Hello. A question here. i have VERIZON sim-unlocked phone. I live in ukraine. So can i get s-off and install on it WWE firmware (or get a WWE x.xx.401.xx RUU) - thus convert it to WWE version to use all available roms and get OTA updates for xx.xx.401.xx version? And still catch the signal/3G and so on? Or it will cause problems and i need to stick to Verizon firmware and roms?

I'm pretty sure it's being discussed here although I don't think there's much confirmation on the matter. If Ukraine doesn't use cdma bands then from what I've read before there's likely to be some problems with voice, messages, and/or data.

My apologies if this has already been covered in another thread, I did some searching and had no results.
Has anyone in North America tried installing one of the official European HTC Diamond2 rom upgrades? I am wondering if I can just install the UK version. I have an unlocked phone (my service provider does not sell any HTC products).
Thanks in advance.

You would have to CID unlock and Hardspl your phone, and then you can run any Topaz rom you want, including official roms meant for phones from other carriers.

I couldn't care less to be honest. Every custom rom i've tried ran like a poo, this one on the other hand is flweless. Fast, stable and everything works. Rogers will roll out an official 2.1 in a few months and that's when i will upgrade my rom.
Yeah but until then, I have a magic that won't be used because I need USB Tethering so I can do my work mobile. Still need root though to do A2SD. Oh lets not forget the other multitude of things we can't do without root. Maybe when it comes out with 2.1, it'll be rootable by default like the Nexus One. They should really give back to the OpenSource community. OpenSource is helping them sell.

I think they think it's OK that people who knows what they're doing to have rooted phones. People who knows what they are doing also know how to flash an update without getting perfect SPL. This is just a guess, but I think that if enough people who wants root is getting stuck on this SPL, they will release a way to root (just like they did with 1.76.0007).
ok. so excuse me for being stupid, but there is no way to flash a 1.76.2007?or a 1.33... if there's a 1.76.0009?

Unfortunetaly you are correct in your statement. If you have done the latest Rogers update, that would force you to have the 1.76.0009 SPL, then at this point, you cannot change to any other SPL.
Rogers is actually 1.76.0010 SPL/HBOOT
ROM 3.05.401.3 Europe: 1.76.0009
ROM 3.05.720.3 Asia India: 1.76.0009
ROM 3.05.631.7 Rogers: 1.76.0010
In any case, I never had the 1.76.0009.
The problem with these ROMs is that you cannot downgrade the ROM to an older version. The SPL is checking for main version (first 3 digits of the HBOOT version)
Can someone confirm this? What happens when you try to goldcard the 1.76.0009 down to a lower version ROM?

I'll try this when I get my serial cable which I ordered. Will post results, maybe a howto thread.

Didn't work cause you'll need a sappimg with higher manver than the current on your phone.
There is a solution. You need a serial cable.

This method? As I said, I'll try that when i get the serial cable I ordered.
Edit: Also, will it work putting this, this and this cable together instead of making one?
Hi all.
I think I've fixed the perfected SPL 1.76.0009. I took the system.img from the Indian ROM 3.05.720.3 and put together a sappimg.zip (mirror - more mirrors coming soon) [MD5SUM: 20333385aab3f209dd708507f320c1ee].
Put this in a goldcard (see my blog for the procedure of making a goldcard - use google translate in the sidebar to translate from Greek) and go in HBOOT mode by holding volume down and momentarily pressing the power button. The HBOOT should peak the sappimg.zip. Follow the on screen instructions and at the end of the procedure you should have the non perfected SPL 1.76.2007 installed as well as radio 6.35.10.18 and Amon_Ra's modified recovery for radio 6.35.xx.xx. From then on you can install whatever ROM you like (it must be for radio 6.35.xx) or downgrade your radio to 3.22.xx.xx and use the ROMs built for this radio.
Dear forum members,
Due to the status of current development, i hope good news for all, the thread will be re-designed.

So my Operator is Austrian - A1.
As there apparently is no branded Rom yet - is it possible to flash any unbranded - if I do not care going back to the official?
If so - which one should I take, and are there any differences (f.e. will I get the February Update sooner - as my operator is apparently still holding it back)?
Sorry if my questions might sound stupid, but this is my first HTC device, so I don't know much about htc ROMs
EDIT: Sorry just saw that there is another Thread with unbranded Roms. But just to be sure - which one should I take, and what is the difference between the Radio Unbranded ROMs and the Unbranded ROMs.

Hi,
Radio branded or unbranded ROMs will flash only the radio of the device.
Branded or unbranded ROMs will flash all parts i.e. bootloader, radio, xip(s), oem , sys etc.
If you try to flash a ROM or a radio ROM it will be flashed ok or it will return an Invalid Vender ID Error.
When you have an Invalid Vender ID Error it means that the ROM is not for your operator.

Hi,
A Radio ROM for the New Vodafone DE operator added, see post#1.

sorry,
wrong post for this forum.
Hi,
I have bought an HTC Mozart in may and I am now getting more and more excited about the Mango update. I am wondering, though, If I have to wait for my Carrier to release the update.
My Carrier is t-mobile germany, but I unbranded my phone. Do I still have to rely on the gratitude for t-mobile?
If you have an unbranded phone, you won't have to wait for carrier approval.
cant u flash the htc shipped mango roms ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254384
I do not want to flash. I am getting tired of re-installing all my apps and games, that's why I am waiting for the official update.
oh i understand...

I flashed an unbranded 7004 ROM from this forum. I do not think my phone was simlocked, though.
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum but I have 1 question that I can't find on the internet.
I want to root my HTC sensation but when I want to get back the warranty I need a RUU, my phone is vodafone NL branded but there is no RUU for vodafone NL. Can I just use a UK or GER one to get back my warranty? Please help me..
would like to know this as well.....
I have a vodafone branded version.. and I do have a backup when I just rooted it, but I do not have a official RUU so I could return for warranty, right?
Yeh, i'm also looking for this one. Anyone?
Don't worry guys, here is the link...
This is the Vodafone_DE_1.27.162.1 version, which is not the latest RUU, but this one is the one which comes with the Vodafone_NL branded phones!
Thanks BioTeck, for your solution. I'm new to this and I was wondering if the radio version matters. Mine is different from your RUU in the link. Does it matter?
You can flash the 1.45 uk as well..
To be honest. Its better then the DE one.
Vodafone doesnt even look at the firmware btw.. issues mean factory reset by them
Sent from my HTC Sensation using XDA App
Ok thanks, but I have a radio version of 10.56.9035.00u_10.14.9035.01_m and this one is no where to be found as a vodafone version. Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the 'stock radio version' the best one?
Yeah, my radio is the same, but the DE has another radio does this matter?
