Your play store can't execute it says first enable play services... Nd some location based applications...
Hope this helps
I am able to use the play store. HOwever, I see that pushbullet app is not working. Does it have anything to do with the notification access?

Same here. Got it yesterday
One of the good thing about having installed XPrivacy is that it notifies me about every single update - even the silent ones like play services that update in the background
I have 4.2.39 as well... Figures .42 will come eventually
What's so great about the updated service? Never really worried much about it.

I ended up downloading the Play Services update manually to use Allcast, but I'm not having any luck with it. I can get it to cast, but streaming video stops to buffer every few seconds from start to finish, making it unusable. I've only tried videos I've taken with the Nexus 5 itself so far. Anyone else experiencing this?

YES i noticed this same issue. My phone has been sleeping like a baby for so long, and yesterday it started draining every couple min with that location wakelock under Google Play Services.

The same here with v4.2.42. On all my devices Play Services are shown under Settings - Location Service and tell me that a little battery has been used. The devices are set to "Device only" (just GPS) and all the usual crap has been disabled (Search with Now, Google+, Hangouts, ...). I'm wondering what else needs my location. I do not want to disable also GPS to stop this.
I also have this version v4.2.42 but only save mode in Location settings and I don't see Google Play Services in the list of battery consumption for the moment.

Never had that issue, or nothing that's been noticeable anyway
Will the play store and play services work if I sideload them as user apps?
I currently have them as system and they are constantly running in the background and use battery and overheat the phone.:crying:
Will this behaviour top after I turn them into user apps?

Don't attempt to move google playstore or google play services as it might become a serious trouble. If I were you I'll use DU Speed Booster or SD Maid to stop apps from running at boot and save battery.

Your suggested methods will fail because even if i stop them at boot they restart afterwards
But if I install them as user apps will they work?
Moving them will not make the system unstable,I suppose ;but the apps should run
I installed the play store and play services user
Then i opened the play store and it closed without any mesage of FC or anything
then i tried the play services i.e. the google settings app and it worked
Can anyone tell me whats going on with play store and why it closes
Anyone who is willing to try this and develop a solution?

Install the playstore to System again. Google playstore needs access to system in order to work properly.

May be we will convert this to development thread.
We"ll try to make play store run as user app
or atleast find the reason why that wont work

to do that download and install greenify in the google play store.. for free

Hi everyone!
In this thread you find a small guide for get more free RAM on your device (about 40-50mb: screenshot).
First of all you need root permissions.
Second install DisableService. Now open it and select Google Play Services, so uncheck:
AdRequestBrokerService
AnalyticsIntentService
AnalyticsService
BrokeredFitnessService
CastService
CoreAnalyticsIntentService
DeviceConnectionServiceBroker
DispatchingService
GcmService
GeocodeService
GeofenceProviderService
GoogleLocationManagerService
GoogleLocationService
LocationWearableListenerService
NlpLocationRecieverService
WatchdogService
WearableControlService
WearableService
You'll get a lot of free RAM but I don't know what work and what doesn't work now.

I suppose that was the process checking for new firmware updates
you might add this to the OP.
It doesn't matter much now.
we aren't going to get any official updates now
Another thing , the NlpLocation service is the notorious google play process.
It wakes up the device at regular intervals.
Disabling it might actually save a bit of battery
.
Disabling the NlpLocation service won't cause any problems unless you use apps which depend on your location like Google Maps weather reporting apps etc.
Press thanks if I helped .
what about eventlogservice and ConfigFetchService in google play services?
A better solution: DELETE Google play services

Hii everyone i am using moto g xt1033 with stock rom, unrooted, bootloader locked..i am having noticeable battery drain on my moto g when my phone is idle..i found that google play services(google location service) is causing the battery drain..i tried to force stop but doesnt work..just disabling the app works...but the google play services is necessary for google apps like youtube, playstore, gmail etc..so plzz give me any solution to stop this unnecessary battery drain...thank you
On Un rooted the only option you can try is
1. Disconnect Internet
2. Uninstall Google play services update
3. Clear cache via recovery
4. Connect to Internet and use your phone normally.. Let Google play services update automatically..
This might help

i had tried to uninstall google play service update...then the battery drain stops but the thing is many google apps require new version of google play services to work..that is the reason i am so irritated with this thing..i tried many things but nothing works
Can you point out the battery drain so we can see if it is abnormal? Your screenshots only show that it is running, which means nothing since it is always running on all devices.
Upon reading your post it appears some app is constantly pinging for location. My solution is to either find the rogue app or simply turn off location (gps).

i do not use gps its most of the tym turned off..and currently i have disabled google play services so i cant post screenshot regarding battery drain..but the point is that google location services always keeps running in background taking much RAM and i think this service is generating unnecessary events for location, which results in waking up the cpu frequently, wasting cpu cycles which results in battery drain during the phone is idle..and i also downloaded an app namely GserviceFix but this app also didnt work for me..so any suggestion
Use greenify pro
Google play services will always be running.
I faced this issue some time back.. I had to root my device and use AppOps to disable wake ups from Google play services..

i know that but some services are not necessary like location services it keeps always running and drains your battery..and you cant force stop that..this issue was not before Google play services version 6..when it got updated to version 6 then this problem arises..you can check process stats in developer options..than you will came to know its not normal. it keeps running all the time.dont you ever noticed battery drain during night when your phone is in idle mode..which version of google play services are you using???are you rooted or not..well i think @madman will also try to help you make understand...he is a senior member here and well knowing...

bro i tried that app also and used that several times but didnt work..
Is there any solution for that? Im experiencing battery drain on 5.1.1., then on Euphoria-OS, no matter the version (20.08.2015 now).
I can use private setting to blok waking up and preventing a sleep for Google Play Service but then I have error message "google services stopped" every other second.
Hi everyone!
I installed the Google services on my p40pro, here come the question: many apps (like Google Pay) can't be run because the phone is identified like rooted/modded. Is there any chance to fix this? Lz Play is meant to enable a kind of rooting mode?
Thank you
Max

It's not root, It's actually the lack of safetynet.
Removing LzPlay Doesn't help.
Why did you need to install GMS?..
