quick help needed! - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys, was gonna update to a 5.1.1 rom but i forgot to transfer the rom files into the phone before flashing the modem and bootloader.
twrp doesnt seem to let me use mtp mode to transfer large files either. anyone has any workarounds?
my current game plan :
1) download 5.1.1 (XXU2BOFJ) firmware from sammobile and completely flash the firmware over download mode with odin
(do i load it in AP? i forgot)
2) boot the phone, transfer roms
3) flash twrp in odin, go into twrp and wipe data/cache
4) flash rom.
am i on the right track? thanks!

Alternative is to connect your S6 to a PC and flash via odin.

help with soft brick

Hello,
I used to have safestrap on this phone. The phone did recieve the OTA 4.3 update.
I went into saftestrap recovery and chose to wipe data and cache... because I wanted to delete all user data from the phone.
Now the phone wont boot. it freezes at the galaxy logo upon boot.
I can access recovery, and download mode.
SO can I go into download mode and flash the stock 4.3 firmware via ODIN?? if so Im having a hard time getting this file from http://samsung-updates.com/details/30088/Galaxy_S_3_Verizon/SCH-I535/VZW/I535VRUDNE1.html
Eidt: I did find the i535vrudne1 download at a different site. So would it be safe to push this via Odin?
Edit: I downloaded the firmware here http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyS3/SGH-I535/4.4.2/I535VRUDNE1_I535VZWDNE1_VZW.zip
I pushed it via ODIN, and I'm all good. The phone is up and running stock firmware
Thanks for posting another site for the download the first one was taking forever!!!

[HELP] Soft-bricked Galaxy S6 G920F [Solved]

Hello everyone. So, let's start by explaining what I have did.
For a while I had the XtreStolite Odex 2.0 edition and I wanted to try out other ROM. I have factory reset-ed when I was installing the ROM using TWRP and I somehow managed to delete all the phone's internal stuff, but I can still boot to TWRP or download mode.
I have tried to flash stock firmware using Odin 3.10.6 ( running as administrator too ) and when it gets to sboot.bin it fails right away. I have tried using Samsung Smart Switch PC Software, tells me my device is unsupported. If I try to manually find my model using the S/N, the software fully downloads then gives me an error.
I have tried to ADB sideload from TWRP Advanced menu, whenever I want to flash for example xtrestolite odex zip ( named rom.zip for short ) it goes "serving:... 21%" and gets stuck. If I try to push a zip it says "error:closed". I am no big expert in ADB, I don't know how to install the latest version, and I can't download the full Android SDK because my internet is very slow. I had Bootloader and Modem 5.1.1
I am looking for a way to move the XtreStolite ROM zip into the phone's memory so I can boot to TWRP and install the ROM. I've seen something with OTG Cable and USB but I have no real knowledge of these. If it comes as a last resort, if someone could briefly explain me how would I manage to repair the phone using the OTG Cable and USB stick.
I also have a Nandroid Backup on my PC but I don't know how to move it to the phone's storage, because it's well, bricked. When I'm trying to copy files over Mount option in TWRP, it says that it cannot copy the file, the device may be disconnected.
I had Bootloader and Modem 5.1.1, also Windows 10. I can go back to 7 or 8.1 anytime it's needed.
Much appreciations.
EDIT: I actually repaired it by flashing a stock firmware downloaded from xda ( God bless you whoever linked the mega.co.nz stock fw link ) . Thread can be deleted.
You can also flash these via odin.

Still on 4.4.2 official but rooted. Update???

Hi,
I have a note 3 still on official 4.4.2 but rooted. Since a few days my battery starts draining fast. Maybe it's time to update. Or is it not profitable for such an old device to upgrade to whatever the latest version is?
What is the latest official version for the note 3? And what is the best way to get that? Just unroot and use the update from the system?
You could use a different kernel or try a custom ROM.
Well a few years ago I was change roms constantly on different phones. That was 3 years ago. Now I am not into roms anymore just need a stable phone. Besides I have really no clue how the room installing these days work. Just install from zip in recovery?
Can I do that safe from 4.4.2?

Yes, but you would have to update your bootloader and modem through Odin first for Lollipop and Marshmallow based ROMs to work and boot on your phone.
Running Kitkat bootloader won't make your phone bootup on Lollipop and or Marshmallow based ROMs.
You need a custom recovery of course before flashing a ROM ; TWRP , CWM or PhilZ
(TWRP Method)
Factory Reset your Phone.
Clear Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, Data.
Do not select Internal Storage and Micro SD card, if you do, storage on both internal and external storage would be erased.
I recommend using TWRP 2.8.7.0 as the latest version which is the 3.0.2.0 does not support Aroma Installer.
After you have Factory reset and cleared dalvik cache, system, cache and data.
Now do this
1) Boot into recovery
2) Flash ROM
Done.
With SuperSU ;
1) Boot into recovery
2) Flash ROM
3) Flash SuperSU

OK the so I have to flash 2 times the same rom? Which is the best rom that comes closed to an official untouched one?
I don't understand how to flash the bootloader. Is that installing from recovery? Using install from zip?
For installing bootloader and modem you have to flash with odin.
If you search google then you can find the method how to do it and for bootloader and modem search any latest version of custom rom.you will find the links.

OK so first flash bootloader and modem in Odin. So my rom is still 4.4.2. After that.
Then flash a recovery. Still phone is on 4.4.2
Then flash a rom. ....

In my opinion i would say flash lollipop firmware first before you should root it all by odin

Flash bootloader and modem on Odin, it doesn't matter whether you are on Kitkat.
SM-N9005 bootloader and modem :
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/firmware/hlte_SM-N9005XX/N9005XXUGPOK2/
Steps before installing a ROM:
1) Download both bootloader and modem from the link given above.
2) Switch off your Phone
3) Boot phone into Download mode by pressing home button and volume down button
4) Connect phone to computer
5) Open up Odin
6) Click on BL and select BL_N9005XXUGPOK2_BOOTLOADER
7) Click on CP and select CP_N9005XXUGPOK2_MODEM
8) Click Start
-----------------------------------------------
Once done, here's how to install a ROM
You have to download a ROM and STORE IT INTO YOUR PHONE before doing this
1) Download TWRP 2.8.7.0
2) Connect phone to computer
3) Open up Odin
4) Click AP, browse to where you have stored the TWRP file/zip and click on it
5) Press Start
6) Switch off Phone and boot into recovery mode by pressing ; Power button, volume up, home button at the same time. Hold it till you feel the phone vibrates twice.
7) Wipe Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, Data and FACTORY RESET.
DO NOT SELECT INTERNAL STORAGE AND MICRO SD CARD.
8) Flash ROM
9) Reboot
-----------------------------------------------
Installing a ROM depends, if it doesnt have GAPPS you have to download it.
If it doesn't comes in with SUPERSU you have to download it. Example ;
Flash ROM
Flash GAPPS
Flash SUPERSU

Don't forget to backup ur whole nandroid before do anything n save it to ur drive computer, trust me
U can use twrp/cwm or flashfire
Stay on 4.4.2, reset to factory, backup first, your battery will be even worst on Lillipop or Marshmellow.
Get a new battery
Just update to 5.0.1, if you still have issues, flash a rom. Also this should've been posted in the Q&A section, or a search would've worked.
Ok I updated now to lollipop thru kies. All went well. Thinking about upgrading to Marshmallow.

No operating system in my phone

Hello
I rooter and install TWRP on my galaxy note 5 (SM-920P) with success.
after I started my phone on recovery mode to install a custom rom
in the wipe menu I mistakenly checked the internal storage space.
after I found that my phone does not contain an operating systhem it contains TWRP
I tried with oden to install official firmware but its not working
please please what is the solution?
thank you
What error did u get on ODIN. It should work. Choose to reboot to download mode from TWRP and flash via ODIN.
If not, Find an OTG cable, put a Custom rom ZIP in a USB drive and install via twrp from OTG SUB drive.
Thank you
