[Q] Just Bought New Z3. What CAN & CAN'T I Do? - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Two days ago I just bought this Z3. Somethings I would ask:
1. If I root my Z3, have dual recovery, can I get & instal lollipop without flashtool? I would like to get lollipop via OTA or Sony Bridge.
2. Will I loose my root if I upgrade from KK (rooted) to lollipop (via OTA or Sony Bridge)?
3. Now I'm still on KK, not rooted, locked bootloader, only update app on playstore, is there a way/tool so I can make my own FTF in this KK version? Since I cant found FTF Indonesia region (there only AU, IN, SG).. So I can help other user in Indonesia..
Sorry for my english & too much asking.. I'm new in xperia things, coming from htc m7..
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Two questions related to Xperia Play ROM's.

Hello guys !
I wanted to ask if it is possible to lock back the bootloader after I unlocked with the official SE method and if it will work the official updates from SE in the future ?
And the other question, when ICS will appear officially for Xperia Play, and I have my bootloader unlocked, how could I have the newest version of Android on my phone ? Do I need to root the phone in order to have it, or it is enough to have the bootloader unlocked.
Regards.
No it is not possible to relock your bootloader. Update: Sony decide to dump ICS all together.

[Completed] Need help Flashing and rooting xperia tablet z.

Hi i have read through all the guides by king vortex and followed them word for word without success. i have had my tablet rooted before but i kept on getting a request to update my software which was getting tiresome so i did. this removed my root when i did this (very annoying as had my tablet set up perfectly for what i wanted). when i tried to root it again however i for i couldnt do it with the build i had currently installed (10.5.A.0.292) so the guid asked me to use the flashtool to return it to 10.5.A.0.230 which is fine as I have some experience with flashing already. the only issue i'm finding is whenever i do flash it with this software it is bricking the tablet and i have to use emma to repair it which just reinstalls the most up to date software which puts me back at square one. do you have any advice to help me with this???
my tablet model is
xperia tablet Z LTE
SGP321
build number 10.5.A.0.230

[Completed] Request advice

Someone please help me, i can't update my SuperSU to remove root from my phone (Sony Xperia Z Ultra with android version 4.4.4). I want to upgrade my phone to Lolipop via sony official website but i can't update coz i've rooted before that ofricial update release. I've used king user to root. Please advise me .. with repest to all
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I've found this with someone with the same problem and a solution, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/help/failing-ota-update-unroot-108-t2801833. Since Android 5.x you have to be 100% stock system, recovery, and kernel for the OTA to work.

[Q] Sony Xperia J root help

For a class project I decided to load a custom ROM on my Sony Xperia J ST26a. I have bought it from Bell and the way my contract and phone is set up when I enter *#*#7378423#*#* --> Service Info --> Configuration --> Rooting Status : bootloader unlock allowed: No
Is there an easy way around this?
I'm not doing a kernel just a simple stock ROM like XperiaPremiuM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/development/cm10-ultimate-xperia-premium-v3-xperia-t2159103)
I am running on 11.2A.0.33 firmware and android version 4.1.2
Everything I have previously looked at and tried hasn't worked such as the DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582 (I do realize this has more than likely been patched)
Please help and fast. Project is due in 2 weeks
(Sorry abut my n00bness is this looks bad or isn't visually appealing)
If you asking how to root, last time i rooted J it was with Flashtool, but don't remember which one of root methods i use.
Good Luck.

need rom advice

Just bought a z3 but need some advice.
I bought the phone and it was originally on vodaphone but was unlocked via one of those phone repair shops. (im not on vodaphone)
Now here comes what the issue is. I dont like the stock voda apps and the fact they control upedates its still on 5.0.2 build: 23.1.a.1.28 for reference.
Now what is the generic uk ftf file I need to flash?
Will I lose drm keys if I flash a new ftf?
will the phone return to vodaphone only? (I am sure it Shouldn't but maybe someone knows otherwise?)
Also should i go to 5 than 5.1 or straight to 5.1 ftf?
Thanks for any help been awhile since I have installed any custom roms ir even rooted a phone really. Been running the xperia z stock for 6 months
Dw took the dive and went off what I used to know with some educated guessing and all is good
