Is there a good firewall app for Android, that lets you blacklist / whitelist applications (just like Droidwall), but that also works on VPN connections?
Unfortunately, Droidwall won't work on VPN.

Hi, I have some issue when download apps from the market, but when I'm connected to VPN, I can donwload them successfully.
What I'd like to know is is there an app that allow me to control which app(in my situation the Market app) can use VPN while others connect to network directly.
Hi,
Is there anyway to set the VPN for specific apps. VPN works great, but I only want to use it for mail or a specific browser so that I can get my work email through the VPN and use the phone as normal for everything else.
Cheers
Hi friends i am trying to search a firewall app which cam limit specific internet connections in specific apps, but not found it yet.
For example i wanna limit my browser to acces every google connections by ip or hostnames as following.
*.Google.Com
Or
8.8.4.4
So does anyone know a firewall like that?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda premium
android firewall can make it as you wish
Not sure if it has the exact feature you desire, but the Avast mobile security firewall seems rather comprehensive.
I have installed and tried several VPN apps from the Google Play Store using Market Helper, but they all seem to provide either free access to their own VPN servers, or they are subscription based.
I would like to input my existing VPN server settings to the SATV, but since there is no way to access the regular Android VPN settings AFAIK on the SATV, I am looking for an app that will provide the same options.
Do any of you know an suitable app?
Bump.
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy Go5 running Android 6.0.1 to be able to install the AFWall+ firewall app last year. But I've just started using the Gmail app as an email client, and have run into a problem. While Gmail would send and receive text messages successfully, it refused to send email with an attached photo.
I finally had success by updating the app and freeing up 1 GB in the phone's tiny 8 GB memory. But it only works with the AFWall+ firewall disabled. I've whitelisted all three options for Gmail, LAN, wifi and file transfers, but Gmail still refuses to send any attachment when enabled.
Would anyone know which Google related apps or basic system apps I might try enabling in the firewall to troubleshoot that may be causing this? Gmail is the only app I've whitelisted out of over a dozen in the firewall that I've experienced any problems with.
Kind thanks for any feedback on this.
