Is the app Greenified?
I had a similar sort of problem on my old phone with twitter notifications. I fixed it using Push Notification Fixer(PNF) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andqlimax.pushfixer.noroot&hl=en

I am having the same issue and will see if this app helps. Stupid thing to have to use to get my messages

wired issues!

I have couple of wired issues with my Samsung Galaxy S 3
SMS Notifications:
Sometimes, not always, only sometimes, I get an SMS but no notification is given. No statusbar notification and no sound/viberate notifications.
Nothing at all.
When open my SMS app, I can then see there is one unread message.
I even have reminder of unread messages which it remindes me of unread messages every 10mins., not even this notify me of these messages.
Does anyone have this issue?
Bluetooth headset:
Sometimes, when I start talking using my Jabra headset, all of sudden, there no more sound on it, then I need to press the button on the phone saying headset to switch back to phone and again press headset to switch again to headset, then it works.
Sometimes I have to switch between phone and headset once to get it to work, others, It happens every minute in a conversation so I need to switch between phone and headset everytime.
Anybody have such issues?
A bit more information about your setup would help us help you. Are you stock or running a ROM? How long has the text message thing been going on?
I bet the messaging problem is a network issue. It will probably go away in a day or less.
BTW wired means something uses a cable, opposite of wireless. Weird is synonymous with strange or bizarre.

hehe meant Weird, typing mistake, but this is not my problem right now
info:
I contacted my network and they could see that the phone failed to retrieve few messages, so they could see that the problem is with my phone.
Android version: 4.1.2
I am using the stock sms app.

I guess i should.
But it is not rooted.
I am suspecting browsertexting app that does something. So I have now removed it and trying again.
But that for the SMS, not bluetooth problem.

Hi, I was having issues sending and receiving messages with Hangouts too.
Hopefully, today Google released an update that corrected my issue. (2.0.3)
I recommend you to first, uninstall Hangouts, go to Play Store and download and install the new version. It worked well for me.
See the attachment.
Hey guys,
I'm having this issue too. I had it like 2 weeks ago, cleared data for the Hangouts app and, at the same time, I installed Push Notification Fixer from the Play Store. The issue got fixed and I thought it was because of the app but, now it is happening again, still with the app installed and the service running so I guess what fixed it was clearing Hangouts data.
How many of you had/are having the same problem? Any way to fix this? Really really annoying.. :/

When that started happening to me I was abroad so I didn't use mobile data to avoid costs. That happened on Wifi always so the issue is not with LTE.
Also, I changed to Slim since but I did not experience the issue again. And I have been using Push Notification Fixer just to make sure that things work properly.
Hope I didn't just jinx myself
Interesting, I now you need data on for long SMS or MMS.
But the IM should work without fault..

This has happened to me. The phone is in deep sleep and ignores Hangouts text messages. I turn the screen on and then it reacts but the message has its proper time stamp from much earlier.

Anyone else getting delayed push notifications?

Since I've had my phone, whenever i get notifications, pushbullet, gmail, even text and google voice, they'll get delayed until i wake my phone.
Sometimes they come through instantly, but they mostly wait until i wake the phone then they all come through at once.
Has anyone else been experiencing this or know of a fix?

nope
Try Google Apps and download
Samsung Push Service update
Samsung Push Service is oy applicable to Samsung apps.
the problem seems to mainly be with gmail and pushbullet. I just woke up and the second i woke my phone, i had 4 gmail notifications all hit me at once, but the emails actually came in like 6 hrs ago...
I have the same problem, for me it's with all applications. Already see the problem with Twitter, K9-mail, pushbullet, instagram and Hangouts. The same problem also see with Peel Smart remote like if smartphone sleet. But when I wake up, 10 seconds after I receive all notifications.
I'm having the same issue as well. Twitter, FB, Instagram, Amazon, etc. They show up after my screen has been on for a while...

Same problems here with both my wife's and and my phone. Once the phone is woken up all the notifications arrive. Though I will say, it's mainly Google related products, so wondering if it's a bug with Google apps or their servers? I've been getting a lot of updates the past week with their apps. One reason I think it's Google is with Hangouts, SMS works perfectly, but Hangouts via wifi is delayed and only notifications with Hangouts wifi will appear once the phone is woken. So makes me wonder if it is Google?
The notifications when you wake the phone is a feature in Motion and Gestures as Smart Alert. Its basically just reminding you that you received something when the phone was asleep!

I thought this feature makes the phone vibrate when you pick it up to let you know that you have received a notification.
For me, problem seems related to heartbeat interval. By default is 5 minutes, but if I cange it to 3 minutes, I receive my notifications.
I used "Push Notifications Fixer" on the Play Store to change the settings and seems work for the moments.
This is very much related to the problem I have seen and reported to ATT and Samsung

I"ve been having the same issues...I think it started after the last android update...I have the blue edge...other factor is that i have to use a micro cell tower
That is very odd, normally if you have this problem it is out the box, but it would not surprise me if the update breaks it. Again i would suggest you contact Samsung and let them know as well as your carrier.

I have the issue on both wifi and 4g.
You need to contact your Carrier and Samsung. That is the only way it will get resolved, they don't follow Reddit or any of these forums. Contact them direct.
Here is a link to my other post with my ticket numbers if you want to reference them.

OK I'll go with the L29 than.
Hi at all in the general page of Huawei Mate 8 in this forum speak that the problem isn't the Mate 8 but new version of Android, and change same option solve this problem, try to see it
Update from the new firmware B137 for AL-10. It seems the push notifications for FB messenger, whatsapp are working better now but gmail and viber doesnt. You still need to open the viber app to get the messeges or turn on the screen to get the emails... Tested after restarting phone and left it on sleep mode without opening any of the apps. Battery mode set on perfomance. If set on smart doesnt work. But the problem comes back if you free up the memory.
The other problem with google map still remains. It cant determinate your possition on network and wlans (battery saving mode) only if you switch to gps (high accuaracy)
B137 Update
I just updated to the B137 update, and I was able to get notifications from viber, twitter but not from whatsapp or snapchat so therefore I decided to update whatsapp via the hi app as it had an update. I updated it and after was then not able to receive any notifications from viber or twitter either. I deleted the whatsapp and re installed it again from the one in play store and was able to get twitter and viber notifications back again which was strange but i am still unable to get notifications from whatsapp and snapchat. ive checked permissions and notification settings between the four apps and they are all the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Gmail delay notifications.

I have switched from Nexus 5 to Pixel. Since i have switched to pixel i've been getting delayed notifications on gmail. email aren't pushed anymore as i use to get on my nexus 5. So far i have removed my gmail account and re-added it but still same. i have excluded gmail app from battery optimization but still same. i cannot keep on looking on emails. is there anyway to fix this issue ? please help.
I've not seen this issue. I get a lot of email with multiple gmail accounts using the gmail standard app. Stock unrooted. I don't use battery optimization though ever.
If you are using a non-stock setup, you might check with the rom builder to see if this is an issue with that setup.
Very common, I see it from time to time. There are several bug reports on Google about it. No known fix.

Start on the notifications tab under settings. Go to Gmail and start drilling down thru the menus. You might find something unchecked or not synched. Are you stock?

You gotta be missing something. Maybe wifi goes off when the phone is down or something? Have you tried it on LTE only and do you get notifications on other network related apps like news alerts? Messages don't count unless you're using Signal or WhatsApp which I believe rely on network connectivity more so than simple SMS. This is not a usual circumstance because if it was then everyone would have been reporting it long ago. You just gotta keep looking until you find the culprit.

im getting all other notifications timely. whatsapp, messengers, facebook e.t.c. only issue is with gmail. i have tried all the settings but the problem persist for no reason.
Just figured out what's really happening. Only getting notifications from primary inbox and not from other inboxes such as updates, forums, promotions e.t.c.
Even though in settings I have "tick" notify for every message but still no sound or notification.
I have cleared so for data/cache uninstalled Gmail app but same thing every time.
Finally found the solution to it. After digging into menu and settings and found that by default sub-folder (such as updates, forums, promotions) emails notifications are disabled. i had to manually enable it under "Manage Labels" tab to turn on the notification sound. Now its working as it use to be.
