Forceclose on youtube app (2.3.4) - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm running latest OTA on my non-rooted Nexus S i9023.
In my country (due to copyright reason I think), I had to download youtube app (2.3.4) from the internet to get it on my phone and had until today no problem with it.
Today, I got forcecloses when pressing the username under a video to get access to the channel page with all the video from the related user (EDIT : a few channels work though).
So I disconected the youtube account I was using and had the same issue.
I have also deleted app datas, cache and SD and still the issue remain.
I went back to factory settings (supprisingly I had now acces to factory google app without having to install it manually) with having the same issue (even though I had no google account associated with the phone).
I have searched xda for the same issue but found nothing closely related or topics with no responses.
So I would like to ask people with the same or similar config (youtube 2.3.4, 2.3.6 OTA for the i9023, Nexus S unrooted) as mine if they have the same issue. If rooted and other Nexus S versions have the issue please let me know...
EDIT : I've done a factory/data/cache reset from stock recovery and let you know if it works, maybe I'll re-flash stock 2.3.6 OTA. ---> I've done both, problem NOT solved.
Thanks a lot for your help.
EDIT : I've just tried the same operation on my old rooted XPERIA X8 running GingerDX with other simcard and google account and had the same issue... I guess it's somehow youtube related...
EDIT 2 : PROBLEM SOLVED THIS MORNING

How did you fix it ? because im still having the problem

Yesterday YouTube started force closing on me out of nowhere. I cleared the data, cache and I've tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but it still does it when trying to load a video. Odd thing though is that some videos work and some don't... Not sure what's going on here.

[Q] Market Apps wont download

I am using Coredroid V7.
When I am trying to download apps from the official app market, it doesnt download.
it says downloading then just clears itself out. i try it again it doesnt download it.
i even did a full wipe(1.5 and coredroid wipe) then freshly flashed the rom again, then it doesnt download again.
because of that i even had to RE-root my phone..well that didnt fix it as well..
it worked completely fine in 6.7. can anyone help me whats wrong with it? i even resetted my phone..nothing worked...
im trying to download miren browser..
Wow hmm I had this before. Are you setting up any accounts after flashing? What I mean is once you flash and get to set up tutorial, when it asks about setting up accounts,so u log into Facebook or Google right then?

Well, after the extensive wiping/rerooting/reflashing/reseting you've done, to no avail, maybe it's just the market acting up.
I've run into similar download issues both stock/unrooted and custom/rooted, from time to time. It's usually that stuck progress bar that never seems to move and never finishes, almost always when trying download something that's set to update automatically.
I've also run into specific downloads not kicking in, as you're describing. It usually clears itself up if I just wait a little while and try again.
Not a very specific solution to your problem, but all I'm saying is that after all you've done to "reset," that should have taken care of the problem, if the problem was indeed on your end.
FWIW.

Do a Search for Full Wipe, there is something you can run that just cleans yer device completely. I would try that. Else; I am unsure.
Settings->Applications->Market-> Clear Data/Cache ???
Worked for me =(
It's just a sporadic issue with the Android Market. I have encountered this very same problem and thought it was the rom but never did any reflashing or wiping data/cache but then I would go try to download an app and it would successfully download and install. I think it's an issue with the android market.

Just fyi, I flashed v7 tonight, and installed several apps after the fact, so I can at least assure you that it's but the ROM.
Sent from the computer I carry in my pocket.
Solution kinda
I was having the same problem tried all sorts of wipes to no avail ended up just downloading and installing new cooler looking app market thinking it would solve my problem but it didn't just gave me an error message to go along with it.....so the solution u say......annoyingly simple really reboot into recovery after installing new market clear cache and dalvik cache too just to be sure.
confirmed working as of 5 minutes ago.
with new market
on virtuous unity rom (but I don't see a reason it shouldn't work on most roms with weird market bug)

[Q] Market searching!! HELP

I have been using my transformer for 4 months now but ever since i updated to Prime 1.7 my market hasent been working correctly. I cannot search for apps on the market, regardless what i search it always tells me there are no results. I have also tried installing apps from the web market on the tablet but it says installed but it never goes through on the Tab.
I have tried re flashing Prime1.7 and even flashed revolver 2.1 but neither of these have solved the issue. I have also cleared the market cache and data. no change
does anyone know how to fix the issue?
I had problems with market on my desire HD never showing the progress bar properly after doing all usual tricks to no avail I sent a support request from market help and got a standard reply to try clear cache etc... but after a few hours it just started working again. To which I reckon they reset my account to clear the problem, so give that a try as I did much the same as you on the dhd but it never got solved untill I send that help request.
I have tried this but they sent me the solution for android 1.6-2.3. Still have no market but only for apps. books and movies work fine any ideas?
Have you tried using the web market? Go there and make sure your account has the proper device(asus transformer) connected to your account. The marked app only shows apps that are compatible with the associated device.
Yeah I have tried using the online market and my Transformer is on there but twice. Also if i can get a market link to an app and try to download it it notifies me that the app cant be downloaded in my country even though im in the USA. this is a new issue for me because apps that I have downloaded on my G2 have installed fine while my tab is refusing to install
Clean market cache!
Go to applications, look for the market, and press clean market cache. This should help a bit. Also try to install Market Enabler...may/may not work, but it worth the try..
I have cleaned market cache, tried market enabler which doesn't work and even tried the market after a fresh re-install of Prime 1.7
none of it works.
would reverting to stock possible solve the problems?
Well I'd say so...if the issue started when you installed the custom ROM..you should rollback..just make sure to Root the stock rom...
The issue started when I went from went from Prime1.5 to 1.7.
And I didn't do a backup of the stock rom. Where could I find one?

First some questions:
1. Are you using stock rom or any custom rom?
2. Since when do you have these problems?
Did you try to erase your google account on the phone and reinstall this?
I was having google issues and could not send pictures, I tried uninstall reinstall and it would work for a bit then happen again.. I finally changed Roms and now my issue is gone. Leads me to believe it was in my Rom . Perhaps try a different ROM and see if issue is still present.

I use stock ROM not rooted.
I start to face this issue 2 days ago
Does your data work fine for other apps?
Try wiping cache. You can find apps on the Play store that will wipe cache on a non rooted phone.
You might try a factory reset if all else fails, though without root you wont be able to back up your app data.
Sent from a rebel ship by storing the message in an R2 unit. (Help me, XDA. You're my only hope)
The above statement is Not correct, You can back up your app data and NOT be rooted. Please use a application called " my backup" in playstore. It WILL allow a non rooted backup. So if you decide to do the reset on your device you can back up your applications. This application is for non rooted and rooted alike and WILL work without root! Hope this helps. Hope the reset solves your issue! Best wishes

[Q] [HELP] 403 Google play error, help!

Hello awesome people at xda forums!
I had my N5 for about 2 weeks now, for the first week i've used stock, but i had to try som new roms/kernels so i installed cataclysm rom with franco kernel. I had no problems everything worked great, and google play worked. On my old phone i had xposed framework, and a few modules. I've downloaded it on my N5 and got "keepchat, bootmanger, greenify and gravitybox. Everything still worked great, i used some of the features with gravitybox and enabled some feature where i had to reboot my phone. Something i about statusbar, not really sure though. I've hot rebooted, and my phone kept crashing "system ui crashed" and i tried normal reboot, still crashing. I've factory reset with twrp and used a stock 4.4.2 backup i had, and i was about to download busybox then i got some errors. I think i got a 920 error at first, I've searched the whole web and found a solution. (Or i thought i did) Then it gave me a 403 error, I've spent my whole day trying to find a solution, but could not find any. Heres what I've tried:
Reboot phone. *same issue*
Wipe cache and data from google play, then reboot. *same issue*
Sign out of google account, then wipe cache and data from google play and google services framework, then reboot and sign in. *same issue*
Make a new google account and use it to download apps. *same issue*
Wipe dalvik cache and cache from twrp. *same issue*
Install a update for google play *same issue*
Check for proxy, had none.
I think my APN is fine, not sure though.
I've mixed some of the options above, but still with the same stupid error "403"
My question is, is my N5 bricked? If not, is there a solution to this problem?
Best regards,
Kristoffer
If your phone turns on in any capacity, it's not bricked. That term is only supposed to be used when your phone is rendered completely useless and turned into a paperweight or wait for it.... a brick.
If I were in your shoes I would just flash the factory image from Google and start over again. That'll get you back on your feet.

Disregard my previous post. I just read an article that says apparently everyone is having play store issues today and getting the 403 error.

Unfortunately Google Play Store has stopped

My problem is that this is happening on a very old HTC Sensation, running Android 4.0.3 and that all the help I find online refers to more modern versions.
In Apps / Google Play Store, I forced stop, cleared data and cache, rebooted but it didn't cure the problem
I also performed a factory reset without success.
Someone in the Google Play Help Forum advised me to call the Play support team which I did. They sent me an email, I followed the procedure but it didn't fix anything so they told me to contact HTC if the bug still persisted, which I did a while ago but no reply, so far.

I have solved this problem and I am posting the solution here in case someone else would have the same problem.
I downloaded, installed and ran Lucky Patcher apk file V6.4, for Android 4.0.3,4.0.4 from here https://goo.gl/UqPEDS and it did the trick.
