To me any sound is OK, I would never remove them ... For the battery , it is also possibel to have battery percentage show without root , on the other hand Viper4Android is good as I have rooted S4 with CM 12.1 and it is good but not soo good in my opinion so I would root my new S6 ( even as I payed it much less then full price, but I want to have warranty if I need it) ... Only reason I rooted s4 was because of some problems on stock ... But that is other story ...
And the thing that I have with non rooted s6 are just as good or better ( personal preference) then any custom room I have ever seen since my first android phone I had ....

Samsung usually only checks if Knox was ever tripped when you send it in with a software Problem. I've send mine in even still with twrp on it and the screen with the dead pixel was replaced on warranty.

Where are my manners, welcome to the forum.
You may want to read up about the process and also the repercussions of rooting. Have you ever Jailbroken an iPhone? Well rooting is the same thing for Android. It will give you access to the root filesystem and will allow you to edit system files to do stuff like, disable the splash screen on boot among other things. If this is all new to you your in for quite a read.
One thing about rooting the Note 3 is it will trip knox, which in turn will void your warranty. You may be lucky and have a model which can be rooted using RDLV, a method which doesn't trip knox and thus preserves your warranty. Knox is a fairly new thing from Samsung, which is designed to provide "advanced data and privacy protection". It is irreversible(at this point in time) and so you will have to weigh up what is more important, root or warranty.

Hey XDA!
Last week I've bought my new Galaxy S 4 Value Edition. I've accepted to have 2 years of total warranty.
I've asked the guys in the store about warranty void from root. They said, I will lose it if I root my phone. I'm really need root, so now I'm in a big trouble.
My questions :
-How the service guys know , I've rooted? I know about Flash count in download mode , but is Galaxy S4 able to flash it down with Triangle Away?
-Or is there any other ways to know about root?
And the last one:
- If there is a safe method, what will work, and Triangle Away will fix my problem , please notify me about it in the Comments section!
Thanks for the help and Merry Christmas
Developers!

Galaxy S5, rooted - Android Pay blocked. What is the latest state of play on workarounds for this?
According to this, android pay will not work on rooted phones
http://www.xda-developers.com/android-pay-no-longer-working-with-systemless-root/
mine is NOT rooted app starts its when adding the card its states it does not recognize if the device is supported
Mine allows me to confirm my card details then says that the authorisation has failed as "Google does not accept cards from all us territories" ?? (Non-rooted)
ok gonna take a shot in the dark with this one, i recon that maybe you must have the banking app installed from participating banks maybe?

However, this information seems to be about 4 months old.; also, the article mentions a workaround. My question was really aimed at finding out whether there might be any more recent developments of use to UK users, as Android Pay only just launched here.

Whats the best way to root a Galaxy J7 from tmobile USA, model SM-J700T?
I thought I would have this j7 rooted already myself.
Ran into fastboot issues like in the V10 forums after mm update. Seems fastboot oem unlock is disabled yet you can click to unlock in developers? Kinda of pisses me off about that. Everyone blamed LG for that but now I see a 2nd T-Mobile phone with same issue.

Yeah the J7 is good for the price without all the bells and whistles. I am seriously thinking of returning it for a refund and getting a Note 5.
I can understand that. I didn't get a note partly because since i want to remove as much samsung software as possible, it makes the s-pen almost unusable therefore a waste of the extra money. Also, i am little impressed with this device for the money. Had it been only 1-1 1/2 gig of ram like the other models I'd pass on it.

The only reason I"m returning this phone is because it lacks an LED notification light. If it had it I would really keep it.

After some custom rom installation , my phone started showing imei null and unknown baseband version .
Have tried all the tutorials available online . Unfortunately didn't have a backup . Tried flashing different Roms (stock as well as custom ) , have tried and flashed different modems as well . When I try and enter the service or engineering mode , all I get is a blank page . Have tried almost evrything . And I am not able to find the NVRAM folder even after rooting . I guess that could be the issue . Can someone share their NVRAM folder or guide me to an alternative solution . Thnks .

Well to be honest you are totally ****ed. How the hell you survive. Same happened to me when i had note 2 and didnt have a backup. Did everything but finally went to samsung store.
P.S. Those money suckers charged me around $107 or around ₹7300 and told me they had to replace the whole mother board (which they never do in this case and just fool people)

They just tells you that they changed the mother board but actually they just look up for the imei in their database of your phone and manually put it using some private software and Samsung servers which we in any case cant use . Its a matter of 10 to 20 min but took them 9 days to do it.
Samsung India service centers are damn slow

Hei. I also getting in your case in two weeks before i buy note 3 .. My ex phone is samsung S3, and i know it's will happen if you downgrade your firmware.. Then i flashed new firmware from sammobile.com but nothing happen in my signal.. After that i find another way .. I found a thread in xda . they share modem patch for s3 .. And then i just flash my s3 to lastest rom in my country then root and instal cwm then flash the patch.. After reboot my signal full and normal again .
In this case you can flash lastest firmware for note 3. And search modem flash .. Or you can put juat the modem from firmware to odin one by one .
Sorry my english so bad

You can find the modem from here..
Not download full firmware. Just flashable patch modem
