[Q] IOS style theme for lollipop, Yes or NO ? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so i wold like to start working on an IOS style theme, I know xda is heavily android dominated but would you guys be interested in trying out an IOS style theme, Im not a pro theme but i can give it a shot

Personally. No from me

I'd be down with it. The more themes, the better. But if you can, make it for RRO. There's a ton of iOS theme chooser themes, but none for Layers.

Agreed.
Not everyone one will use it, but go for it. There are plenty that will use it.

Ugly jellybean notification drawer.

I like jellybean a lot but why did Google change the theme of the notification drawer. It doesn't match with the rest of holo at all. The other pet peace I have is camera apps animation when you take a picture.

Quit complaining about innocuous aesthetic nonsense, and just be happy you have the latest Android OS...some of us are still waiting for updates from GB. Sheesh, some people just want it all, don't they? :banghead:

The grey in the new drawer looks horrible on many amoled screens. Poor choice for the galaxy nexus. It looks very out of place and inconsistent. Its one of like two aesthetic changes they made. The way it looked in ice cream sandwich fit the look perfectly. The new one doesn't look like the rest of the is at all.

I haven't looked at this stuff you say, will check it out when I get jb. You're the first I have heard complaining, though, but different people have different taste

I like it, and it is inconsistent. I believe there will be more graphical changes coming to the OS to match the notification curtain.

So dig in and learn to change what you don't like. Personally I think every theme Google has made is not only ugly but made by some that is color blind. So what did I do. I went and learned how to change it and now I have one of the most in-depth detailed themes around. It is not that hard. It is what android is all about. Learning to make it what you want it to be.

Well then it looks like you should get started lol. Hell you could dig in and do a theme Chooser theme that will work with any rom that supports it. While I am not a fan of it myself all you can do is theme it like every other Google release. Having a phone look the way you want it is a never ending cycle. If you know how to theme then you should know this by know. A few XML edits, some new icons and a couple remade .9.pngs and you will have what you want. With the right tools you can have any roms pull down match what you want in 5 min after getting the rom

I guess it's really a matter of opinion. I don't care for the status bar icons but the rest of the theme isn't bad. What makes you say it isn't worth the money?

Wow!!! Somebody has issues. If you don't like the theme start a thread on the one you do. How is it horrible? Its the most COMPLETE theme period. I am an idiot who continually buys these themes so I feel I am somewhat a decent judge. You can say I don't like it, or not my style. But to say its horrible is misleading. I look all the time at themes that cost and actually theme very little. This guys work is legit. Imho

What makes it horrible? It's not like there isn't much themed or anything. If the creator of the theme was charging people for subpar work or lack of stuff themed then I'd agree with you but he clearly isn't. If it's not your style that's fine but it doesn't make it horrible. The theme you linked is a nice theme but I think it's kind of bland. It's not my style but I'd never say it's horrible.

I have to agree. I don't see what would possibly make it horribe.

Is Google making Android to look as IOS?

Hi, I was a iphone user 3-4 years ago. Then I realized I want more and Android was there with all the customization. And I own a LG G2 and it has anything and everything customizable. Its a perfect phone and I had all the Nexus4, Gs4, Galaxy Note 2 this year. And i just ordered 3 Nexus 5's. But more and more I look at Nexus 5 its reminding me of Apple IOS. Google is making it too simple and boring. Good thing we have all the Dev's that can do so much. What u guy's think? Is Google making Android to look like Apple's IOS? And Apple on the other side is making IOS look like Android. Dont fight only opinions. Thanx to everyone.

I definitely disagree, and I'm not sure where you're getting "Google is making it [Android] too simple and boring." What has been removed in 4.4, or otherwise overhauled so completely that you are getting this impression?
There's only so much "difference" you can have between 2 companies who are using a desktop-environment with a grid of icons as the major way to navigate through the ecosystem.

Well, 5. And, unlike Apple, you have the choice of downloading and using a different launcher. Many different launchers allow you to define how many icons you want vertically and horizontally in the grid, and even in the dock.
I know we can do that, but im talk i ng about stock phone however google ships.

How are they similar? Please explain. Just posting a screenshot and saying they are similar doesn't do much for your argument. I can think of many reasons why they aren't. Though The page dots addition looks very iOS and the Google now to the left is similar to how iOS used to have spotlight on the left. Only spotlight was the laggiest, slowest, most useless thing ever when Google now on the left is absolutely genius.

After using the G2 LG UI or the Samsung's TW. With so much useful thing's. Like showing percentage battery, thats just a simple thing and plus too many usefull features. Like on lg changing the icon sizes . Anyway maybe the manufacturers doing lots of things better making important things available on their versions of the phones. There are so many features that its hard to write them all.

Yep. iOS7 made more leaps to looking like Android than vise-versa. Some things in ios7 are hard to distinguish from Android like the lock-screen, wallpaper, calculator app. I'm sure there are more but I don't use ios.
My guess is that in time they will mostly just look the same.
its looks nothing like IOS nothing....................

Yep it is Apple that removed all the glassy effects on icons, menus, buttons etc.. to make them more flat 'à la android'
No such thing because android is open source and you can always do much more than what ios can when it comes to customization and free market on the play store.
So no its nothing even close.

[Q] iOS 7 Rom?

After hard search, I can't seem to find an iOS 7 rom. One that actually looks aesthetically pleasing. I know, I know. Why would you want iOS on an Android, but what's wrong with having the best of both worlds?!!?
iOS is gorgeous. It honestly is. But nothing beats the customization on Android. So if someone can help me out and show me something. I know MIUI has a iphone themed rom but I don't really care for it. I want the new iOS.
Thanks!

To each their own. Avoiding IOS is why I don't have an iPhone. I have no problem with their hardware.
Anyway, try looking for IOS7 launcher / ilauncher as apps. Maybe even a theme chooser theme if you just want the visuals. I looked real quick at some themes, but I didn't think they looked very good.
Good Luck.

Yeah, I didn't find much. Most android developers stay away from it. Which kind of surprises me. You'd think with so much variety among us, wed find someone making an iOS 7 ROM. To be honest, I love the look of iOS, BUT I will never give up he customization and endless possibilities. To each his own though, right? Thanks for the reply!

Bro i was actually serious. you will probably never see a better rom than MIUI that can look like ios. and i guarantee you will never see ios7 ported to this phone. it is tough enough to get different andoid phones ported to another phone. the ONLY fool proof way to get ios7 is to buy an apple product. i wasn't trying to be a ****. sorry if you took it out of context.
