Has anyone received any information as to why a recovery image for 2.2.2 was released but no OTAs have been uploaded?
I've tested out the image and it seems legit. The build number (29979_541.7190) seems to support my assumption that this build was legitimately made before 3.0, but the lack of an OTA seems very odd.
Hm, I can't seem to flash it. The error I get is always that system.img exceeds free space or something like that. Did you also encounter this problem? If you've successfully installed it, how does performance compare to 2.2.1 as well as the pulled 3.0? Thanks in advance.

I was able to flash it although it seems to be worse than 3.0. Haven't had 2.2.1 in awhile so I won't try to compare it.
Someone in my DB thread mentioned that an NVidia rep said that 2.2.2 is the image that new tablets are shipping with. It seems to be pretty similar to 2.2.1 as it does contain Android 5.0.1. 2.2.2 does seem to be noticeably laggier than 3.0. Although your issue is interesting, I wouldn't bother with finding a solution as 2.2.2 isn't worth it IMO.
Yeah, I flashed the 3.0 again because it worked well enough for me.

I just flashed back to stock from prime via my nandroid backup, but its still using the moobox kernel. Needless to say, certain things are a bit buggy. Do I just flash Eee_PAD_TF101_Kernel_Code_8_2_3_9.zip from the Asus site or do I need something else? Thanks!
I'm not getting impatient, but I am wondering why its not in a sticky. QQ
I would not flash 8.2.3.9 from the Asus site. I did 4days ago and I still haven't gotten the 8.2.3.13 OTA to get me to a stable build

No, I've already flashed back to 8.2.3.9 from Prime v1.3 (Based on 8.2.3.13). I'm looking for the stock kernel, not the update
did you ever get an answer?
i flashed the recovery-3.1.0.1-solarnz-R3-240511-1908, wiped data/recovery from clockwork, and even clicked the little tablet reset button is settings (ok i knew that wasnt gonna work).
everything looks stock, but the kernal is still different? any suggestions?
i got a hair under the LCD i jsut cant take anymore, and the charger 0BLF feels like 500 degrees when i charge. i dont want to here asus try to blame that on my kernal.... should i get rid of CWM and the kernal before i send it back? thanks in advance

Stock 3.1 kernel.
It's kernel not kernal. Your tablet needs to be 100.00% stock in order to be sent back to ASUS.
Didn't 8.4.4.11 include a new kernel? Anyone have that available?
haha. kernel. got it. its not made outta corn?
Kernel Version: 2.6.36.3-00001-gf377a2b [email protected] #1
is that right now?
but my build number says:
HMJ37.prime_epad-1.5-20110626
i was gonna fix that using this method
http:
//dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/TF101/
Update_Launcher_SOP_WW.pdf
unless you have another suggestion?
should i delete any SU files on the root or do you think they will look that close for a hair under the LCD issue?
Wrong thread. Sorry
I'm a bit confused. Most of us who are rooted are using NVflash to revert to stock recovery, then using LG's method to upgrade to GB for the baseband, only to nandroid back to our rooted rom of choice.
Since the OTA is being sent out, can't we just use the captured OTA zip file to update our baseband without having to mess with the LG software? I run win 7 64bit and the LG software has never worked right for me.
Is the newest OTA not rootable through superoneclick or is something else keeping us from updating the baseband that way?
I'm curious about this too. If an OTA update can update the baseband, I would think CWM would be able to...
Does Tegra2 have a "deeper recovery" mode, like fastboot/hboot on the G1/Magic?
Basebands are not included with roms in the dev section.
You must return to stock, do the LG upgrade/OTA upgrade, reinstall NVflash and install a rooted rom.
I wish they would release the old and new basebands in a zip, but no one has. Some guy known as "the dude" said he would but he never came back.
Possibly a dumb question but... does the new baseband bring any improvement that's worth the hassle (back to stock, etc)?

My experience has been much faster GPS lock and slightly faster download speeds. That is all I have noticed. Signal strength seems about the same.

Much improved GPS. Seems like data is a tad faster.

Same for me... Plus, i was running the OTA GB release with the old baseband for awhile before i updated the baseband. I'm getting better battery life on the new baseband now.
Speedtest set a new record last night: 8.51mbps down.
Hello android gurus/deities (too much?),
Just got my first smartphone, a Droid Charge. Great phone, especially for the price. The screen is freaking fantastic and of course Android is amazing as ever.
However, since first activating it, I seem to get random crashes. I can't replicate the problem, since it doesn't seem connected to anything visual. First time it happened when I decided to check out the camera, took a picture, and tried to view it. Other times have been the first time trying out netflix, first time sending a text. Seems to happen the first time I use some apps.
The crash basically consists of a short 5-10 second freeze followed by a reboot. Any ideas? Is this a hardware issue I need to have addressed or more likely a software issue that I just need to wait for updates to come along and fix it? Or is this a common occurence with Android and I just need to suck it up? lol
Edit: Has also happened 3 or 4 times while browsing the web, including this site...
charges hardware are pretty great for the price the software is a big issue for the charge whitch is why most of us myself included suggest rooting your device whitch literally a dummy could do using odin... i am running a stock based of a leak called infinity rom pretty amazing for a stockish rom for now so reboots are known at least for me but i really think the majority of the problem for this phone is the software gps loss signal going in and out as in data (this is a hit and miss) ..... hope this helped you iron things out...
Out of curiosity, what will rooting my device accomplish with respect to the reboots? Anything?
I rooted the device, then tried infinityROM but ran into so many problems I flashed back to the factory rom X(... Rooted again, but still get reboots, any ideas?
Where can I get a more solid kernel? From reading around it sounds like that "might" solve the reboots :\

Also depends what rom you are running.
If it keeps happening after you root and flash a new kernel (and maybe install a rom) upload a logcat to a filesharing place and hop on IRC to ask for help.

Thanks... once that site's back up I'll download a the kernel from there... The kernel on that page should work my Charge if it's currently the factory rom right?
Edit: Just to check, Imoseyon's kernel (listed here is the only available kernel aside from the factory kernel? I should try flashing this to see if it fixes my problem? Where can I get the factory kernel (just the kernel :\) if things go awry?
Edit2: Also found imnut's PBJT kernel here. I'm unaware of some of the terminologies (I've only messed with a couple Ubuntu/Fedora distros of linux), can this and any other kernel for the Charge work with Gingerbread (2.3.6)?

PBJ is a Froyo kernel. It will only work with Froyo.
Hi all,
I've been reading all the tutorials on how to downgrade my O3D to 2.2 but I'm having a hard time choosing what info I should follow. And everytime a find something, usualy I get the impression that its kind of a bumpy ride...
My O3D is locked to Vodafone Portugal, not rooted, everything stock and my data cable is the one that came with the phone.
I want to keep everything stock in 2.2.
Can you please point me to the safest way to do this?
Oh, and I only have Win 7 available for the process.
Thank you so much for the help!
The easiest and most comprehensive tutorial to do that is the one posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540163 (Point 2)
If you will need additional info on the steps mentioned on the above tutorial, you can visit the two threads below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473781
Thank you.
It does appear to be the simplest I've seen.
Really hope not to ruin my phone...
Oh, and what rom do you recomend?
I can't recommend you a Froyo ROM because I used the tutorial only to flash Gingerbread ROMs. I flashed the 21D ROM almost 4 weeks ago and I got only one ghost call (that I'm aware of).
So I'm sticking with the 21D at the moment until LG releases a new ROM or until the ghost calls start occurring more often.

Well, I have 20a on mine and it was running smoothly but then suddenly it started again with the GC. I'm kind of in the verge of trashing this peace of sh!t.
If I downgrade using this method, when (if ever) LG relleases a fix or a new rom, I will be able to update via the nromal LG process?
Yes, you can upgrade later with the normal LG process or the one you've used to downgrade to Froyo.
However, since you've only recently started experiencing ghost calls, I would suggest to make a factory reset/wipe first on your current ROM and wait few days to see if you still have issues. In my case, the factory rest helped a lot and haven't experienced ghost calls for the last 3 weeks.

No no, I'm experiencing GC since the update in dec 2011. I've done the factory reset with the wipes twice and it got better, but then the monster came back.
Just finished downgrading and it went like a charm.
Just had to wipe data afterwards because i've got stuck in boot loop.
And since I've installed a carrier free rom, its so much faster now... No Vodafone things loading. The boot is twice as quick as it was in 2.3.
Thank you so much for the help!
+1!
Everyting you need is on this page (http://www.acidhazardrom.com). And he also developing a great rom. Read in tools. Please thank me god luck

Glad to know that everything went well without a hitch. Which version of the Froyo ROMs you installed?

The v10k downloaded directly from the guide. And it made the phone faster in normal usage. The benchmarks show the same results however.
It must be the fact that it doesn't comes without all the Vodafone [email protected] on it.
Yes, Froyo could be in some cases faster than GB, for example some games. It's also more compatible with certain apps like video calling apps (Fring, Tango etc). The biggest issue however with the Froyo is the relatively higher battery consumption.
By the way, I just remembered that I saw some time ago another method to downgrade/upgrade stock ROMs which has the major advantage of being completely automatic. The post and the zip file is here and includes complete instructions.

I haven't tried it myself but many other did and they said that it works very well. I know that you've downgraded successfully but I just post this for a future reference.

froyo is faster after you haven't trun off your phone for days!
and
froyo can install and run "dead space" smoothly, but gingerbread can't.
I've been running cloudyg3 2.1 for about 6 months and I've developed an echo problem during calls( on the other end) and I've noticed a lag both problems in the last week. I'm running 4.4.2, M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190084 Baseband, KERNAL VERSION 3.4.102 BUILD KOT491 on a D801 . No other mods. I tried running backup from existing recovery but failed twice. I've redownloaded Autorec , the baseband version and CloudyG3 2.2 as per cloudyfa but haven't run it because id rather be a vagina with an echoing phone than a dude with no phone at all. Would someone mind giving me some advice? Could my problem be solved with a fresh install or upgrading to 2.2? Should I hold my breath for Lp? And could someone walk me through the steps?
I really do appreciate the help and I'll gladly pay it back .
Thanks

Are you sure that you don't have any tweak? It might be a ROM problem. I suggest you to flash the newest version of CloudyG3. If you have a problem with the recovery, is always good to have it up-to-date and then flash the newest ROM.
In my case I always had problems with the newest versions of Cloudy. I used to have it on my phone until 1.3 version and then the data did not work for me, so decided to go with Optimus G3 1.4.1, which was the last ROM I used in my LG G2 and everything worked smoothly. If you have the availability, give it a try.

Thanks. I appreciate the help. I found a video on YouTube with some guy flashing the exact same and it turned out fine.
I couldnt get it to back up using TWRP from the first flash of CloudyG3 2.1 so I used LG backup and saved it to pc. Then I flashed the Basrband for KitKat and CloudyG2 2.2 simultaneously. I beleive 2.2 to be the newest. Everything went through for the most part. All important data was there but I did have to reset up my contact profile and my display setting. also also the knock code does not consistently work. it didn't fix my sound issue but it did rerevert my camera back to what I had when I originally flashed G3 2.1. after that's all said and done, I remembered flashing a fix to repair the knock code on 2.1 and that's how I lost the camera in the first place.
anyway, everything's good . I stretched my G2 for an extra year without feeling like I had missed out on anything. I wonder how many others did the same thing. Cloudyfa may want to keep an eye out for LG ninja's. Thanks again.
