Hi all,
I've noticed a lot of threads regarding poor ram management for the s6 and s6 edge. So I did some tests of my own and I've come to realise if I leave the phone on for days without shutting down, that's when the problem arises. But if I shut down the phone regularly (once in 2 days) the phone seems to run nice and smooth.
So I'd like to ask if u all shut down regularly and still face the ram management issues ?

Hi all,
I am running the latest Diamond build of XD Android (2.0.1) and have it installed to an android folder on my SD card.
The issue I am having is that when I hold the End Call button to power it off, it begins shutting the phone off but never actually completes this task....I need to remove the battery in order to shut it down.
Anybody have any thoughts on how to fix this...or is this expected behavior for running Android?
My phone is a Fuze.
Ya it's a known issue.
this has been addressed to the community that this is a well known issue and is being fixed at this moment, if i can recall i believe the Raph100 which is the European TouchPro would actually shutdown but it doesnt work with the Raph110 which is the FUZE...
ok, thanks all
follow up question then in regards to my android installation.....the battery drains itself in several hours
i have turned off wifi and data...and try to keep running apps to a minimum
is this another issue with the android port? or any idea if there's anything i can do to improve the battery life?
when i am in winmo i use NATF's ROM and can get 2-4 days of battery life out of my device (without using it too heavily)
android has not been fulled ported yet. it is currently an incomplete build and thus you will experience horrible battery life. at best, you should expect to see about 6 hours battery life. theres nothing you can do about it at the moment. just wait patiently for the devs to work their magic.
I think you should probably expect horrible battery life as long as you're running your OS off of an sd card instead of out of ROM memory.
After loving my Sprint Note Edge for most of its life, it's started having all sorts of issues lately. Performance is sluggish (RAM seems to always be near max, even when nothing is running), phone is hot to the touch, and my battery life is brutal. I'm generally hovering around 25% before lunch with normal use. Also getting an error message from time to time saying the SIM card can't be detected. Running stock KitKat (4.4.4).
Stripped all extraneous apps off of my phone, still no help. Anyone have any wisdom?
TIA
Hello community, i just bought the S6 about 5 days, i have all the warranty and stuff like that and this thread is simple...
Im personally a fan of Samsung and i had the S4, and i have never had overheating problems like now.
The S6 Boots with 35°C of temperature. 35°C Its okay, i know, but its not normal for a first boot, right?
Then for the next hours, the cellphone gets real hot (about 45°C), and its annoying because, i mean, i just spend a lot of money and i'm receiving this.
So i had read all the blogs about Factory Reseting and Safe Mode thing and sincerely i had done the reset 2 times and im still getting the heating problem and it's not about playing games for a long time or using the mobile network, etc... Its about a random heat problem that if i charge the S6 it gets hot or if i use the camera it gets hot, if i open the browser it gets hot, hot, hot, hot... So, what should i do now? Any suggestions? Sorry if i repeat this thread, i know that there are people like me out there. Thanks anyways!
Thread moved to proper forum
Fixed!
For all the ppl out there, i rooted the S6 and downloaded DU Battery Saver + CPU Tuner and now my cellphone doesnt overheat + the battery usage is better! You should try it, share this info!!
I have a Galaxy s7 and I have been using it for quite some time now , I was getting a pretty good battery timings but one day I accidentally slept on my phone and when I woke up I felt that the phone was pretty hot (I didn't bother) and I slept again.
But after that incident the "android system" started taking all of my juice like 60-65% consumption or even 95% (sometimes) which used to make my phone get really hot! (Around 1000+ mAh) I was getting hardly 2 - 2.30 SOT
I was very frustrated so I changed the battery but the issue still persists ,the consumption is a bit better like 40-45% but the issue still persists ! My phone is not rooted and I don't use many apps either. I am not very technically sound but I need help! I couldn't think of a better platform. I would be very grateful
Hello All,
I've managed to acquire a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. This phone was a steal due to its price/ condition. The phone currently is running Android 6.0.1 (Samsung Stock)(SM-N910F). I intend to use this phone, not as my daily driver, but as my "media player". The screen is plenty big enough and the device is more than capable. In order to make sure it performs this duty well, I've begun a crusade of trying to "better" its battery life. I'll making a fairly lengthy plane journey soon so I figured I'll use this as an experiment to learn. The device really is for media consumption so I don't really desire any tasking software. I'm happy to underclock/ volt providing it doesn't compromise performance and yields results. As already mentioned, I'm running stock software but I'm happy to look into ROMs which are fairly "light". I used to own a Note 3 with a 10'000mah Zerolemon battery. This thing was a beast when it came to running for time. I frequently went 4 - 7 days without charging, it's since left for greener pastures. I intend to purchase the Note 4 variant for this phone, but till then, I still want to better the battery life.
Owing to the excellent Devs on this site, I rooted it in a matter of minutes and installed apps such as Wakelock Detector and Titanium Backup. and also the donation variant of Greenify. I've noticed a improvement after I Greenified most apps and when I froze some others.
Wakelock Detector is showing is showing Android System to be the biggest offender in regards to CPU wakelocks, with "ConnectivityService", *Alarm* and "SmartManager Frame Thread" causing the biggest wakelocks in terms of duration spent awake. I'm led to believe this is potentially a WiFi issue. Their is no SIM in this phone and I use it in airplane mode. It's currently locked to a network (Although not of my preference). I have to use WiFi for connectivity and I think this is what is causing these wakelocks.
Under Kernel Wakelocks, ssp_sensorhub_wake_lock is another serious offender.
So.....
Will flashing another ROM be worth it ?
Is their a root way of unlocking the phone to a network. P.S The phone is network LOCKED, not BLOCKED.
Will flashing another ROM free up space ?
Apologies for the extensive post but I figured I'll get this out their as this info is better out than in !
Thanks,
