i just bought it. .its actually a nice app .i think its only going to get better with a bit more customization. . i dont have a Tab but imagine this would be a must have app for tab owners..
also downloaded aircalc (which is free). . nice little floating calculator. .
You guys get Stick It and OverSkreen by dev myboyfriendisageek?
It works but I like Cornerstones way of 3 dedicated windows for any app. Anyone know if Cornerstone is releasing anything soon?

Its something that modifies the Android framework, so it cannot be a regular app. It has to be cooked into the ROM by the developer in order to be used. It's also incredibly unstable and is renown for breaking root access while open. The kinks are being worked out...

I got it yesterday and it is as good as the video shows. Very smooth. If they can get OverSkreen to work with other apps (like cornerstone onskreen does) it would truly be amazing!
im speechless.....very good app!..THANKS!!!!
Looks cool kinda would be sweet if you had the option to use say chrome or a different browser vs being stand alone browser?

Thanks for the tip!
I just installed this app, and wow! I wasn't even sure I had any use for it, but after a couple minutes I was enjoying the heck out of it. I usually use the desktop view in my regular browser (Dolphin), so I'll just keep this one in mobile view and use it for quickly checking out links without switching away from Tweetdeck or whatever I'm in. In fact, it's awesome to be able to click a link, start that page loading, and then continue browsing through tweets or posts while the page/video/whatever is loading in the Overskreen window.
It's very smooth, too; almost too responsive, if that's possible. I'm impressed.
The one down side is lack of flash support in Android 2.x. However, 3.0 and 4.0 are supported, so that shouldn't be an issue for much longer. If I need to visit a flash site, I can just jump over to Dolphin anyway.

yea the video looks great.

i bought this and love it. are there any other launchers or apps that work like this? feels more like a PC every day.
another update today. .with sliding tabs. . this is becoming my favorite browser and overall app. .
Thanks for letting us know about this, I installed it without knowing if it was something I would use but on first run I saw many benefits, especially on a large screen device like the Note.
I particularly liked the fact you can view YouTube vids full screen then scale the browser window to whatever size you want, then maybe have a cool tutorial video in the corner as you work on the app underneath!
It was a bit pricey but I think in this case it was worth it.
Hey guys!
I am a massive android fan and i have done all sorts with my Samsung Galaxy S! But I am dissapointed
that the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 doesnt have much support :/ so i want to know what cool things i can do with it!
What i have done is rooted it and ran apex launcher on it but thats as far as ive gone. Until stable cm 10.1 comes out i wont be installing
Custom roms i just wanf to know cool thing i can do with this awesome device!
Eg.
Custom ui buttons (back, home, task manager and screenshot)
Custom multitasking apps.
Etc!!!
Thanks in advance
(Links if applicable would be appreciated
cm10.1 is stable.
you have custom rom fully working based on samsung firmware
aokp is stable
paranoid is stable
baked is stable,
sure it's not that much but enough to have fun
I am very aware of that . I'm just a big fan of CyanogenMod and I want the first ROM on my tab to be the official stable version of cm 10.1

the coolest thing about the galaxy is its IR (infrared). If you go CyanogenMod, which im also a huge fan of, you'll lose this option (most roms out there lack of these function as i learned that IR drivers from samsung are closed source.

The IR is fairly useless. I programmed it to work my tv, but the peel app gave me hardly any buttons, and since I use my tv remote to control xbmc through cec it was pretty useless. It also couldn't control my sound bar properly. The only other app I found that uses the IR blaster is touchsquid which is very over priced. If your home theater is more complicated than a tv and cable box its pointless. Not to mention I can use a remote without looking at it since I can feel buttons. The peel app is more about being a program guide than a useful remote. While I think the IR is a neat feature to have, it's not even close to being taken advantage of.

I love Peel app remote control and find it really useful since I have mutliple TVs and multiple houses, and also Viggle which gives you prizes for watching TV. I also have the Vulkano streaming device so I can watch my cable shows anywhere or watch 2 or more sporting events at once.
You could use it to controle your pc with remote desktop app

there is so much you can do...
First thing, I hope you upgraded to JB before rooting your tablet or you will have to flash CyanogenMod 10.1 to upgrade to JB. I flashed CM 10.1 and I love the upgrade to android 4.2.1
As far as cool things...
1. Install Linux...
2. Install droid mote server and droid mote client on your phone.
3. Install team viewer to control your computers remotely
4. Upgrade with custom ROMs
5. Its all about apps with android...I love playing games like dead trigger or shadow gun on my tablet and using droid mote client on my phone as a joystick/controller.
6. Grab custom apk files from the internet like map for android.
Most of these ideas have already been mentioned I just thought I'd elaborate more...
My name is Stijn I'm from Holland and this is my second Android phone. Before i bought my s4 I had a HTC desire. I had the desire for three years after it started to act up when getting hot. Found out this was a hardware defect and decided to buy the s4. I havev the i9505 with the snapdragon soc.
First of I was a bit disappointed about the smoothness of the phone. Animations where not all that smooth and I experienced lag using the phone in general. I was surprised however about the possibilities It presented out of the box. The video player for example has the option to play content on your smart tv . This worked great for me. I like the keyboard, the toggles in the drop down notification panel, and was not as bothered with touch wiz as I expected to be coming from CM on my desire. Also the watchon app that can act as a remote for your tv is cool.
So when opting for a custom rom I chose a stock based rom. Omega v3 was the one I went for.
It simple enough to flash when you follow instructions, but a bit of a hassle as you have to flash a stock firmware first. Lots to download!
Strait after flashing i noticed a big difference. Almost all lag was gone. Then I desided to flash a custom kernel. I went for fauxes as I used his kernel on my n7 and liked it.
After this I had the phone I wanted all along performance wise. No lag and blazing fast. Both the rom and kernel allow you a lot of tweak lots of stuff to make it act the way you want to. Worth mentioning is the app omega files that comes with the rom. It was updated yesterday and it gives you lots of freedom to change anything in the rom, from themes and mods to actual kernels that are compatible with the rom. Great stuff!
I also installed the 3 minit framework mod found in the android dev section. Man this app is great. It let's you change a lot of ui components on the fly with a well designed app that comes with the mod. Things like statusbar color, icons and many more are now under my control. And the dev is expanding the mod as we speak. You can make feature requests in the corresponding thread and they are implemented really quickly. Keep it UP Gharrington!
Also installed an app from the market wich allows for every app to be runned in multi Window mode. Nice.
I also bought the samsung mhl cable . It works great but the fact by our can't turn the screen of the phone of while it's displaying your android on the TV is annoying. Of course there is a root app that gives you this possibility. Yey to root.
Things I would like to test are miracast or allshare wireless screen mirroring and the dock with hdmi and usb ports.
Let me know what your experience is with your custom or stock rom and what you do with your phone.

So I have been on Touchwiz 4.1.2 (AxisM RLS 21) for a long time and when the GEL laucher apk came out I installed it on my phone and I fell in love with it as soon as I got it and that got me wondering..."What features of Touchwiz do I actually use?" If I dont use any features of Touchwiz then I want to flash a 4.4 ROM (most likely Cyanogen Mod) on my S3. So my question to you is What features are specific to Touchwiz (4.1.2) that arent in Stock (4.4) or on Cyanogen Mod?

not just that but knox is like a sandboxed environment essentially separating 2 parts of your phone
for like example 1 work and 1 for development if one of them gets compromised it wont affect the other and you can manage things like remote wipe etc

You lose all of the Samsung branded apps, Kies, and the questionable smart stay function. In return, you get complete control of your device. I have tried a few times to go back to a TW rom in the last year (when CM development slows down and I get bored), but it always feels like going back to kindergarten...
I am on sspencer10's 4.4 build and love it. I even am using the new ART and enjoying the best battery life and smooth function that I have ever had. A few CM options have yet to be thrown in, but these guys are moving fast, and this is my daily driver since last week.

Liquid Smooth
After months of fearing the rooting process, I pulled the trigger last night and rooted my phone for the first time. I flashed a rom (Liquid Smooth to be specific) and I'm loving it. You should definitely get off of TouchWiz as you'll never want to go back!

I saw the OP and I saw that the changelog hasnt been updated in a while. If you dont mind can you tell me what are the bugs and whatnot on it?
The OP in that thread is current. He just does not build everyday because CM does not do a lot daily. Others are cherry picking a lot to add features; they also revert a lot of stuff they cannot get to work. Right now, the camera is not ultra reliable, but everything else is great right now. I use nova, tibu, ROM manager, es file explorer, etc. for utility. 200 or so other apps are stable as well.

So because we have a CM phone we've got the option ALREADY to start using the ART runtime instead of the dalvik one.
My question is: Has anyone tried it? As the warning message that comes up is pretty scary but the fact that it's happening in Android L makes it sound like it's a pretty safe bet to start using it now.
Actually all kitkat builds that have developer options enabled have the option to switch to art. Quite a few apps don't support art yet, like xposed, so I'm not switching yet.

Not sure what you mean, Android L use ART exclusively, but it is backward compatible with Dalvik apps.

Slingbox with ART
The last time I tried ART the Slingbox app would not work so I had to go back. I've read that Slingbox is coming out with an update to their Android App in late July. I don't know if it will address this but I'll probably try again after that update.

i dont need things like gravity box since the phone is already running cyanogenmod. but i have things like statusbar scroll to top, and rootclock, and a thing to default the youtube app to my subscriptions. ones i want working that are not are appopsxposed which crashes when you try to set permissions, and nfc lockscreenoff enabler which isnt unlocking my phone with an nfc tag.
When I select ART it doesn't stick on reboot. Every time it comes back as Dalvik.
Can anyone offer any thoughts on what might be holding it back?

Running ART since I've had my Nexus 5 and still doing it with my OPO, no problems. The benefits are definitely worth it for me, makes SwiftKey less laggy when it comes to opening up the list of emojis.
All sorted now.
I had to reinstall Xposed, and uninstall the framework from inside the app, then uninstall the installer again.
Working nicely.
I've been running in ART since I got my hands on it...... Huge difference in performance. Everything seems to snap faster.
