Alright, so my MOTO g is from Malaysia and the other day I unlocked my bootloader and changed the phone to GPE and somehow got one sim to work. I realized my phone feels a little laggy and I tried reverting back to stock rom using Retail Taiwan version from the official motorola firmware link as it's the only Asia Retail which has umtds which is dual sim... It doesn't have kitkat firmware for dual sim as yet.. Flashing a single sim rom doesn't work. I was able to flash the taiwan version(4.3) of stock rom successfully but when I tried to update OTA it failed and then I tried to sideload the update and even that failed :crying: I really need some help to get back to stock kitkat.

Flash stock ROM
Salam, macammana engkau flash stock motorola rom dekat moto g, aku try x leh nk flash drpd paranoid android..
Hi!
Recently i started to "play" with my new moto G, i unlocked the bootloader and i flashed some roms but...
Yesterday i decided to restore my phone to stock firmware but when i was trying to restore using this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
I received 2 warnings.
1. When i was trying to flash gpt.bin, fastboot screen shows a message like "Downgrade for tz" or... Something like that.
2. When i was trying to flash motoboot.bin... Other issue was displayed (like in the point one), this time was something like this: "Downgrade for xxxx".
Really i dont remember the exact messages
I continue flashing the next files and installation ends succesfully but...
I dont trust in that errors... Its normal??
My phone is XT1032 in Telcel MX.
I flashed 4.4.2 and then via OTA 4.4.4
motoboot.bin is the bootloader. You are effectively trying to downgrade your bootloader and get that error because of that. If you flash a 4.4.4 firmware image you will not see this.

No, that's the partition table - the partition structure for the phone's storage.

Jeje ok, im really noob with this phone and this errors are new for me.
I suppose that gpt isnt flashable with an unlocked bootloader, right? Or why this error appears?

If you flash a 4.4.4 firmware image you will not see any error messages. They are being caused because you have the latest bootloader and are attempting to flash a firmware that is not 4.4.4.
You do not need to unlock the bootloader to flash the Motorola firmware images.

Its the same page where i download the stock firmware, my provider (Telcel) just have here the 4.4.2 and one week ago they roll out the 4.4.4 via OTA.
Can I use another soft, like retail us or brazil? Or this change could bring problems with my phone company?

If you look through the comments in that thread you will see 4.4.4 image links. This post has the Telcel Mexico 4.4.4 image:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55131440&postcount=380
If you have an XT1032, you should be able to flash any XT1032 firmware (including GPE) and still use your current provider.

Hi Guys,
I just received the XT1033 Lollipop notification and clicked upgrade.... Unfortunately the upgrade failed and I suspect perhaps that's because I have clockworkmod installed instead of the stock recovery?
Where do I go from here? How do I get my phone so the upgrade installs successfully?
I'm in New Zealand if that matters. Not sure if you get a different OTA update per country?
Also note, the phone is still working fine (ie not bricked or anything), just the upgrade is failing to install
Flash a stock ROM or gpe and upgrade from there.

Which ROM, does it matter?
I keep seeing stock roms for Brazil/India/Asia, but I live in NZ so I'm not sure what to install. There doesn't seem to be any NZ roms
Plus none of the links in "how to restore to stock" tutorials and faq's seem to work anymore
Can you point me in the right direction please?
You can still install official lollipop if your phone has bootloader unlocked and custom recovery but I would suggest starting from scratch. If you bought phone from anywhere in Asia then flash stock asian KitKat ROM and if you bought it from Brazil then flash stock Brazilian KitKat rom. After that you can update your phone to official lollipop.
PS- there is no NZ ROMs for xt1033. Only Asian and Brazilian. It depends on the region from where you buy the phone, not where you live.
I bought it in NZ...
Aha! I found in the phone settings it says 210.12.40.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03
Asia rom it is then, I'll go try it out

Hi,
the title says it all:
How can I apply the 5.0 OTA update on a rooted, unlocked Moto G XT1032 with CWM recovery?
I don't care about root anymore and I have used SuperSU to unroot the phone.
But in order to apply the update I need to install the stock recovery, otherwise the device will get stuck in a bootloop.
How do I do this? I have tried using MotoToolAIO and its "Flash Stock Recovery KitKat" button but get a
Code:
hab check failed for recovery
message every time I try.
Could you guys please tell me how to get the stock recovery installed on this phone? As I said I don't care about losing root and I don't mind relocking the phone if necessary. I would really appreciate any pointers you can give me. Possibly without losing my data & apps. Thank you.
This page apparently is supposed to contain all those stock files but it is broken: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14
This manual seems to be helpful for similar cases, it did not help me, though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Download the stock 4.4.4 ROM for your phone, extract the recovery.img file, and flash it using fastboot commands.
You also need to be unrooted with the stock Motorola apps.

If you think that solves the proble, well...yes. But where do I find that file? As I indicated the only possible source seems to be unavailable currently. I can't find any other.
Does anyone here have an XT1032 DE singleSIM recovery image lying around?
As I am currently living in South Africa and internet is not reall stable it would be amazing if someone could offer just the recovery file instead of the whole 500-600MB dump.
I have a Canadian xt1032 running stock Telus 4.4.4 firmware. Not sure if that recovery would work but I could find it if you want to try it.
Don't forget to unroot too.
I unrooted too using SuperSU and managed to restore the stock recovery using MotoTool (find it on XDA). These are the basic requirements for installing an OTA. But after the OTA is downloaded and I try to install it, the process starts and in about 10 seconds it displays "Error" and boots to 4.4.4 again. Any recommendations?
^^did you remove any of the stock Motorola apps?
No, and Motorola Update Services is updated to the last version.

I doubt it - and fear what might happen if it goes wrong, to be honest. But thanks a lot for the offer. I was able to locate a Retail package for the DE version and will try to download the whole beast, hoping that the connection is stable for these 3 hours.
Even though nobody answered me, I found out what's going on. Lollipop OTAs cannot be installed on modified devices.
You could try out some custom ROM if you are unable to get the official 4.4.4. Carbon and CM11 are some customs ROMs I know of.
There are great unofficial ROMs on the moto g xda forum too!! Don't forget to have a look.

I'm thinking of Resurrection Remix 5.0.2
You could also check out mokee, crdroid, xperience. And don't forget to check out the ROMs in the forum list

One question man. I have 4.4.4 installed. Do I have to install stock 5.X in order to get lollipop bootloader before installing any ROM?

how did you manage to un-modify your device? I just bought the Moto G (2013) and have unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP and haven't had any luck installing ANY firmware after 4.4.4.... I'm always getting stuck on the bootlogo and have to return back to stock 4.4.4...

You need to have factory firmware and recovery installed in order to update via OTA.

Unlocking your bootloader does not affect your eligibility for OTA
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/91999/p/1449,8620
What does affect your OTA eligibility is your root and the custom recovery. First unroot using super su app and then flash stock recovery.
Am I right in assuming you are on stock ROM?

Unlocked bootloader is no problem for ota, flash twrp backup for stock rom when you first enter twrp( if you take back up ) and reboot, then flash stock recovery via fastboot ,then you can unroot and get ota without problem, refer this in xda. Otherwise Flash stock firmware and get ota.
You can update to 6.0 with an unlocked bootloader, but you can't update to 6.0 with a rooted device. Fastboot your stock ROM and then take the OTA. No need to relock the bootloader.
