[Completed] [Q]How can enable 3g on both sim cards? - XDA Assist

Hi. I use Nokia X2 Dual Sim phone with CM11 build. We can only make calls via 3g for now. (rom's hal some bugs which anyone hasnt fixed yet)
But we can set 3g for only one sim card. So we cant use other sim card for calling feature. So, how can enable 3g for both sims? (not data)
I can modify apk's via apktool.
Who can help me, I will donate him/her?
Waiting for your helps, thanks.

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The best place to ask is in your device's specific forum. And since you're a senior member I see you know where that is. Our mission on XDA is to make sure you get to the right place to ask. So I'm going to close this thread.

There's no way.
The Xperia Tipo Dual is an Dual Sim In-active device (or dual-sim standby), that means only one simcard can be active at a time.
You sort of got a bit tricked by Sony there, there has been many people complaining about this.
I'm sorry for you,
Good luck!
As far as I know there is no dual sim phone in existence that can run both Sims at the same time
Dual sim means Two sims but only one gsm chipset meaning only one connection
If you could run them both at the same time all you would get is interference from one or the other

There are in fact dual-sim active phones out there. The only difference is that the phone will in example usually show 2 call options. For each simcard one option.
An example of an Dual-Sim Active phone that is out there is the Samsung Galaxy S Duos.
That, in fact, is a great advantage.
Doesn't that require two gsm chipsets which would drain the battery in double time
Also can it make two separate calls one from each sim at the same time if not then just as bad as dual sim inactive phone

I think it has two antennas installed. But honestly I do not know much about it. Just knew they exsisted, and knew Duos was one. Soooo...
I think you can also turn them of again. You can call from seperate SIMs and etc.

Fair enough

well...for the first one, when you're in call the another sim card will deactivated automatically. you can't imagine how your system will be confused when your sim1 call your sim2 if both of them active for same time. this rule applied for every dual-sim phone. for the second stuff, I don't know. I never heard this report before. dragoboss seems quite often visit sony's forum. do you ever heard this issue, dragoboss?
Been reading many forums, many topics about the fact that 1 SIM deactivates when the other is activated on Tipo dual. Same issue, same answer every time. Dual-SIM Standby phone it is.
I only passed on the answers I read myself a amount of times even though I do not own a Dual myself xD
I couldn't figure out if I am supposed to be offended by ur post or that it was an honest question/comment.

lol...im just feeding up my curiosity. along with silent bob, both of you are one of most active member here. this tipo actually my first xperia device. both of you seems know better about this device. I hope I could learn more from both of you.
I don't know much about it either
Although imho dual sim is useless for my uses until I can use both sims at the same time
I think I'll stick with carrying two phones

[Q] JB Global Mode and Data connectioin

I was all excited to get the Verizon JB update because of the rumoured "Global Mode", thinking I'd be able to pop in a SIM card from a different provider when travelling overseas.
However, gauging from comments on other forums, it seems that Verizon still keeps the phone locked, and allows only voice connection when the user goes on a different network when travelling outside of the US... Obviously, it won't work with competitors' network such as AT&T or T-Mobile...
The general consensus ( I won't be travelling for 5 weeks so I can't confirm this ) is that there isn't a way to enter the APN when a new SIM card is inserted and the users are only able to make phone calls with the new cell provider, but no data connections are feasible.
Can someone please chime it? Have you been successful in using data connection on your Verizon SG3 when travelling overseas? If so, how did you manage to enter the APN setting?
any input is greatly appreciated...
cheers,
James.

Download APN Global from the play store, once the international SIM is inserted, run the program and it should pull in the needed APN info....I've not tried it, only read about it on other forums.....so good luck

[Q] Sim Cards In Japan

I hope this is the correct thread for this. I have a galaxy s3 rooted, running AOSP hurray. My question is do you guys know if the Verizon S3 is data capable in Japan? There is a service that offers a DATA sim card for 1GB. In theory I can just grab a micro sim and slip it in and data will work. Just wondering if this is correct. I only need data on my phone because I use LINE to talk to everyone I know, so voice and calls aren't important. Thanks for the help!!!
Here is the website that has the sims.
http://www.bmobile.ne.jp/english/1gb.html
It should in theory! but i dont know if the same applies in ASOP roms, but if you let me know what rom you are running, i will install in on my phone and see if it runs with GSM services for DATA
Hey that would be great! Im running carbon 1.7 4.2.2, and the included kernel. I think it can be done you just have to use APN manager to switch some things around haha

With that Rom, you can use GSM, so you shouldnt have any problems

SCH-R530 from US Cellular - why no worky?

Hey ladies and gets,
I am new here and I do not have much experience. I have been on an android binge for a week now and I have read a lot of threads, and flashed my phone so many times already.
Here is the info:
Samsung Galaxy SIII (LTE I guess)
SCH-R530, and in some places it shows SCH-R530U
Currently running on the latest nightly cyo..10.2
IMEI starts with 99000... and I have checked its not stolen or anything - there is also a sticker behind the bat that confirms it.
Originally a US Cellular Phone, I want to get it working with T-Mobile.
Things I have tried:
-I got the Samsung Tool Kit (donated), received all the updates - and the phone still does not unlock the network operators.
-Used a method from youtube - CDMA Workshop - connect to the serial port - security - samsung defaults - screen on pc says unlocked but phone is not although it is answering to the program.
- No option for the network lock as known in the 530
-Used three different online services - but they said no can do.
- Called tmobile - and placed a request and they said - that IME does not correspond to the model of the phone(???)
I am a student, I can't afford to get anything else - so please help or point me in the right direction. Thank you
I don't think you can do it.
I don't believe it will work because Us cellular is cdma and T-Mobile is gsm.

There seem to be different opinions on the net. Phone like mine have the added abillity to receive CDMA radios i guess, but they do not lack any of the hardware for gsm.
I am not sure about any of this however, thats why I came here.

Just a little update:
I have not been able to make any progress at all.
I have updated my 4.3 on the regular basis - however when I did the nightly 6, and 7 both locked up on the boot menu.
Anyways, today i reinserted my tmobile sim card and when I try to make a call - I get Verizon Wireless automated services that say that i can be transferred to complete the call with a credit card and stuff.
Why verizon? this is a us cellular phone?
Also when i switch to gsm mode - it still does not locate any tmobile operators?
US Cell phone is a dead end. This thread might as well be deleted.

Vzw bought out USC... in some areas I believe? Any how now no the USC will not work on T-Mobile. At least not stock....yet. It may be possible to get voice working but that would be about it. If you could vet data the most it would possibly be is edge as far as I know.... If you want to try something I would try flashing a sch-i535 ROM of 4.0.x-4.1.1 Odin would be best but do not flash the radio/modem. I am not Of 100% on this but Odin might skip over the modem if flashing i535 ROM to the r530. If not mobile Odin is able to only flash selected partitions of choice. Make sure you use a pre rooted ROM. After that and it is successful you may be able to follow the guide posted some where in here on how to use the i535 globally. It will require APN pro I believe. And another app to be able to select gsm global (don't recall for sure) if you find the guide it will tell you. . good luck and let me know if that helps.

[Completed] [Q] Simultaneous Voice and Data with a Verizon G2 on Tmobile

I have an LG G2 VS980, with a Tmobile Sim Card. Can I use voice and data simultaneously? when I'm on calls, the network drops to G and I can't seem to use the internet.
EDIT: How do I delete posts/move it to the right device forum?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I can see since posting this you've asked the question in your device forum, that's the best place for your question so this thread is closed, thanks.
PS. In future if you need a thread moved, just report your post and ask for it to be moved in the report description.
