I have couple of wired issues with my Samsung Galaxy S 3
SMS Notifications:
Sometimes, not always, only sometimes, I get an SMS but no notification is given. No statusbar notification and no sound/viberate notifications.
Nothing at all.
When open my SMS app, I can then see there is one unread message.
I even have reminder of unread messages which it remindes me of unread messages every 10mins., not even this notify me of these messages.
Does anyone have this issue?
Bluetooth headset:
Sometimes, when I start talking using my Jabra headset, all of sudden, there no more sound on it, then I need to press the button on the phone saying headset to switch back to phone and again press headset to switch again to headset, then it works.
Sometimes I have to switch between phone and headset once to get it to work, others, It happens every minute in a conversation so I need to switch between phone and headset everytime.
Anybody have such issues?
A bit more information about your setup would help us help you. Are you stock or running a ROM? How long has the text message thing been going on?
I bet the messaging problem is a network issue. It will probably go away in a day or less.
BTW wired means something uses a cable, opposite of wireless. Weird is synonymous with strange or bizarre.

hehe meant Weird, typing mistake, but this is not my problem right now
info:
I contacted my network and they could see that the phone failed to retrieve few messages, so they could see that the problem is with my phone.

I am using the stock sms app.

I guess i should.
But it is not rooted.
I am suspecting browsertexting app that does something. So I have now removed it and trying again.
But that for the SMS, not bluetooth problem.

As I have only data and sms on my subscription on my Tab I would like to have a dialer on the tab which uses my gmail contacts (they are already synced to the tab) to make a call through my Nexus One phone.
Then I could keep it in my pocket or somewhere else during driving as I use the tab for music and navigation in my car.
Does anyone know of a dialer that can do this?
That would definitely be cool.
So, you want the Tab/Nexus to immitate a bluetooth headset?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Just the tab.
So. I don't recall having seen anything that remotely controls a cellphone. However, couldn't you have google voice make a call the same way it does when you use it from your pc and it first calls the number associated with your google voice account, then connects the call with the desired contact?
I know that is not specifically what you are looking for but might provide some ideas.
Otherwise, from what I understand you are saying is basically a remote controll for your phone? It doesnt necissarily need to be via bluetooth. I control my ip handset over the internet with the tie in to my enterprise im client. I can control any of the several ip phones I have attached to my profile in the call manager.
Let me know if you find this elsewhere. Looks like a great application for the tab. Im starting to have device overload!

I have a 2013 Honda Accord which has an infotainment system that supports MAP. My phone asks if it wants to give it access, I said yes to all double checked in the settings that all are checked but it still doesn't do anything when someone texts me. It is supposed to Auto Read them and I made sure that setting is on on my car as well. This system should be the same as some Acuras as well.
Some additional info: When I choose select account it says this phone doesn't support this feature.
Same problem here with an aftermarket BT deck.
Has anyone got MAP to work with anything?
Works fine with 2012 BMW
MAP is flawless on my 2012 BMW iDrive system.

Did you do anything special? Or does it just work after connecting it to Bluetooth. I fear this is a Honda issue but that doesn't make much sense since it does support some Android phones that probably had MAP before and the iPhone.
I received a similar prompt asking about the car accessing my calls and another about messages. Accepted both and it just works.
MAP was added to CM 10.2 awhile ago, and it worked the same on my LG Optimus G (basically a Nexus 4).

Doesn't seem to work on my e90 my10 Idrive. It used to work with sense ROM but not with cm 10.2 on my HTC one x

Anyone have any luck getting this to work? I get an envelope icon on my iMid screen, but an error message stating "the connected phone does not support this feature" when it attempt to read out the message. I have a 2014 Accord EX-L.
I'm in the same boat as OP. I've got a 2013 Honda Civic Si and a Nexus 5, and they don't work well together.
From my research on this, I believe this to be a flaw within the Hangouts app, and not a communication problem between the phone and the head unit. After playing around with it for a while (deleting the pairing profiles, repairing the two devices, clearing the system in my car, etc.), I noticed a few things that lead me to this conclusion. After a few connection attempts, the car only successfully read me one message. Afterwards, the text message functionality on my i-MID was selectable, but clicking the enter button wouldn't do anything. Checking my phone, Hangouts was also frozen. The phone was telling me (via ringtone and notification popups) that I was receiving texts, but I couldn't read them until I disabled BT and force closed Hangouts.
Is this a common problem that we are all experiencing? Can any of you confirm or deny these ideas? Also, which messaging app is everyone using (I don't want recommendations, I want to know if this is Hangouts' fault or not)?
Got a 2014 accord same problem. My fix was stopping hangout.. Works fine now I have a nexus 4 running 4.4.4

I can confirm that my car's Nav system is able to notify me and then read SMS messages from my hangounts app on my N5 without any issues (Toyota). I can also send SMS messags from the car (thru' N5). Works fine, everytime. So, I don't think it is a hangouts issue.

The message access option should have been there every single time (unlike what you described). I'd suggest deleting the pairing from the phone and the car, and to try again. If the problem persists, try to pair it to another car (Toyota or not) and see if it works with that. If it does, that means it is an issue with your car's system. If it doesn't (and the other car can pair to other phone's with message access properly), it may be an issue with your phone.

Kinda glad to hear that it is working ok with another car - but at the same time, I'm not sure how helpful the dealership will be (assuming the problem d1oesn't get resolved by re-pairing) - automotive firmware is basically written in stone - very hard to get them to fix it. They usually keep blaming the phone. Good luck.

I assume you told them that it works with the Avalon - and they stuck with "it is your phone"... UGH! Funny how it works fine with one car, and not with another (even though both cars are made by same manufacturer). Yes, it must be using a different BT stack/hardware/software, but why not use the same one across the board? sheeeeeeeesh
Hey guys,
This is my first post, and I would greatly appreciate some help. I'm clearly quite a rookie at this. But I rooted my Verizon gs3 quite some time ago, and everything has run smoothly since. I did use it while in the UK on GiffGaff Mobile, and still worked fine. Now I am using Simple Mobile.
Just today, I installed the CyanogenMod 11 KitKat. I am able to send & receive MMS. And I can receive SMS, but I cannot send SMS.
I have tried changing the SMSC number using the dialer, but it keeps reverting back to "+12063130004",145 . I have also tried using different SMSC codes using the GoSMS app. I've played around with the APNs as well, but from the little that I know about this, this only has to do with MMS not SMS, correct?
Don't know what else to do, and I can't find any threads that have helped me yet.
PLEASE help, and I would greatly appreciate it.

If you toggle airplane mode or reboot the phone can you send an SMS? I haven't played with my phone at all lately but suddenly similar symptoms have manifested. I can send 1 SMS every time I reboot, but then it stops sending SMS after that one. Is this true with you? I haven't found a fix yet, but I'm trying to flush out the problem completely.

So what do you mean by go into the app? if I press menu> manage apps, and then under the tab "All" at the bottom there is a "Voice+". I'm on CM10.2 and it appears that the "Voice+" is part of CM. If I open my app drawer and scroll down there is no app called Voice+.

Hmm, that's odd that its not showing up in the app drawer. It should be. Do you use Google Voice at all? On my phone, the option to disable or uninstall is blocked when I go into Settings>Apps. But if you don't use the app and your phone allows you to, maybe try disabling and/or uninstalling from there?? Let me know, and I'll keep looking.

So, I have the option to force stop it. (no change in results).
I've even downloaded the "Google Voice" app, which added the "Voice+" app, opened it, confirmed that it was on disable and still no change.
I have no idea why this problem started this morning since I don't believe I am any changes to my phone the past couple days... I really don't know what information I can provide to help troubleshoot it...
I'm having the same exact problem starting this morning. I can send exactly one message and then I have to reboot or turn airplane mode on/off to send another. Everything was working perfectly fine yesterday, though. I've tried deleting my phone's cache in the recovery menu but it hasn't helped.

Carrier: Verizon. I was initially on CM 10.2 but both rolled back to CM 10.1 and upgraded to CM 11 to see if any of those fixed the problem. Neither did and I reluctantly (for now at least) went back to stock and unrooted my phone. Texting is working fine but I absolutely hate TouchWiz. I have no idea what could have caused the issue and, like you, I didn't make any changes at all before it happened. It literally appeared out of the blue.

A bunch of us on S4s seem to be having the same problem! The timing of this issue all happening at once is weird... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50552025
OK this really does seem to work for me as a temp workaround...it sticks through reboots and all. Go to the dialer and enter the trusty old *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone settings and change preferred network type to CDMA only then back out and reboot.
It kinda sucks cause it's slow on the go, but at least I can send texts reliably. I have WiFi most places I am anyway.
If anyone figures out a real long term fix please post!!!

Some people don't have voice+ and the solution you used isn't an option for them.
For those of us less fortunate than you, It seems you can fix the problem by loading a TW ROM and flashing the MB1 firmware. Then you can return to CM
I had XVoice+ for Exposed on my SGS4, it stopped me from sending texts. It was ok when i uninstalled it. I hope that might help.
I'm having some trouble with by Gear S3.
For some reason, every time someone calls me and I pick up on my phone, the audio comes through the watch which is a bit crazy. If I'm picking up from my phone, I want the audio on it (obviously).
I haven't found a setting that will specify to always use my phone for calls.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I'm on a Moto X Pure.
I had the same problem and this is what I did to fix it.
I did a soft reset on the watch and when it reconnected I went into the Gear app on the phone, Settings, Call Forwarding and hit Turn off.
Make sure it says call forwarding was successfully turned off.

Thats strange.
Maybe your gear software needs to be updated? Also try a hard reset of the watch.
There should also be a call forwarding setting on the watch that will allow you to disable it.
Strange.

It happens when I make calls from the phone. Once the other person answer the call, the audio automatically is routed to the watch.
In all other cases the watch works ok. eg. If someone call me and I answer on the phone the audio is not routed to the watch. If I use the watch to make or accept calls, work fine as well.
Did anyone find a solution to this?

Did you manage to solve this?
As I mentioned above I have the same issue with HTC 10.
A possible solution would be to disable the "phone audio" from the bluetooth settings of the device, but in my case this cause the gear s3 to be disconnected from the phone.
It is so annoying.
I have switched from Nexus 5 to Pixel. Since i have switched to pixel i've been getting delayed notifications on gmail. email aren't pushed anymore as i use to get on my nexus 5. So far i have removed my gmail account and re-added it but still same. i have excluded gmail app from battery optimization but still same. i cannot keep on looking on emails. is there anyway to fix this issue ? please help.
I've not seen this issue. I get a lot of email with multiple gmail accounts using the gmail standard app. Stock unrooted. I don't use battery optimization though ever.
If you are using a non-stock setup, you might check with the rom builder to see if this is an issue with that setup.
Very common, I see it from time to time. There are several bug reports on Google about it. No known fix.

Start on the notifications tab under settings. Go to Gmail and start drilling down thru the menus. You might find something unchecked or not synched. Are you stock?
Sent from my Pixel using XDA-Developers Legacy app

You gotta be missing something. Maybe wifi goes off when the phone is down or something? Have you tried it on LTE only and do you get notifications on other network related apps like news alerts? Messages don't count unless you're using Signal or WhatsApp which I believe rely on network connectivity more so than simple SMS. This is not a usual circumstance because if it was then everyone would have been reporting it long ago. You just gotta keep looking until you find the culprit.

im getting all other notifications timely. whatsapp, messengers, facebook e.t.c. only issue is with gmail. i have tried all the settings but the problem persist for no reason.
Just figured out what's really happening. Only getting notifications from primary inbox and not from other inboxes such as updates, forums, promotions e.t.c.
Even though in settings I have "tick" notify for every message but still no sound or notification.
I have cleared so for data/cache uninstalled Gmail app but same thing every time.
Finally found the solution to it. After digging into menu and settings and found that by default sub-folder (such as updates, forums, promotions) emails notifications are disabled. i had to manually enable it under "Manage Labels" tab to turn on the notification sound. Now its working as it use to be.
