Hi all, I got an AT&T H810 on a two year contract but bought the unlock service code from ebay. (it seem to work)
I am now on a business trip and I got a sim card with data plan from chunghwa telecom, I can make regular phone call (which is why I think ebay unlock code worked) but not able to get 3G or 4G working. I have also tried a Fareastone Sim card with data and that didn't work either. When I put my phone in roaming with default AT&T sim, it will pick up chunghwa telecom but no 3G/4G signal.
I am looking at the LTE band H810 support and it seems there is no carrier in Taiwan can support the H810 bands?
======H810 AT&T=========
GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900 UMTS850 (B5),
UMTS900 (B8), UMTS1900 (B2), UMTS2100 (B1)
LTE700 (B17), LTE850 (B5), LTE1700/2100 (B4), LTE2600 (B7), LTE1900 (B2), LTE2300 (B30)
Just wondering if someone has a hint on what carrier I should go to with this AT&T phone, or a setting that I miss configuring.
Here is a list of band that Taiwan carrier support that I found online.

Apart from buying a different model of the phone with the correct bands...
It does look like, from some preliminary investigation into Taiwan's LTE bands, that you need band 28, 8, or 3 to get LTE in Taiwan. Sadly, it looks like those aren't supported.
However, it's potentially possible to enable those bands once the phone gets rooted. I was able to enable band 40 on the European H815.
cool. patiently waiting for root lol
oops. double post

I've rooted my G2X and when i reach an area where i have 3g/4g, itll say 1x at the top. my network is set to WCDMA preferred. is 1x another means of saying 3g or what? I know when i have hspa+ in the area itll say '4g' (i flashed the mod to have it say that rather than just the plain 'h')
Can anyone explain to me 1x in a nutshell?
1x is cdma2000 technology. 1x means 1 x the Radio Transmission Technology which any cdma2000 network employs and is a 1.23MHz single carrier.
Weird

You're roaming on Sprint or Verizon there. Might wanna stop that. WCDMA is non SIM carriers. So running WCDMA is having you roam on other carriers. T-Mobile doesn't support WCDMA.

No... He means in the Android settings he has it set to GSM/WCDMA preferred which means that he can use 2G and 3G/4G networks, but prefers the 3G/4G, it can actually be quite battery draining... but that's besides the point. The terminology used in the Android settings is wrong, calling GSM 2G and WCDMA 3G/4G. He isn't roaming.
Probably this guys rooted OS was adapted from some cdma phone's OS. I was had a HTC touch (which was cdma phone) but had GPRS settings on the custom NFSFAN rom.
I've purchased a Nexus S sold by Rogers, it was a steal! I got it for $305.93 (that includes tax and shipping)!
I was wondering if I could use it on AT&T 3G? I know the bands are not going to be a problem, so besides that and the APN settings.

This chart is pretty comprehensive... and up until 2004 it was called "Rogers AT&T Wireless" so it'll work.

Will Confirm this too.
My is an original Rogers, that was being used in US (ATT), then sold to me (rogers again)
3G works fine on both carriers. Mine is the I9020A.
Heeter
I have the white 9020a and it also works on AT&T. I needed to flash a new radio (KB3) in order to reach uncapped data speeds.
Thank you everyone, i'll update you guys on which nexus s i'll get in the mail. I hope its rogers!
it also worked for china NETCOM 3G, 2100 HSPA

will work on any network
i check it is it on automatic network.
some time it dail...but other not
and there is no option to change the netowrk from 3G to 2G
by using *#2263#
i found it dose not work on WCDM where i am
even if it was on auto
when change to GSM it worked.
any clue for this issue?>
What network are you trying to use?
Captivate has the following bands:
GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS/HSPA (WCDMA) 850/1900/2100
Note the absence of WCDMA 1700 for TMobile USA.
am on GSM 900/1800
WCDM 2100
when am on 2100. i can recive call
but canot make calls
any help?
why i can recive but canot make call on WCDM only
any one????????
Excessive bumping is highly unnecessary. If we knew and could substantiate an answer, we'd have told it to you already.
The only advice I can give is for you to force WCDMA2100 only via service mode through *#(*#)2263#(*#*). The additions to that code in parentheses is for CM7.
This is a total guess; I really don't know how to help you. Try different modems if this fails? Since it looks as if you have a Captivate ROM, make sure you only use an i897 modem, otherwise you'll break Bluetooth.
T-mobile and att network not compatable for 3g data. You can make calls but you will only get EDGE speed data.
I thought I would be able to find the answer to this with a simple google search or by searching here but it's harder than I had anticipated.
Basically, I want to buy another tablet since I sold my other two a while back (LG G Slate piece of crap and the first Galaxy tab 10.1 both having 3g).
I still have a MBB plan with T-Mobile so I wanted to get a 3g/4g capable tablet and was looking into the Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000.
I just wanted to find a DIRECT answer to the question: does it work with T-Mobile 3g/4g?
I may have found some hints toward my question but I needed a direct answer from all you experts; I'm just that kind of guy =/
Thanks!
As soon as I can confirm i'll be ordering from amazon.
Confirmed. The N8000 can get T-mobile 3G and only 3G if you are in an area that has T-mobile's refarmed 1900 frequency. No 4G.

Ah...
So only in refarmed areas...
This sucks >_>.
I couldn't wait so I placed my order with 1 day shipping haha.

Can you please clarify your reply. Are you saying it will only get 3G in the T-Mob refarmed areas.
Can you also explain what a T-Mob refarmed area is? I may be moving to the US soon and was considering purchasing a N8000 before I go and this may have an impact on my purchase.
Thanks
Has anyone been succesful in activating the Esim with T-Mobile USA?
I don't think it's possible with the P40 Pro right now. T-mobile USA says the ESIM should be set up as:
SM-DP+ Address: T-MOBILE.GDSB.NET
Activation code: [Blank]
Confirmation code: [Blank]
But the P40 Pro (at least my ELS-NX9) thinks it is invalid to leave the Activation Code blank. If you scan the QR it says invalid and it won't allow it to be left blank when entered manually.

Also worth noting that you have to use the eSIM on SIM Slot 2 which is not 5G? That I'm not 100% sure about, but it appears to be the case, which wouldn't matter much to me since T-mobile 5G isn't currently compatible with the P40 Pro ELS-NX9. Officially T-mobile only really support eSIMs on iPhones, however it's worked well on my Pixel 3 for about a year.
The second slot has 5G as eSim.

Thank you for the correction. I didn't realize the Default Data SIM is the one with 5G available.
The benefit is that T-Mobile is enabling 5G in Band N41, Band that your P40 fully supports.
Also, Does VoLTE works on Cricket or T-Mobile? Does the signal stays in 4GLTE or drops to 4G/3G during a call?
VoLTE works on T-mobile. VoLTE does not work on Cricket, the phone drops to 3G.
I haven't been able to get 5G SA to work on n41 with T-mobile. Supposedly you need to get a "R16" SIM or 5G SA will not work. If your SIM starts with TM 5G SA doesn't work. Unfortunately I asked them to send me a R16 SIM and they sent me another TM SIM... lol.
