[Q] Nexus 7 2013 (Wi-Fi only) Google play store not working - General Questions and Answers

I'm sorry if this is long (or even repeated thread) but I should explain everything so that you guys can know the situation better.
I've tried clearing cache, clearing data and force stopping the play store app. Restarted my tab but the issue continues. I've tried almost all known troubleshooting methods to fix this issue, but no luck so far. I also tried clearing cache and data wipe on Google framework services but that did not help either. Please note m using Play store v4.6.17 if I remember it correct. This didn't work so updated it to the latest version 5.1.11 from Aptoide. This helped a bit. I was able to download one or two apps from it then the same problem continued. I've checked the background data is not restricted, I also did a full factory reset but no luck there either. Note: This same version of play store is installed in my android phone with Jelly bean 4.2 and the play store there works just fine.
Previously, the play store was working just fine but I upgraded my tab to Lollipop through OTA update, which I didn't like at all. So had to downgrade back to Kitkat 4.4.4 using the official stock image from Google developers site with the help of SDK tools. Since then m facing this problem. Any help to solve this issue is much appreciated.
UPDATE: I kept searching the net for a solution and finally got one. I just had to clear the Download manager's cache and data. And for some reason its working again and I'm able to download apps but some for apps m unable to update. For eg. Google play books. Otherwise working fine so far.

Seemed to have messed up Goog Play Services with Titanium Backup. Any suggestions?

I was doing an integration of several apps. All went fine but TB seemed to get stuck on integrating Google Play Services. Ever since I get a Google Play Service error. It keeps asking me to log in but never connecting or syncing and I can't get any further with google play related apps.
I tried cleaning cache of google play but that alone did not work.

What I did was go into twrp do a factor reset/wipe data and booted up like I did a brand new phone out of the box. I guess in twrp you can wipe everything (everything but system probably) and it will return your phone back to stock.
Someone correct me if I am wrong but that's what worked for me.

[Completed] Play store crash/connection error

Hello everyone!
I recently got my first Android phone so im fairly new to all this.
(my phone: lg g2 d802 16gb model, rooted, stock 4.4.2)
I rooted it and froze some harmless apps(was very cautious not to freeze important ones) and everything worked fine. i downloaded some apps after i edited things(=playstore worked) the last thing i remember is change the clock widget on my lock screen(a stock widget) but i dont think this has anything to do with it eighter..
At one point i tried to download an app but the play store couldnt connect(even though i had an internet connection, rest worked just fine)
i read through the internet and tried multiple things:
-clear cache and data of the play store app
-removed updates
-deleted and reinstalled it
-removed my google account(after this the app started crashing instantly probably because i froze sth thats needed to register a new google account or whatever, i dont know)
-made a factory reset: i really hoped this would fix it but it didnt. the app still crashes. after the factory reset i still found the supersu app on the phone(is the phone still rooted even though i did a factory reset?)
-removed my root access and did a factory reset again. additionally i logged in with a new google account so they google wouldnt use the data from my original google account(maybe there was sth that was causing it) didnt work.
Anyone has an idea what to do next? could flashing the stock rom help? whats the next step?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
First try clearing Data on play store, Play services and Google services framework. Then reboot.
Failing that, you would need to ask for help in your device section here...
> LG G2 > G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
hey, thanks for the fast reply.
i tried it but it didnt work unfortunately. Thanks for the advice, i posted a thread in the device-specific section!

[Q] Apps Stuck "Downloading"

Two days ago I decided to switch from cm12 nightlies to cm12s.
After performing a clean flash I was very pleased to see that I even had the option to restore the apps I had installed before. However, when trying to install those apps I encountered a problem. Because the apps would not download. They would say "Downloading"but it woult get stuck forever.
I had never experienced such problem before but so I thought it was the cm12s flash. So, I flashed back to the latest cm12 nightly I still had on my OPO with the hope that the problem would have vanished. Unfortunately it didn't.
MY PROBLEM:
When I try to install apps from the play store they get stuck in an endless loop of "downloading".
What I tried so far:
flashing back to a normal cm12 nightly
flashing cm11s and after that upgrading to cm12s (in cm11s the problem also persists, same for SOKP-rom to see if it would also persist in a different rom)
rebooting with and without superSU after flashing OS.
entirely wiping my phone (cache, dalvik cache, system, data) and flashing cm12/s
after the step above^, deleting the data and/or cache from "Google Play Services", "Google play Store", "Google Play Framework" (and if possible deleting updates so it goes back to factory app)
changing location settings
deleting google account and re adding it.
clearing Cache and Dalvik Cache multiple times
using the 1-Click installer from their forum
Tried to find the android_secure folder but could not find it. (even with hidden files disabled in windows)
Perhaps even more but I can't quite remember much more...
I experienced after flashing a new os multiple times that the problem is not really the play store and/or the apps in it. But I believe the problem is more with the "Google Play Services" because most of the apps I can update perfectly fine but the "Google Play Services" continuously refuse to update and get stuck at "downloading". Unfortunately that app is needed to be able to use e.g "Gmail".
Hopefully there are more people on this forum who have experienced this problem before and know how to fix it.
Got the same crap... It's been 2 days now with the Store stuck on downloading.
I have all the latest updates, Store, Services etc.
Also tried to disable the security section like Enterprise.
Nothing works.... This is driving me mad!!!
Anyone got a fix?

Somehow it fixed itself......
What cought my eye was that if it is not working, try downloading the app via 3g or at your friends house... For some reason it would sometimes not download via wifi but it would via 3g.
I hope this works for you aswel

I didn't get it working again, so I removed all data and reinstalled the rooted firmware for my device and just did a backup with the mybackup pro.
Somehow there was something with the system or the data, but it works now.

PlayStore wifi problem after custom ROM

My Nexus 5 was running beautifully, but I was curious about the new Paranoid Android.
I installed it, and noticed PlayStore worked OK with 3G, but extremely slow with WiFi.
I went back to stock, and the problem persists!
PS. It's not my wifi. I tried several networks, and the issue remains.
UPDATE: Solved by following shubhodeepbiswas post #21 in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/unknown-issue-google-play-services-t2929392
UPDATE 2: The issue is back! I'm desperate.
I've tried:
KitKat Factory Image
Lollipop Factory Image
M Preview Factory Image
Erasing & Formatting partitions
Clearing the data of both Play Store and Google Play Services
Manually updating GPS to the latest version
Removing and adding my Google account
My Nexus 7 works just fine in the same network.
UPDATE 3: Solved by itself. Mod, you may remove this long and useless post.

Unfortunately Google Play Store has stopped

My problem is that this is happening on a very old HTC Sensation, running Android 4.0.3 and that all the help I find online refers to more modern versions.
In Apps / Google Play Store, I forced stop, cleared data and cache, rebooted but it didn't cure the problem
I also performed a factory reset without success.
Someone in the Google Play Help Forum advised me to call the Play support team which I did. They sent me an email, I followed the procedure but it didn't fix anything so they told me to contact HTC if the bug still persisted, which I did a while ago but no reply, so far.

I have solved this problem and I am posting the solution here in case someone else would have the same problem.
I downloaded, installed and ran Lucky Patcher apk file V6.4, for Android 4.0.3,4.0.4 from here https://goo.gl/UqPEDS and it did the trick.
