[Q] Can't sideload with obb to Chinese S6 (no GApps), tried all?? - General Questions and Answers

Hi all, I hope some Android guru can help me out here as I'm getting a bit desperate by now. I have a Chinese S6 Edge without GApps, in particular, no Google Play Store and services available nor possible (unless I root which I don't want). I tried downloading a few small games from Google Play Store via the evozi web page and that worked alright. But bigger games (for instance my favourite game Shadowgun DeadZone) needs more than an apk. They need obb files, which the apk normally tries to download upon installation and first-time run. As far as I know, the procedure is:
1. Download apk
2. Download obb folder with obb file in it
3. Install apk (don't run)
4. Copy obb folder to Android's obb folder
5. Run game (sometimes with WiFi switched off)
Now I tried downloading apk+obb from my old S4, from my wife's LG and from various internet sites (apkpure, apkuilizer, apk4fun etc), but so far only one ancient version of Dead Trigger worked, all other games failed (various versions of Dead Trigger, Dead Trigger 2, Shadowgun DZ, many other games), Most of them get to a loading or opening screen and then they just exit with a popup aaying "Unfortunately XXX has stopped".
Can anyone tell.me what am I doing wrong here??

Problems with gameboid?

Hey everyone. I was playing some games on VBA (gameboy advance emulator) on my PC. About halfway through the game I saved the game (.sav file) and transferred it to my Xperia Play so I could continue on gameboid.
The import worked great and I was able to play while traveling. Problem is now I want to switch back to the PC and gameboid wont save my game (battery save) - it will only save using a save state.
I cant find any way to load the save state in any emulators on the PC. I read on a couple places that you couldnt battery save using the lite version of gameboid. So I checked to see if I downloaded the wrong one. Looks like I didnt - Gameboid 2.4.7. I obtained it via a QR code from the developer's site since it isnt on the marketplace anymore.
Any ideas here?
Fix
I had a similar issue using an emulator as well. It happens when you try to use a save from a different device. I found out that you need to fix the permissions if you do this. Basically it works like this:
- [Device One] You install the emulator, load a rom, and save your data.
- Copy the .sav to [Device Two] load a rom, then save OVER that .sav
- Copy the .sav BACK to [Device One] load rom, load save (works fine) but overwriting doesn't work.
when this happens you need to set the permissions of the .sav, and of the folders that contain it and it will work fine again.
Hope this helps.

Play GameBoy Advance Games on Your HTC Desire

1 go to the android market and download Gameboid lite (free)
2 now download a "bios" for the emulator (link removed)
3 next step go to (link removed) download the roms "games" you want
4 extract the game/rom file from the folder you downloaded using a program like "winrar" easily found on google
5 save bios and extracted games onto your memory stick, i suggest creating a new folder called GBA or something and putting them in there for convenience
6 right with all of your stuff saved onto your memory card open gameboid and firstly it will ask you to locate the bios file from your memory card, simple enough you just browse the card, next it will ask you to select the game you want to play, after done that you can take it from their you will see a settings menu you dont need to change anything
7 one exited the setting menu your free to play.
NOTES
*games save
*i sugest downloading pokemon red if you used to play the pokemon games
* should work on other models i just have the desire
*game play is smooth and just as fast as it was on the gba
*download many games as the file sizes are unbelievably small

Candy Crush Saga Install Issue

I realized I posted this in the wrong section and I'm trying to delete it but the DELETE option is not available. If a Mod can please remove this post I will appreciate it. I'm posting this on the Q & A section.
Hello everyone.
I'm having an odd issue with Candy Crush Saga on my Android phone.
I have "installed" the game by 1. downloading it directly from the playstore and 1mobile app store. 2. downloading the .APK file and running it from my phone directly and it says it installs successfully either way but when I start the game, all I get is a black screen and the game music.
I then decided to check for the game files in my phone to see if something was missing and oddly enough, I can't find the game ANYWHERE in my phone. I looked under Android/Data and it's not there and there is no data/data folder at all.
I don't know where the game is being installed but it's obviously there because I can "run it" and uninstall it.
Does anyone know what could be wrong? would it be possible to just copy the data/data/com.king.candycrush folder directly to my phone to make it work? if so, is anyone kind enough to supply me with a zipped data folder of the game files so I can download it and place it in my phone?
Thanks, any helps is greatly appreciated.
I am having a similar problem to you when trying to install Candy Crush Saga on my Kindle Fire.
I searched on the amazon/android site via the kindle to find and install the game but the exact Candy Crush Game did not show up to download and install( which really surprised me considering how popular the game is right now ), so I searched the web and found it and downloaded the .apk file to my pc. I have added the .apk game file to the kindles internal storage folder and then used 'es explorer' to install and play the game.
The problem I have is that the game icon does not appear on the home screen carousel to start the game again or add it to my favourites, so I have to go through es explorer and start the game that way which is a pain, but its doing my head in as to why the game icon does not appear in the home screen carousel because it is installed and can be unninstalled.
If anyone knows a solution to this please post below and put my mind at rest.
Cheers!

File system unusable after Android 10 update

Edit: The issue has solved itself somehow. Some restarts may have solved both the file problem and the play store problem, but they were present after the latest restart, for a period of time.
After updating my LG V50 to Android 10, I can no longer use any file-browsing-like app, such as the built in file browser, any image gallery, etc; any app that would search the camera roll either crashes or shows nothing. I have a music playing app that still can play the music that I have saved on the phone, but when looking at where the song list should be shows nothing.
Additionally, my Google play store isn't functioning properly, though I'm not sure how related this is. The play store app crashes after using it for about 20 seconds, and can't download any new apps (including updates to the play store itself). Normally I would install an older/newer version of the play store via third party .apks, but whatever process installs new apks also seems to not be able to access the file hierarchy. When attempting to directly install an .apk file, a message appears which reads, "Unable to scan %1$s."
I'd like to use the file system, and install apps again. Any help with either issue is appreciated.
