Is porting Double Tap 2 Wake drains battery? - Android General

i am no developer, just a root junkie. so straight to the point, does ported dt2w consumes too much battery? in my experience with the xperia s, i dont have any battery drains. im just curious because devs on my current phone; xperia sp, doesnt want to port dt2w.

It's because it causes issues with the screen always being awake like when on a phone call.

i have sony xperia tipo dual
i think this is the best phone under 11,000 range
regarding battery its ok
full use of internet and other like musi play gives 5hr backup
default backup is 1 to 1 and half day
touch is good
only problem is with screen size when you are typing any thing........
and little bit lagy while opening msgs and call log.........
Thank you bro.

Here's my review: It's cheap **** phone It's good because it's cheap. I had a SGS plus and now I can not get used to the Xperia Tipo. The only plus I noticed the speaker. Compared to the samsung is very loud and clear.
Personally, I think the phone is fine itself.
The fact that it's not a real big, or super advanced phone, is getting compensated by the fact that it runs 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The average battery life is around 2 days, which is fine,
App compatibility: many popular apps work fine on Tipo.
There have been reports of problems with the touchscreen, but even if you have these issues, they are fixable, blindshooter already aquired the official Sony screen calibration patch. For the rest, the touch is good. Warmth-sensitive, but good enough for this phone, especially in it's price-range.
I agree a bit with hard91 about the typing, it's a bit hard to type because of the small screen, and the keyboard sometimes laggs coming up and going down again when you do or do not click a textbox. But I replaced my native keyboard with a swipe keyboard from market, called TouchPal. To me that works fine. Not that bad a thing.
Have Fun buying a new phone!
Thanks bro.

it is difficult to use the power button. Is there anyway to wake up the phone using volume button?

Would maybe be possible by modding keybinds, but I don't think it's done yet. Also it's not that big of a concern as most people don't have problems with the power button.

[Q] is this the sign that battery is bad?

I have the samsung galaxy tab p1000 for about 1 yr 2 months, I did power off the system to charge to 100%, when I boot it up again, it show 27%, almost the same percentage when I power off. During the day when I use it, the number will drop but if I reboot it again the percentage might be a lot smaller, the charge cycle take 6-8 hrs.
the battery app I use is Battery HD.
it is gingerbread 2.3.3, rooted.
how do I tell if this is battery problem or I need to reinstall the ROM again?
thanks for any help.
My friend had like tht problem but it writen too much charged... he take it to service and now all ok

Disabling second core

I dont get a very good battery backup.....i tried both phantom and thunderzap kernels.
The best i can do is that i run the phone at 810 Mhz with undervolted cpu .....i even lowered the brightness a lot more than the default limit.......now how about disabling the second core and run the core0 at 810 Mhz or say 1 Ghz ??? or maybe a little overclock.
Kernel tuner app doesnt help....same is the case with "2nd Core" app and "Xcore " app ......can someone help me ????
Sent from my C2104 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If u disable 2nd core u will hav lags.so its better not to do that.u should show it to the sony service centre to find whats making ur battery drain problem.maybe its battery prob dude

Make sure that SuperSu is up to date. Trickster Mode relies on it to execute and hold settings.

I flashed thunderzap again (i m a user of phantom ) .....this time it works ......its weird.....
Anyways , thanks a lot dude .....i ll post here after a day or two that how well this setting works ......is there no way to achieve this on phantom kernel ? Because all the point of disabling the second core is battery life and people say that phantom has got better battery backup .....no offence to thunderzap and i havent tested it personally
Have u been using the phone with just one core ??? If yes , then how isbthe battery ??
Sent from my C2104 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No I use both cores with Phantom 4.5
Since I don't game and only use my phone for mail, surf and calls my battery is really good. I can go for 1.5 days easily. Phone is slightly overclocked overclocked as well to 1.24Ghz
Try unvolting.. & unlock on events like call, screen off, playing music, etc.. Tasker might help you with this all..

Had the same problem. Go to setting-battery and see if Android OS drains more then 50%. If it does one of your applications is responsible for that. Fastest way to solve problem is to reflash stock rom, you have tutorial on this forum how to do that.

It happens to me too alot of times.. It happens when apps consume too much of power. Try disabling some of the rarely used apps with greenify

Nope pretty sure it doesn't have it I ain't seen it in the settings and its a kernel related issue I think anyway. If you use the latest beta version of the xperia launcher it has the dtts option

One day max here - between 5 or 7 hours when screen is up, and using Stamina mode , - 4g,bluethooth and gps. And apps usage - 6 % for ~16 hrs.
I hope a developer will pop out to enable this feature
