I've been running cloudyg3 2.1 for about 6 months and I've developed an echo problem during calls( on the other end) and I've noticed a lag both problems in the last week. I'm running 4.4.2, M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190084 Baseband, KERNAL VERSION 3.4.102 BUILD KOT491 on a D801 . No other mods. I tried running backup from existing recovery but failed twice. I've redownloaded Autorec , the baseband version and CloudyG3 2.2 as per cloudyfa but haven't run it because id rather be a vagina with an echoing phone than a dude with no phone at all. Would someone mind giving me some advice? Could my problem be solved with a fresh install or upgrading to 2.2? Should I hold my breath for Lp? And could someone walk me through the steps?
I really do appreciate the help and I'll gladly pay it back .
Thanks

Are you sure that you don't have any tweak? It might be a ROM problem. I suggest you to flash the newest version of CloudyG3. If you have a problem with the recovery, is always good to have it up-to-date and then flash the newest ROM.
In my case I always had problems with the newest versions of Cloudy. I used to have it on my phone until 1.3 version and then the data did not work for me, so decided to go with Optimus G3 1.4.1, which was the last ROM I used in my LG G2 and everything worked smoothly. If you have the availability, give it a try.

Thanks. I appreciate the help. I found a video on YouTube with some guy flashing the exact same and it turned out fine.
I couldnt get it to back up using TWRP from the first flash of CloudyG3 2.1 so I used LG backup and saved it to pc. Then I flashed the Basrband for KitKat and CloudyG2 2.2 simultaneously. I beleive 2.2 to be the newest. Everything went through for the most part. All important data was there but I did have to reset up my contact profile and my display setting. also also the knock code does not consistently work. it didn't fix my sound issue but it did rerevert my camera back to what I had when I originally flashed G3 2.1. after that's all said and done, I remembered flashing a fix to repair the knock code on 2.1 and that's how I lost the camera in the first place.
anyway, everything's good . I stretched my G2 for an extra year without feeling like I had missed out on anything. I wonder how many others did the same thing. Cloudyfa may want to keep an eye out for LG ninja's. Thanks again.

Well I ordered a G2X the other day and finally I received it. It came with Gingerbread 2.3.3 from the factory. (worked flawlessly) Keep reading.
After a couple days I wanted to try out CM7 on it. So, I rooted the phone by using NVflash and doing all that good stuff, then I flashed the phone with (Gingerbread OTA 2.3.3 Rooted flashable zip v1.0.0) I couldn't get root with SuperOneClick so that was my only option. Well I got root and that's when the fun started.
I installed CM7 on it, seemed to run fine, looked fine. But simple me, I wanted to go back to Plane jane 2.3.3 So, I did all the usual stuff (backing up, wiping data, formatting caches), then I ran OneClickRecoveryFlasher...and restored the phone with LG-P999-V10f.zip (supposedly a stock flash for 2.2.2)
well it all seemed to work fine apon finishing. It booted fine, ran ok. However now I have some really bad problems. The major one is that my wifi doesn't work worth a damn now, the connection is highly intermittent. I can't use the market to download apps because it dies out often, along with anything else network related. (browsing works 5% of the time) You catch my drift. My other android phones have no trouble with anything. Now here where it gets weird, I supposedly restored my phone back to stock. However, the phone reports a proper android version 2.2.2 which is what I flashed it to. However it shows kernel 2.6.32.9 Baseband is July 15th 2011. When I use LG's phone update tool it says I am running V21E which is Gingerbread 2.3.3 ...but that's not true because it is actually 2.2.2
I have no clue what to do, I am stuck. I just want to either have a stock G2X running either 2.2.2 or 2.3.3

You are probably going to have use Xboarders ROM then flash the unroot.zip he has in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158513.
See if that works to get you back to 2.3.3 completely stock.
It says that because it checks the baseband to see how recent it was, that's why it thinks you're on v21e.
As of now, there's no way to flash back to the old baseband, since people don't include the baseband in their ROMs, as that can cause a whole host of problems. The solution is to do exactly what tidewaterns said, that just gives you a little extra background info.
I am going to give this a try and see what happens, I will post results.
Well I tried the slimmed down version of Xboarders's rom and it seems to be working well so far. I originally installed his Stock OTA rom and that's when I started having problems. Oh well. thanks guys for all the help.
Crash course about root and roms: Superoneclick roots the rom you have in place. Flashing xboarders rom didn't "give you root" for the other roms you flashed, it is simply one rom out of many that is pre-rooted by the dev who packaged it up. When you flash it you have a rom that is rooted. If you had flashed CM7 (another rom that provides root access to its system files) then you'd have had a different rom that was pre-rooted by its dev.
Are you catching what I'm saying? Flashing xboarders rom didn't "give you root" any more than CM7 "gave you root." Root is built in to those roms.
If you want to restore to an unrooted stock rom browse the threads in the development section. There are a couple of stock nandroid backups posted that you can restore via clockworkmod recovery and then you'll have a stock unrooted rom. You can even do that and still have clockworkmod recovery in case you want to flash a different rom to your phone again.
And PLEASE remember when flashing from one rom to a different rom, WIPE WIPE WIPE data, cache, dalvik cache, then flash rom, then fix permissions, then reboot. This will save you SO MANY headaches.
G2X CM7
I learned something new Thanks for the info. And yes, this last time when I installed, I wiped and formatted just about everything I could possibly do, including fix permissions..seemed to do the trick.

Sweet! If you're simply updating to a newer version of the same rom you can probably get away with just wiping cache and dalvik cache and then flashing. Its just when you switch to a totally different rom that you need to do a full wipe. Gives you a clean slate to start with.

I'm curious about one thing though. What would I accomplish by using Nandroid and flashing a bin? I see there is a BIN_LGP999AT-01-V10f-310-260-MAR-27-2011+0.zip file that is available for this phone, although I have no clue on how to install Nandroid. Anyways, wouldn't flashing a BIN be the ultimate way to restore the G2X?
Hi All,
I own a Motorola Defy. I am kind of new to android developement. i had 2.2 on my phone and wanted to upgrade, followed all the steps available online for cyanogen 7.1, liquid arc, etc. with all the ROM's i had the same problem. Everything goes fine, until i reboot my phone. The moment i do that after installing new ROM. I loose network connectivity and a pop up msg comes up continously saying android.phone.com stopped responding. From there i have to do the complete wipe once again. i read in some forum about flashing radio, however i dont see this option in my recovery mode at all.
Anybody who knows how to resolve this????????
I looked this up in the forums. This applies to going from 2.1 to 2.2, but sounds like it may help you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947578
Thank you for the reply.
However, I was already running Froyo on my defy. I can also go back to that via RSD or by restoring it to the ROM i backedup before i started this testing. My concern is why i am not able to Install this custom ROM and make it working when all others can do it without any issues. I am still running Cyanogen nightly ROM (2.3.7). I also know the moment i restart my phone it will loose network connectivity and will keep getting those pop msgs. Is there a way to curb that.
Appreciate the help...
You can look for MIUI for the defy. I have also MIUI on my Defy and it works perfect

Thanks for your reply....
I was missing the defy baseband update. Thank fully that fixed the network connectivity issue. Now i am running ICS 4.0.1 perfectly. Except the camera everything is working smooth. Had little issue with restore from Titanum backup. But an unregistered version of TB fixed it.
Hi all,
I've been reading all the tutorials on how to downgrade my O3D to 2.2 but I'm having a hard time choosing what info I should follow. And everytime a find something, usualy I get the impression that its kind of a bumpy ride...
My O3D is locked to Vodafone Portugal, not rooted, everything stock and my data cable is the one that came with the phone.
I want to keep everything stock in 2.2.
Can you please point me to the safest way to do this?
Oh, and I only have Win 7 available for the process.
Thank you so much for the help!
The easiest and most comprehensive tutorial to do that is the one posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540163 (Point 2)
If you will need additional info on the steps mentioned on the above tutorial, you can visit the two threads below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473781
Thank you.
It does appear to be the simplest I've seen.
Really hope not to ruin my phone...
Oh, and what rom do you recomend?
I can't recommend you a Froyo ROM because I used the tutorial only to flash Gingerbread ROMs. I flashed the 21D ROM almost 4 weeks ago and I got only one ghost call (that I'm aware of).
So I'm sticking with the 21D at the moment until LG releases a new ROM or until the ghost calls start occurring more often.

Well, I have 20a on mine and it was running smoothly but then suddenly it started again with the GC. I'm kind of in the verge of trashing this peace of sh!t.
If I downgrade using this method, when (if ever) LG relleases a fix or a new rom, I will be able to update via the nromal LG process?
Yes, you can upgrade later with the normal LG process or the one you've used to downgrade to Froyo.
However, since you've only recently started experiencing ghost calls, I would suggest to make a factory reset/wipe first on your current ROM and wait few days to see if you still have issues. In my case, the factory rest helped a lot and haven't experienced ghost calls for the last 3 weeks.

No no, I'm experiencing GC since the update in dec 2011. I've done the factory reset with the wipes twice and it got better, but then the monster came back.
Just finished downgrading and it went like a charm.
Just had to wipe data afterwards because i've got stuck in boot loop.
And since I've installed a carrier free rom, its so much faster now... No Vodafone things loading. The boot is twice as quick as it was in 2.3.
Thank you so much for the help!
+1!
Everyting you need is on this page (http://www.acidhazardrom.com). And he also developing a great rom. Read in tools. Please thank me god luck

The v10k downloaded directly from the guide. And it made the phone faster in normal usage. The benchmarks show the same results however.
It must be the fact that it doesn't comes without all the Vodafone [email protected] on it.
Yes, Froyo could be in some cases faster than GB, for example some games. It's also more compatible with certain apps like video calling apps (Fring, Tango etc). The biggest issue however with the Froyo is the relatively higher battery consumption.
By the way, I just remembered that I saw some time ago another method to downgrade/upgrade stock ROMs which has the major advantage of being completely automatic. The post and the zip file is here and includes complete instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22189294&postcount=30
I haven't tried it myself but many other did and they said that it works very well. I know that you've downgraded successfully but I just post this for a future reference.

i think the baseband verion stays the same regardless its rom base. So L6260_MODEM_01.1042.00 will always show. To make sure its changed flash KDZ 21A, 21B, 21D Base Bands Roms Comaptible
All except Go to first new post
[ROM's][KERNEL's][GPL][REF's] The Promethius Project V1.4 [V1.5 Kernel 3rd Beta Test] IF you flashed either 21A,21B,21D and use Kernel 1.3+ You will have the no signal issue you mentioned .
To conclude if you planning on using Go to first new post
The Promethius Project V1.4 + 1.3+ or any other 21e based rom KErnel flash 21e.kdz you shall have no signal issues. IF rom not 21e base use any ginger basedband except 21e base
Ok, I know there are a lot of threads on these topic and believe me i have spent a lot of time reading multiple threads and the end result is i am not sure how to proceed , for my particular froyo version so I am posting it here hoping some Kind soul will help/suggest me on installing Cyanogen mod 7.
So here I go.
I have an LG P500 model phone with Anroid Froyo 2.2.1 (Software version V10c-DEC-08-2012, Build number FRG-83, KErnel 2.6.32.9 ). After trying several ways finally I have rooted my phone successfully. after making a clockwork recovery of my custom ROM, I proceeded to install CM7 Stable (for P500) using my 2GB memory card with 200 MB free space, it did not succeed and got stuck with the CM7 android logo.
I cleared up my memory upto 450MB and proceeded again by deleting cache/data and installing CM7 stable. This time it did install but i lost the IMEI number and the phone could not detect any network. I got the same result when i tried CM7 RC-3 . being unable to get a working phone I have reverted back to my custom rom using recovery.
After reading so many threads about these issues, i feel that this is some kind of basband problem as mine version is V10C, Can someone please help me how to install CM7 without loosing my IMEI and netwroks. (a step by step approach would me most appreciated). Thanks in advance.
Yes you need to upgrade your baseband to V20, there are several tutorials (step by step) on how to upgrade baseband on this forum.
Sent from my LG-P500
Thanks for the reply, but do i need to install the new baseband after flashing with CM7 or prior to installingCM7, Please clarify this. as I dont want to get stuck again.
cm7 roms are new bb. u need to upgrade to v20 b4 flashng cm7. u can do it using lg pc suite or kdz updater.
Solved
I followed
tried to install V20 using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1217504 which i found from here
I followed the steps in the thread but nothing noticable changed after doing it.
Thinking it had worked somehow I Flashed it now with CM7 but sadly nothing changed and my phone still did not had any network or IMEI even now.
I followed this http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/44849-My-experience-rooting-and-ROMing-the-p500-on-Android-2.2.2..... and flashed using oldBBfix_signed.zip and whoa I got my network working again in no time.
Thank you guys for your reply and special Thanks to the people who made the threads that i have added above. :good::laugh:
