Do you have any ideas to deal with Perfected SPL 1.76.0009? I got stuck with this ROM when upgrading to the latest official ROM.

No one has been able to break it yet.

it was caused by flashing the latest RUU..

I couldn't care less to be honest. Every custom rom i've tried ran like a poo, this one on the other hand is flweless. Fast, stable and everything works. Rogers will roll out an official 2.1 in a few months and that's when i will upgrade my rom.
Yeah but until then, I have a magic that won't be used because I need USB Tethering so I can do my work mobile. Still need root though to do A2SD. Oh lets not forget the other multitude of things we can't do without root. Maybe when it comes out with 2.1, it'll be rootable by default like the Nexus One. They should really give back to the OpenSource community. OpenSource is helping them sell.

I think they think it's OK that people who knows what they're doing to have rooted phones. People who knows what they are doing also know how to flash an update without getting perfect SPL. This is just a guess, but I think that if enough people who wants root is getting stuck on this SPL, they will release a way to root (just like they did with 1.76.0007).

Unfortunetaly you are correct in your statement. If you have done the latest Rogers update, that would force you to have the 1.76.0009 SPL, then at this point, you cannot change to any other SPL.
Rogers is actually 1.76.0010 SPL/HBOOT
ROM 3.05.401.3 Europe: 1.76.0009
ROM 3.05.720.3 Asia India: 1.76.0009
ROM 3.05.631.7 Rogers: 1.76.0010
In any case, I never had the 1.76.0009.
The problem with these ROMs is that you cannot downgrade the ROM to an older version. The SPL is checking for main version (first 3 digits of the HBOOT version)

i tried the goldcard method on a friends magic which he recently purchased and was already updated
it didnt work. maybe i didnt do it properly?.. the devs here are geniuses, theyll figure it out i hope.

Didn't work cause you'll need a sappimg with higher manver than the current on your phone.
There is a solution. You need a serial cable.

Hi all.
I think I've fixed the perfected SPL 1.76.0009. I took the system.img from the Indian ROM 3.05.720.3 and put together a sappimg.zip (mirror - more mirrors coming soon) [MD5SUM: 20333385aab3f209dd708507f320c1ee].
Put this in a goldcard (see my blog for the procedure of making a goldcard - use google translate in the sidebar to translate from Greek) and go in HBOOT mode by holding volume down and momentarily pressing the power button. The HBOOT should peak the sappimg.zip. Follow the on screen instructions and at the end of the procedure you should have the non perfected SPL 1.76.2007 installed as well as radio 6.35.10.18 and Amon_Ra's modified recovery for radio 6.35.xx.xx. From then on you can install whatever ROM you like (it must be for radio 6.35.xx) or downgrade your radio to 3.22.xx.xx and use the ROMs built for this radio.

This thread is a good idea. I don't want someone's hacked up 32b mod with a 32a upgrade. This rom is for 32A devices - why can't someone just root it and package it as an update.zip? Surely that'd be more productive...

We need a no-nonsense 32A ONLY ROM for our phones. I tried eugene's ROM earlier today, and it's pretty good, but it's a lot buggier than I'm sure the stock ROM would be.

Just wait a little while for redglasses to finish up his cooking for the myHero 2.0 so yo can keep root!
Its because the majority of people here have a mytouch or 32b.. if the majority was 32a you can bet someone would have the TW RUU file somehow tricked to work on all 32a.. right from the start they are just woried about cooking it to work on thier phones.. we just need to be patient i guess

There will be and hopefully soon enough. I know redglasses is working on his myHero 2.0 and i really appriciate that he take his time cooking this instead of putting something together way to fast like others around
Think that "the fastes rom" was missundestood. It's not about being the first to release a cooked rom

hotweiss has said he will be releasing the HoFo 3.0 ROM based on the dump this weekend. It's specifically for 32A.
could anyone who successfully flashed the official RUU post a nandroid backup?
I don't think it depend on the SPL only.
Because I have tried 009 and 010, neither of them can work.
So there must be something else.
Both radio and SPL version should be critical.
If there is a particular trend, I guess it is easier to troubleshoot.

I would... But i can't boot to amon-ra's recovery... Seems all known exploits are fixed in the 1.76.0007 spl
Also i started out with spl 1.33.0009 and the radio from 2.20, which i can't remember what was called....

I upgraded successfully my spl was 1.33.2010 eng and radio was 3.22... or something like this don't remember but my 32 a was from India so any person having bought theit 32 a's from india can tell u the radio

I find the way to update
Firstly it's nothing about spl and radio I think. I use a goldcard to put it inside a magic with the official RUU to pass the CID check and step by step,it worked! I'm sure it will work on the other g2,you will be successeful! Sorry for my poor English..but it really worked on my g2 from indonesea and another from India.

No it isn't. Sense will not be officially released for 32B versions. The HTC Magic is generally called (Vodafone) in their productline and this is a mistake. If the product line was correct, there would be no such thing as a 32A.
Stick to the announcements and you would know this. This is also why S/N keys arnt working.

I bought my HTC Magic in Hong Kong on 08/2009. I tried a lot of the roms in this forum. The last of them was [ROM][32A][Nov07] MyHero 2.0.5 with Official SenceUI on HTC Kernel 2.6.27
Now I upgrade to this rom as the original one from Htc and I lost my rooting and can't install my languge fonds.
Can somebody help me fix it Please

I'm temped to flash my (BE) Proximus Vodaphone Magic (32A) with this ROM especially since I received an official reply from HTC that Vodafone branded Magics will never receive a Sense UI upgrade from HTC.
My question is if it is safe to use this ROM.

If you put your own serial number (find it under the battery) it will check to see if you have the phone model before letting you download
i've Magic vodefone from France and my SN don't work ... :/

By the way just flashed it using gold card method again. Went smooth. Radio/HW Boot are the same as in TW ROM.

I foolishly tried this on my 32b and now have a nice brick. Does anyone know how to recover it? I'm stuck on a RUU USB screen and it's showing a 32a radio.

How is this one different from the Taiwan ROM (languages, programs, etc.)?
Seems a little faster. Not much difference. The build number is higher so maybe it's got a few minor tweaks/bug fixes etc. I've flashed it no more than 30 mins ago. I'll report back if i'll find something new/different/improved.

Dude seriously are you dense or something? The ROM comes from HTC directly so how to you expect it to work on your Google branded phone? Besides SenseUI will not be officially released for Google branded devices aka 32B devices. It's common sense.

i upgrade this rom to my vodafone proximus belgium phone with this update
i was stuck on ruu mode after 45% update with error ' wrong customer id' 131 something like that.
i try all my best but i could not go to even fastboot mode. only fastboot command was working but i couldn't get ride off ruu mode. then i keep updating this rom again and again and boooooooom.
jackpot of the day. it went smoothly and here i am running latest version on my magic.
still i have to explore a bit and if u need feedback get back to u soon. onething i can tell already is that it is very very fast.

I have a Magic from TIM Brasil and I don't know why Entel is listed on the HTC brazilian page. It is a cel company from Chile, not Brazil.
When trying to downaload the update it says the update in not aplicable.
Anyway the ROM version seems to be older than the one that came with my Magic (mine is 3.03.527.3 and the update is 2.20.515.5)

Yeah, 3.03 seems to be the only version available for the Magics that received the SenseUI update. I guess the brazilian version doesn't have anything new in that regard

I think the Magic with Radio-6.35.08.29 is only sold by carrier Claro.
You can find the 6.35.08.29 radio here. It comes from a 32A HTC Magic RUU (RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.401.3_release_signed_NoDriver.exe) for Greece.

You can just upgrade the radio without loosing anything and it works just fine.

cmon guys, just read what he wrote.
Today there was an update release for HTC Magic in Greece with Sense UI and this radio.
I personally just flashed the radio and it is working great with cursordroids' ROM.

The reason I'm asking is because I can't find any official downloads. There's nothing in this thread about HTC releasing Sense in Greek..
Yes, and the question is, can we use this on any Hero from Europe (the whole RUU not just the radio), just like an official update.

This update seem to be for "Sapphire" aka HTC Magic, not Hero.
You could try running this RUU but I guess it won't work without a goldcard in your phone.
Anyways, if the official Sense update is just around the corner I rather wait until it reaches my country.

I meant to say Magic, sorry for the mistake.
And in the file name it does say Europe, so this is good news

Hmm, my 32A seems to be Greek, but I can't find any official update on HTC website... am I looking in the wrong place?

It might be a new spl
But it not an engineering bootloader so alle security will be on, it might be better to wait to see if 1.76.0009 shows up in a engineering version.
If I'm looking to buy a rogers 32A that has been upgraded to the 3.05 official sense, does that mean I can't root?
is 1.76.0010 the spl that the rogers update applies or is it 0009? and which of the 1.76 series spl's are actually rootable?

009 OR 010, It doesn't matter
U can run that roger ruu to see the version. I think .010. So far 009 and 010 are perfected spl if it is S-On. But 009 is hackable if it S-Off.

In my experience the firmware isn't as bad as people make it to be.
The ROM is 3.05.631.7
You can cross flash to any other 3.05 ROM as long as you have a goldcard. Everyone on 3.05 is waiting for a newer or equal version that has a fastbootable SPL.
