and now it is stuck on bootloader screen with the "warning bootloader unlocked..." sign. Every rom I try to install has now the same problem, even the GPE rom. What should i do now?

Are you on the 41.18 bootloader? If you are, don't flash the motoboot.img file as you can't downgrade the Lollipop bootloader (41.18).
Did you flash all img files including gpt?

Try flashing the 5.0.2 fastboot firmware image for your model:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58534609&postcount=519
Try re-installing GPE 4.4.4 using fastboot and then install stock 4.4.4 using fastboot.
Okay so my moto g is on lolipop gpe converted, but i want to go back stock. i know how to flash it and stuff but is there a chance i can brick it due to bootloader differences or anything? like how do i go about this do i need 4.4.4 or is 4.4.2 ok? thanks. *URGENT*
To be safe, flash a 4.4.4 ROM but don't flash motoboot.img even if you don't have the 41.18 bootloader.
I was able to flash my xt1032 with the 41.18 bootloader back to stock Telus 4.4.4. I was even able to flash stock US Retail 4.4.4. I never tried 4.4.2 and I never flashed motoboot.img.

how do i know if its 4.4.4 or 4.4.2??
You'll have to look at the Moto g firmware names. Sometimes, you have to guess. It;s important because you want to ensure that the modem in your phone supports the ROM and carrier.
Do you have the xt1032 (i.e. falcon)?

yeah mate thats the one
What bootloader is on your phone? If you have the 41.18, you'll experience the ripple effect on your phone until you lock/unlock your phone using the lockscreen.
Is it possible to downgrade the bootloader for my moto g from lollipop to a KitKat compatible version?
The mobile radio active bug is draining my battery quite badly and I want to go back to KitKat to get rid of it.
I'm on the using the XT1032
It's completely unnecessary to even touch the Bootloader. Every time you do anything with it, you risk destroying your phone.
Simply flash the Factory Firmware Image from here: (excluding the command to flash motoboot.img (Bootloader))
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/index-moto-g-falcon-factory-firmware-t3110795
Or flash one of these zips via Custom Recovery (TWRP):
