PlayStore wifi problem after custom ROM - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Nexus 5 was running beautifully, but I was curious about the new Paranoid Android.
I installed it, and noticed PlayStore worked OK with 3G, but extremely slow with WiFi.
I went back to stock, and the problem persists!
PS. It's not my wifi. I tried several networks, and the issue remains.
UPDATE: Solved by following shubhodeepbiswas post #21 in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/unknown-issue-google-play-services-t2929392
UPDATE 2: The issue is back! I'm desperate.
I've tried:
KitKat Factory Image
Lollipop Factory Image
M Preview Factory Image
Erasing & Formatting partitions
Clearing the data of both Play Store and Google Play Services
Manually updating GPS to the latest version
Removing and adding my Google account
My Nexus 7 works just fine in the same network.
UPDATE 3: Solved by itself. Mod, you may remove this long and useless post.

Forceclose on youtube app (2.3.4)

Hi,
I'm running latest OTA on my non-rooted Nexus S i9023.
In my country (due to copyright reason I think), I had to download youtube app (2.3.4) from the internet to get it on my phone and had until today no problem with it.
Today, I got forcecloses when pressing the username under a video to get access to the channel page with all the video from the related user (EDIT : a few channels work though).
So I disconected the youtube account I was using and had the same issue.
I have also deleted app datas, cache and SD and still the issue remain.
I went back to factory settings (supprisingly I had now acces to factory google app without having to install it manually) with having the same issue (even though I had no google account associated with the phone).
I have searched xda for the same issue but found nothing closely related or topics with no responses.
So I would like to ask people with the same or similar config (youtube 2.3.4, 2.3.6 OTA for the i9023, Nexus S unrooted) as mine if they have the same issue. If rooted and other Nexus S versions have the issue please let me know...
EDIT : I've done a factory/data/cache reset from stock recovery and let you know if it works, maybe I'll re-flash stock 2.3.6 OTA. ---> I've done both, problem NOT solved.
Thanks a lot for your help.
EDIT : I've just tried the same operation on my old rooted XPERIA X8 running GingerDX with other simcard and google account and had the same issue... I guess it's somehow youtube related...
EDIT 2 : PROBLEM SOLVED THIS MORNING
How did you fix it ? because im still having the problem
Yesterday YouTube started force closing on me out of nowhere. I cleared the data, cache and I've tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but it still does it when trying to load a video. Odd thing though is that some videos work and some don't... Not sure what's going on here.

[Q] Can't download from Play Store via WiFi

Hello guys. This is my first post on the forum. My problem is that my phone running 4.2.1 can't install apps or any updates from Play Store via WiFi. I haven't tested downloading with 3G yet. When I click the "Install" or "Update" button in Play Store, the d/l bar pops up with the "Waiting on network" above. the d/l never starts. I think it is because of my phone and not the WiFi router because my old LG L3 running stock 2.3.6 has no problems. My phone is currently on the stock ROM and rooted but i've flashed custom ROMs before. I've tried many solutions on the Internet like deleting Play Store's updates, data and cache, but none works. I don't want to factory reset my phone. Can anyone fix this? Thanks in advance. And sorry for my bad English if there are any mistakes.

[Q] Nexus 7 2013 (Wi-Fi only) Google play store not working

I'm sorry if this is long (or even repeated thread) but I should explain everything so that you guys can know the situation better.
I've tried clearing cache, clearing data and force stopping the play store app. Restarted my tab but the issue continues. I've tried almost all known troubleshooting methods to fix this issue, but no luck so far. I also tried clearing cache and data wipe on Google framework services but that did not help either. Please note m using Play store v4.6.17 if I remember it correct. This didn't work so updated it to the latest version 5.1.11 from Aptoide. This helped a bit. I was able to download one or two apps from it then the same problem continued. I've checked the background data is not restricted, I also did a full factory reset but no luck there either. Note: This same version of play store is installed in my android phone with Jelly bean 4.2 and the play store there works just fine.
Previously, the play store was working just fine but I upgraded my tab to Lollipop through OTA update, which I didn't like at all. So had to downgrade back to Kitkat 4.4.4 using the official stock image from Google developers site with the help of SDK tools. Since then m facing this problem. Any help to solve this issue is much appreciated.
UPDATE: I kept searching the net for a solution and finally got one. I just had to clear the Download manager's cache and data. And for some reason its working again and I'm able to download apps but some for apps m unable to update. For eg. Google play books. Otherwise working fine so far.

[Q] Apps Stuck "Downloading"

Two days ago I decided to switch from cm12 nightlies to cm12s.
After performing a clean flash I was very pleased to see that I even had the option to restore the apps I had installed before. However, when trying to install those apps I encountered a problem. Because the apps would not download. They would say "Downloading"but it woult get stuck forever.
I had never experienced such problem before but so I thought it was the cm12s flash. So, I flashed back to the latest cm12 nightly I still had on my OPO with the hope that the problem would have vanished. Unfortunately it didn't.
MY PROBLEM:
When I try to install apps from the play store they get stuck in an endless loop of "downloading".
What I tried so far:
flashing back to a normal cm12 nightly
flashing cm11s and after that upgrading to cm12s (in cm11s the problem also persists, same for SOKP-rom to see if it would also persist in a different rom)
rebooting with and without superSU after flashing OS.
entirely wiping my phone (cache, dalvik cache, system, data) and flashing cm12/s
after the step above^, deleting the data and/or cache from "Google Play Services", "Google play Store", "Google Play Framework" (and if possible deleting updates so it goes back to factory app)
changing location settings
deleting google account and re adding it.
clearing Cache and Dalvik Cache multiple times
using the 1-Click installer from their forum
Tried to find the android_secure folder but could not find it. (even with hidden files disabled in windows)
Perhaps even more but I can't quite remember much more...
I experienced after flashing a new os multiple times that the problem is not really the play store and/or the apps in it. But I believe the problem is more with the "Google Play Services" because most of the apps I can update perfectly fine but the "Google Play Services" continuously refuse to update and get stuck at "downloading". Unfortunately that app is needed to be able to use e.g "Gmail".
Hopefully there are more people on this forum who have experienced this problem before and know how to fix it.
Got the same crap... It's been 2 days now with the Store stuck on downloading.
I have all the latest updates, Store, Services etc.
Also tried to disable the security section like Enterprise.
Nothing works.... This is driving me mad!!!
Anyone got a fix?

Somehow it fixed itself......
What cought my eye was that if it is not working, try downloading the app via 3g or at your friends house... For some reason it would sometimes not download via wifi but it would via 3g.
I hope this works for you aswel

I didn't get it working again, so I removed all data and reinstalled the rooted firmware for my device and just did a backup with the mybackup pro.
Somehow there was something with the system or the data, but it works now.

Is This a Google Problem, or Something I Did?

I've been running Cyanogenmod 12.1 for a while now, updating to the new nightly versions as they come out. Recently I discovered that Cyanogenmod 13 is now rolling out, but I held off on updating for a bit.
The other night, I decided to give it a go, and it ended up causing my phone to get stuck trying to boot. So, I flash back to the last 12.1 nightly I had been using, installed the latest version of GApps for CM12.1 and went back to using my phone as normal. However, I quickly noticed a problem, but I'm not sure of the root cause...
Nearly all of my apps fail to work properly... They all keep force closing, and I can't update them or anything because every time I try to access the Google Play Store, an error pops saying that Google Play Services has stopped. Now, if you look at the Google Play Services page on the Google Play Store, you'll see a load of negative reviews from people all reporting the same problem. However, it just very suddenly started happening to me, so I'm not sure if I messed something up when I was going back to CM12.1 after CM13 failed to work for me.
Any ideas? I just did a clean install of the latest stable release of CM12.1 and the latest CM12.1 GApps, but it's still not working. I even updated to the newest version of TWRP, thinking that might help. At this point, my phone is useless... My texting app closes. My browser closes. My calendar, contacts, etc. don't work since they're linked to my Google account. Instagram, Facebook and Twitter don't work. NOTHING WORKS!
I'm considering flashing back to stock, but I really don't want to do that. I've finally gotten Nova Launcher configured how I want it (in terms of my home screens), and I don't want to have to redo all that tweaking. Especially if flashing back to stock doesn't fix the damn problem! I just finished making a backup in TWRP and copying it to my computer for safekeeping in the case that I do try to flash back to stock. That way, if it doesn't help, I can go back to where I'm at now at least.
So; any ideas? I don't know if it's Google, or something I did.
The first and easiest thing u could try is reinstalling those apps! Check http://www.apkmirror.com/ for that!

Which apps; the ones that keep crashing? I don't see how that's going to help...
Like I said, I can't do anything that's associated with Google at the moment. Initially I thought removing my Google account would help, as that's what an Internet search suggested would help. Now, since Google Play Services keeps crashing, I can't even add my Google account back onto my phone.

Yes u could at least give it a try! Uninstall the apps that keep crashing and reinstall them via their apks!
I just tried to flash back to stock, and it wouldn't work; the GPT.bin kept failing to flash. So, I had to go back to CM12.1 and I'm right back where I started; with Google Play Services not functioning.
This may sound stupid... but have you tried clearing the caches? /data/dalvik and /cache?
I'd suggest making sure you have mfastboot, extracting the stock 5.1 untouched files here and then running the script here. Make sure those lines are adjusted to reflect where you've extracted the stock files to. Ie. mfastboot flash partition C:/Android-SDK/Platform-tools/gpt.bin
What's the failure that's stopping it from flashing? If you can get past that I'd boot the stock firmware once, flash TWRP, clear /system and /data then flash the latest nightly and GApps then clear your caches before booting.
Here's an update.
After flashing back to CM12.1 I discovered that I was still having the same issue with Google Play Services, but my network also wasn't working. This was my own fault though; I forgot that since I tried restoring my phone to stock, I needed to apply the Network Fix that is floating around for the XT1033. Although, my phone is technically an XT1032; it just doesn't have a functional network unless it's using an XT1033 radio...
So, when I got home from work I applied that Network Fix, which got me my network back. However, my Google Play Services still refuses to work.
I've just tried to give another go at flashing back to stock Lollipop firmware, but it's still not working. Just like before, it keeps failing to flash the GPT.bin file, throwing me an error; see below.
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
I've never had this happen before. This time around, I even went into TWRP before starting the flash and used Advanced Wipe to clear the Dalviik Cache, Data, Cache and System, yet it still won't flash properly. Cyanogenmod flashes just fine, but I want to see if using stock firmware will fix my issues with Google Play and its services.
I have no idea what to do.
Well, my phone is officially KIA. I followed this guide to get it back to stock (none of the other guides would work), and once I went to reboot as part of Step 7, the phone shut off and won't come back on. I've tried plugging it in, holding the volume down and power button for as long as three minutes, holding the volume up and power buttons for just as long... it won't do anything. It's hard-bricked.
