Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 and T-Mobile 3g/HSPA+ - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I thought I would be able to find the answer to this with a simple google search or by searching here but it's harder than I had anticipated.
Basically, I want to buy another tablet since I sold my other two a while back (LG G Slate piece of crap and the first Galaxy tab 10.1 both having 3g).
I still have a MBB plan with T-Mobile so I wanted to get a 3g/4g capable tablet and was looking into the Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000.
I just wanted to find a DIRECT answer to the question: does it work with T-Mobile 3g/4g?
I may have found some hints toward my question but I needed a direct answer from all you experts; I'm just that kind of guy =/
Thanks!
As soon as I can confirm i'll be ordering from amazon.

Confirmed. The N8000 can get T-mobile 3G and only 3G if you are in an area that has T-mobile's refarmed 1900 frequency. No 4G.

Ah...
So only in refarmed areas...
This sucks >_>.
I couldn't wait so I placed my order with 1 day shipping haha.

Can you please clarify your reply. Are you saying it will only get 3G in the T-Mob refarmed areas.
Can you also explain what a T-Mob refarmed area is? I may be moving to the US soon and was considering purchasing a N8000 before I go and this may have an impact on my purchase.
Thanks

Rogers Nexus S works on AT&T 3G Network?

I've purchased a Nexus S sold by Rogers, it was a steal! I got it for $305.93 (that includes tax and shipping)!
I was wondering if I could use it on AT&T 3G? I know the bands are not going to be a problem, so besides that and the APN settings.

This chart is pretty comprehensive... and up until 2004 it was called "Rogers AT&T Wireless" so it'll work.

I have the white 9020a and it also works on AT&T. I needed to flash a new radio (KB3) in order to reach uncapped data speeds.
Thank you everyone, i'll update you guys on which nexus s i'll get in the mail. I hope its rogers!
it also worked for china NETCOM 3G, 2100 HSPA

[Q] Nexus 5 on Verizon (mainly about network frequencies)

Ok so, Verizon uses CDMA, and the only CDMA frequencies that would work are 2G, which is no bueno, so in that sense, I wouldn't really be able to use it on Verizon, BUT, the Nexus 5's LTE bands on the other hand are, some of them. Verizon's LTE uses the 700 and 1700 frequencies, which are both included in the Nexus 5.
So here's what I want to know, would I be able to use the Nexus 5 on Verizon, even if it'll only work in areas with LTE?
i searched google around for the similar problem and mostly they saying it wont be compatible and some sorts with their frequency and bands
Nexus 5 didn't compatible with Verizon at all.

The nexus 5 will register on the LTE network where certain markets have this band available for me Verizon does not (Hawaii). Only a certain handful of markets have this band. However Verizon won't allow the device to use the LTE network it will see it and recognize it but Verizon systems deny it.
Google and Verizon have a crippled relationship seeing the galaxy nexus slow updates and Verizon wanting to put bloatware on it and the nexus 7 LTE being denied when it first launched. I think Google wants no part in verizon.

That is the W8 model they reviewed. (Canada only model)
Would that have something to do with it? I don't keep up on all the bands/frequencies that all the carriers all over use.
I really was hoping the S6 would move away from all these region specific models since they are managing the radios on their soc with Broadcom now.
You almost have to buy an iPhone if you travel internationally a lot. I don't know of any other phone that has everything covered by the radio.

The Sony Z3 sold in Taiwan has most world bands on it of LTE.
Samsung and HTC suck at this. They should at least release an international model on their own website for those who do not mind forking out full price to get an unlocked model with most LTE Bands for those travel often.
Still just GSM though right?
I thought the iPhone covered much more than that. Maybe I'm wrong..

Band 66 Disabled?

Now, this may only be some kind of internal miscommunication. But there is no Band 66 option in the Band Selection menu for T-Mobile variants. I was looking forward to testing Band 66/AWS-3 on this phone since I'm in a market that has it rolled out, but it seems like LG didn't enable it yet for whatever reason (maybe FCC, maybe T-Mobile request, etc).

It would be a carrier decision, not an LG decision so you have to contact Tmobile to see when the update will be rolled out
I was curious about band 66 as well. In the lte bands menu the band 66 isn't in there. I have Tmo and the tmo variant as well.

Its one of the reasons why I got this phone ... False advertising? haha
I'd assumed it was active and running on the V20. One of the first things I did when I got mine was run a speed test. I am seeing between 40-50+ down and 10-20+ up. That's higher than I was getting in the same spots with my previous phone. I'm in KC though which tends to be a market that they roll spectrum out to early on.
How many markets is 66 rolled out in? If hardly any then it might be awhile before we see a forward update to implement it.

Any updates on this by chance? Wondering if tmobile ever got around to enabling band 66

AT&T Note 10 SM-N970U - 5G???

Note sure if this phone actually getting 5G or just a displaying bug for data connection. Got this phone right after Christmas from AT&T.
I know Plano/North Dallas TX area have 5G coverage up and running.
When I'm at my workplace area in Plano TX, my phone shows 5G data. Surprised me! Is this just a bug? I read that Galaxy Note 10 N970U do not have 5G support. Only the Note 10+ 5G specific model. (not Note 10 and Note 10+)
Is anyone seeing this on their Note 10 N970U?
Even though it shows 5G data, is it only running at 4G LTE?
If the phone is really using 5G, how do I turn it off and only use 4G LTE? I try to find in settings to turn it off, but cannot locate it.
Thanks for your help in advance :good:

Sorry, post this in the wrong section. Can someone help moved this to the Question thread. Thanks
Are you sure it is not displaying that 5Ge icon? That ICON, shown below, is to show that 4G LTE enhanced is active. Fake 5G.

You need a 5G phone and you have to be on special T unlimited plans that are more expensive then the generic unlimited plans to turn on true 5G. Plus of course it has to be in an area where 5G is deployed which are few and far between.
Yeah, that icon. So it's just Enhance 4G LTE.
Fake 5G. I completely agree. It's definitively Fake 5G cause speed test was slow, below 20 Mbps.
Lol
Are SMG979U and a SAMSUNG GALAXY S10 the same phone or two different Samsungs?
