[Q] Frozen s6 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

I just went on a trip to China and had my phone turned on airplane mode for the entire trip. On the third week I took my phone out of the charger to turn on in the morning and the only thing that turned on was a flashing blue light. It flashes from light blue to dark blue. I read that it is frozen, however, I tried everything that they recommended to try, different combinations of buttons and such. Verizon said they will replace the phone but I want the pictures from my trip in China off of it. I don't know what else to try. I called 1-800-SAMSUNG and they said they could do nothing for me. If I send it to them they will wipe the phone of any information. I went to Best Buy as well and they could not get in the phone. Please tell me if you have any ideas!!!!

What firmware are you on? So, you can't even turn it off?

I am not sure which firmware. I know there was an update during the time I was out of the country but I don't think my phone was updated. I can't turn it off. I just can turn it on, it goes to the blue blinking light and black screen and then the battery eventually dies and the blue light goes off until it is charged.

You do know that to enter maintenance mode, you have to hold the key combination for several seconds, don't you?

Another question. After it completely dies (completely), try charging it to 100%. Don't try to turn it on after that, though. Try to enter download mode. Volume down-power-home buttun. Hold them down, don't let them up. See if the option of download mode comes up.

I have made it to the maintenance screen with the normal reboot and a few other options but when I chose those the screen goes back to black. I have made it to the download mode as well but after I wait for it to download the screen also goes black.

Doesn't matter about the screen. Does odin see your phone? Have you ever used odin and do you have the Samsung USB drivers installed on your computer? Have you tried Smart Switch?
Edit: smart switch might wipe SD card. The "Home" .tar files are supposed to leave the SD card intact.
Both odin and smartswitch can be located here.

If you can do a factory reset from the menu, I believe it leaves the emulated SD card intact which is where your pictures are. Research it first of course but I would definitely try that before you ODIN.

HELP!! My One X won´t turn on =(

someone out there, please help me. Today when I went out to work I was playing with my phone and then put it away while I was driving. When I got back to it I tried to turn it on but it would not turn on, so I keep the On key pressed for a few seconds and then it turns on.
So I thought maybe the phone needed a restart, so I did. I pressed the On key for a second and then selected "Restart". and it never started back again. I´ve been trying to press the on key for like 1 minute a nothing shows up, I connect it to the charger and the charging led doesn´t light up.
When I connect it to my computer, it seems to recognize something in the task manager as it says "Unknown Device"
Anybody knows a method to make it boot? like a typical "battery Pull"?
Try holding Power key for 10 seconds?

This ^^. or try to boot into recovery (hold volume down, then press and hold power, hold both until the three androids appear. then use volume down to select "reboot"
thanks for the reply, I just tried that and nothing, no light, no led. The capacitive buttons don´t light up either. =(
Try leaving it plugged in for awhile to make sure it's charged before you try to reboot into recovery?

I was thinking an thought. With android, sometimes the phones just get messed around too much. When I had my galaxy nexus, everytime i meet a freeze or something, I just pull the battery and reboot the phone. If the phone is messed up and wont boot. I can still just pull the battery, put it in, and boot into recovery. Now, is there any safe way to do all of this? I am worried about the One X, and still am debating between this and the note, reason being I flash a lot and dunno wat i can do if i really just mess up my phone. Anyone have any ideas?

If you hold down the power button for 10 seconds it will hard reset the phone. This is exactly the same behavior as the iPhone and other phones with a non-removable battery.

I have the same problem, when I charge it the charging indicator doesn't even turn red or green. I tried a wall charger as well as connecting it to my computer. I tried holding the power button for 10 secs, also while holding down the volume down button. Nothing works. I'm going to call HTC tomorrow, and might need to bring it back to the shop.
It always seems a bit finicky to turn on for me. I still have no idea how exactly to turn it on, I jus randomly press the button until it turns on.
Try holding down the power + volume down button.

Infuse keeps flashing the Samsung Logo

Ok, my phone was working just fine and then it randomly shut down on me and then booted up to the Samsung logo screen. The phone would flash the logo for a few seconds, go black, and then does it again. I've pulled the battery out and once I put the battery back in, the phone automatically turns back on without me having to hold down the power button or anything. I can't seem to be able to enter download mode or be able to reset it either. When I plug it into my computer it does display the battery icon charging which stops the blinking but thats it. Can someone help?

[Q] Strange boot loop problem

So, yesterday my phone kept turning itself off for no apparent reason and then it would start vibrating constantly. I would take the battery out and restart the phone as normal and it would work. Later on, it shut off completely and did the same thing it had done for most of the day so I tried restarting it again like I had been doing. However, this time it would load the loading screen and get no further than it saying the model number before it turned off again and started vibrating. Before this time the phone would at least stay on for 10-15 minutes. I kept trying what I had been doing all day with no luck of it getting any further than the loading screen. If I put the battery in, it would immediately start up and then turn itself off and start vibrating again which it shouldn't do because I'd need to turn the phone on for it to load up. I looked up what the problem might be and people were saying to reboot the phone. I managed to get the recovery screen up for about 3 seconds before it turned off and started vibrating with a black screen again. Now the phone doesn't boot up/turn on at all if the battery is in. However if the battery is out and the phone is plugged into charge, then it would start up with the same problem as earlier. I would like to get to recovery to be able to either hard reset or flash a new rom, however, the phone will not boot into recovery, instead it will just turn it'self off again. The phone is not in usb debugging mode so I am unable to flash the phone via a third party software. Any help would be much appreciated as the phone is currently completely unusable.
Thank you.
check your power button ,it might be damaged...!!
No it's definitely not that because I could use it for get into recovery (even though it was for just a second, not long enough to be able to do anything). I have no idea what the problem could be.

that is the idea, if the power button is blocked you can enter recovery just for a sex then it reboots,
when you put the battery on it turns on?
Yes, it used to turn on straight away when the battery was inserted but this isn't happening now. Probably time for a new phone.

if it isnt happening now its because you have no more battery left
you can fix it to a service, its not so expensive

I have the same problem right now after a failed flash. So I would suppose it is not a stuck power button... I can't even get to recovery by the way....

I could get to download mode (for about 6 seconds)
After a lot of trying I suppose it must be the power button, as you suggested. I even succeded in installing a stock rom (by pressing the power button in the download mode every seconds or two)...
Seems strange though. I suppose pressing the power button to get into the download and recovery mode gets it stuck....
Thanks for your suggestion though. I will bring the smartphone to a store tomorrow and see if they can get it fixed.

Cannot boot in download or recover mode. Stuck on grey battery.

I have an S6 that's not rooted. It is model SM-G920R4 from US cellular. It just downloaded and installed a new android version on it's own. I don't know what the new version was going to be. When I checked to see if it was done the screen was off and unresponsive. I tried doing a reset but it didn't work so I plugged it into an outlet and the grey battery with a bolt comes on but no green like its not charging. It still would not turn on so I left it for an hour but still no change. I booted into download mode but not having a file to run I just chose the restart option which took me right back to battery screen. I cannot get into recovery mode at all as it just stays on the battery screen. These are all the options I know to try. Not being able to get into recovery mode makes me think I'm out of options. If anybody could let me know if there's anything else I can do I would appreciate it.
I just tried to get into download mode again and it will not go into that screen. After a couple secs the battery disappears like its going to go into the download screen but it never does. If I let go of the buttons it goes back to the battery.
Not certain but try to let your phone discharge. Even on the battery screen it is bound to run out.
Other things you can try is to plug it into wall outlet and hold ~30 seconds the power button and see if it power offs and then start the device again without charger on it.
I dunno how it's done in the US but if you still have warranty bring it back and check if they can fix it.
If their is a TWRP for your version I suggest you download it and attempt to get into download mode to flash it and then try to get into recovery mode. Otherwise download official firmware and flash that through odin and download mode.

S7 - Dead except for flashing blue light

My S7 was on the charger last night and worked fine. When I woke up, the screen is black, and the only sign of activity is a flashing blue LED. I've tried all the hardware keys to reset the phone, and nothing changes. Plugging the phone into my computer, no device shows up at all.
Any ideas to try and fix? This phone was stock, and not modded in any way.

I've had this issue when my phone was in a deep sleep state and wasn't able to wakup, but a simple reboot fixed it... So I'm hoping you have the same issue

If nothing else works like pressing power button home button and volume down and then waiting for your phone to vibrate twice, if you don't see anything you have damaged the display... If it works then good news screen isn't damaged

Worst case scenario is the systemui was modified and now keeps force closing, you'd have to reflash the stock rom through Odin. I found a wipe data factory reset in recoery doesn't work.
thanks for the reply, unfortunately no matter what i do, the device will not reset. the display remains blank, and the blue light remains flashing. I am familiar with using Odin, and my PC does not recognize that anything is being plugged into the USB ports. Right now I have the phone in the freezer trying to drain the battery to see if it will start up upon being recharged.

Try connecting the MicroUSB > USB adapter that came with the phone to a power hungry USB device such as a USB fan, see if it is working enough to power the fan or whatever you connect, which will drain the battery quickly
