Okay...Coming from an IPhone here and reading about all that stuff. I saw other NOTEs with no carrier screen on is there is a difference between mine and the other ones?
Thanks!

Where are my manners, welcome to the forum.
You may want to read up about the process and also the repercussions of rooting. Have you ever Jailbroken an iPhone? Well rooting is the same thing for Android. It will give you access to the root filesystem and will allow you to edit system files to do stuff like, disable the splash screen on boot among other things. If this is all new to you your in for quite a read.
One thing about rooting the Note 3 is it will trip knox, which in turn will void your warranty. You may be lucky and have a model which can be rooted using RDLV, a method which doesn't trip knox and thus preserves your warranty. Knox is a fairly new thing from Samsung, which is designed to provide "advanced data and privacy protection". It is irreversible(at this point in time) and so you will have to weigh up what is more important, root or warranty.

Hey XDA!
Last week I've bought my new Galaxy S 4 Value Edition. I've accepted to have 2 years of total warranty.
I've asked the guys in the store about warranty void from root. They said, I will lose it if I root my phone. I'm really need root, so now I'm in a big trouble.
My questions :
-How the service guys know , I've rooted? I know about Flash count in download mode , but is Galaxy S4 able to flash it down with Triangle Away?
-Or is there any other ways to know about root?
And the last one:
- If there is a safe method, what will work, and Triangle Away will fix my problem , please notify me about it in the Comments section!
Thanks for the help and Merry Christmas

To me any sound is OK, I would never remove them ... For the battery , it is also possibel to have battery percentage show without root , on the other hand Viper4Android is good as I have rooted S4 with CM 12.1 and it is good but not soo good in my opinion so I would root my new S6 ( even as I payed it much less then full price, but I want to have warranty if I need it) ... Only reason I rooted s4 was because of some problems on stock ... But that is other story ...
And the thing that I have with non rooted s6 are just as good or better ( personal preference) then any custom room I have ever seen since my first android phone I had ....

Samsung usually only checks if Knox was ever tripped when you send it in with a software Problem. I've send mine in even still with twrp on it and the screen with the dead pixel was replaced on warranty.

It absolutely is possible, and absolutely does not need root. For those saying its not possible without root, can you please explain to me why this video shows me doing it??? @roydok Its possible and easy!
This is a factory wipe on a fresh firmware unrooted with status showing as Official and root checker showing no root.
https://youtu.be/c7BuS5EF3Yk
PS please excuse my dickish attitude in the video. Drinking with the Irish brings the nasty out in me
The procedure does not work on my dual SIM G920FD Duos S6 no matter how many times I try entering any of the 2 IMEIs of my S6. I guess root is the only way for me to change CSC.

It seams there is the caveat. We sorry saps in Canada haven't been given the 5.1.1 update. We're the bastard redheaded step child of the S6 community. They must have locked it down in 5.1.1. When we finally get it here I'll let you know what I find out.

I had my sprint S6E DSU'ed successfully by him. It's legit & the whole process was super quick. I tested with my Straight Talk AT&T SIM card from my Nexus 5X. Thx to Sprint gimping the phone, no band 17 LTE but HSPA worked just fine. Thx @stifilz !

Excellent! We had a few issues with my SM-G925P but it worked in the end. I recommend updating to the latest stock firmware and rooting your phone with Unikernel. We had issues trying to unlock it on rooted OF7 and trying to unlock it on stock OI7.
Otherwise, totally legit and definitely works. Will post proof if anyone has doubts.

Hello, I have unlocked my phone with GCpro using the Sprint Unlock feature. It now reads the SIM and gets Text and Calls but no data. I get the LTE: ESM -33 EMM-x error message. Unable to establish a wireless data connection. I am trying to use G925p on Att. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get it working data wise? Thank you.
Did you set it to GSM/UMTS mode in Settings? Also, did you add the AT&T APN? My S6E worked fine on AT&T. No band 17 LTE but I did get HSPA+.

Ive searched the forums, and google, and cant seem to find a clear answer as to what I will lose when I trip the fuse. I just got a new(used) Galaxy S6, and the bloatware is driving me crazy. From what I understand knox is for protecting corporate data, by separating it from your personal data, now that tells me that I would need a app to make use of it, and it just basically isolates accounts/apps from each other, but Ive read I will lose the pay function also, does that include all NFC pay methods, or just samsung?
Also are there custom roms that support using the fingerprint unlock?
Samsung Pay will not work (although I hear Magisk can help with that). Other pay services may or may not work. If your company permits BYOD, they likely won't if Knox is tripped.
Fingerprint functionality is directly related to the kernel; so, if the ROM uses a stock kernel, Fingerprint should work. XtreStoLite, for example, has a working scanner.

Thank you, this is a personal phone, so I have no employer to worry about.
I know I can 'debloat' without root, but that just hides the icons from my understanding, I want the junk gone.
It disables the apps, which in turn hides the icons. There's zero performance difference between disabling, and removing. They'll take up space in the read-only /system partition, but you'll never, ever use the space if they're removed.

Gatesjunior made a great debloat tool. Here's a link, using the Note 7 as an example. There are safe-to-debloat lists for most phones, including the S6.

Just for information: Magisk won't help if your knox is already tripped.
