My OnePlus is currently experiencing the microphone issue that a lot of people were experiencing early on (Low microphone volume from the OnePlus during a call). I have no idea what triggered it, it's been working fine for about 7 months that I've had it
The issue appeared in Oxygen. I've since switched to CM12 in hopes that would fix the issue. It hasn't.
I've edited the build.prop files AND the audio_platform xml files that were listed in this thread. I haven't updated the mixer paths, I don't know how to do that/haven't received links to flash
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/fixed-for-good-microphone-issue.222059/
I've downloaded and flashed this "fix"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/fix-low-mic-call-t3055661
Nothing has fixed this issue, and having a phone that basically only works properly in speakerphone is pretty much useless. I live in Mexico, and my OnePlus is a Chinese version, so I have no warranty. This is software though, there has to be a fix.
I'm going to rollback to stock CM11S and see if the issue persists on the ROM that the phone came with
If anyone has any help/insights, that would be really appreciated. Thanks a bunch

Calls drop often. Usually within the first minute, and then every time when Im calling back after 10sec. The phone itself does not lose signal. Strange thing is, if I'm getting phone call after first/second drop, phone continues connection without problems... But Only when Im receiving a phone call not when Im trying to re-call someone.
- I tried replacing my sim and the issue persists. No problems with other phones using this Sim (even in the same locations).
These are pretty annoying issues. Anybody else experiencing them? Is there a different radio I can try for the phone? Is there any log I can access showing a reason for the call drop, or any trouble shooting I can do? This seems to be independent of WCDMA Only/Preferred/GSM/WCDMA (Auto) settings. Or if, how to change these settings?
Note: This has nothing to do with the network. I've been with the same company (Orange Europe) for about 2.5 years, and have never had this happen before. This has been consistent since I got my OnePlus (about 1 week ago)
That's true. I'm experiencing this as well for quite some time now. At first I joked and said: Hey, the NSA joined our conversation.....again. But after some time it really annoys me. This has nothing to do with the ROM or kernel as I have tried out various combinations. What I found out is that it got better after I returned to stock CM 11s with stock kernel. But it's not gone completly.
Honestly I neither know how to fix it nor what is causing the problem. Try to reflash the CM11S 25R firmware and see if it gets better. I think something is wrong with the modem software since CM11S 22R,25R and CM11 builds are using the same modem software. Maybe the announced update for the end of this month or early next month will fix this. I really hope so because a phone which is not able to hold a call, can't be considered as a real phone.
Oh im pitty You, If You'll get something just please let me know. Any advices or help will be appreciated. Maybe waiting for new CM relase will solve the problem, I do rly like this OS even with so many bugs... there is always an option. Move to stock 4.4 published by OP on official website.
Anyone else facing the same issue? Was there ever a fix for this issue? I'm on 38R and still encountering this issue
Same here.
See this thread for answers and work around. No solution as of yet.

So, I ran into this problem today.
I have an all stock OPO and this just happened today or yesterday.
Does anyone know a fix to this, or do I really have to contact OP about it?
I've had a lot of issues with previous phones, so my will to live with these issues are dropping hard.
Hopefully someone can help me.
So after a few weeks of using Digital highs GPE Lollipop build I ended up having this issue where my bottom speaker will just stop functioning entirely and I'd have to reboot to fix it, I decided this was a software issue and not a hardware issue so I flashed a new ROM, Liquid smooth. Now my issue is less annoying but still unbearably frustrating, instead of a reboot required, when I listen to music or higher pitched songs it will just give out again but I can fix it by killing my music app and restarting it. I believe this has to do with lollipop and isn't related to my phones speakers being broken but what do you guys think? I'm frustrated as hell about this.

just a thought have you tried reverting to a 4.4.4 rom to see if it fixes it? just to be sure it is not a hardware problem, i am curious how you came to the conclusion that it was not a hardware problem. if you think this because restarting the app or phone fixes it you may be mislead, could be the amp or some circuit is cutting out and then resetting have seen this in other types of amps. i could be completely off about this but it is something to consider.
if you were running 4.4.4 before and did not have the issue then that would be my suggestion. and if you find out that it is definitely software then you might want to try re installing the latest firmware again if you have not already tried this.

First off thanks for the reply, secondly, I haven't tried converting and it only started happening a month after Lollipop use so perhaps you're right and I was wrong to jump to the conclusion. However I only thought this because using a dif ROM the issue changed from reboot required to fix it to simply restarting the app im using. Leads me to believe it is ROM related. And I'll fix my MultiROM n boot up the old 4.4.2 rom i have n see if it works properly in a bit. Will report back when I'm done.

No problem, I understand how frustrating these things can be and i seen you had no replies thought I might share my thoughts.
You may be correct about it being The Rom, since after the change of rom changed what it took to reset it. Only thing that bothers me is why did it take a month before the problem surfaced, unless you added some other app that is somehow causing the problem.
Have you tried putting phone in safe mode and see if problem persists, if not it a app or something you have installed after that first month.
Whenever I call people on the loudspeaker, the person on the other end says I sound muffled or crackly. Anyone else have the same issue. Fastboot flashed stock rom and made no difference.
Yeah I've been having the same issue since the phone came out. Not sure if it can be fixed or not with a software update.
Glad it isn't just me
same here!
yea having the same issue
Try recording a video of yourself using the front facing camera, how does it sound?
Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
I have the same proplem. Any now if it is software or harsware issue.
also when i hit the on/off button for waking the phone up the front camera is going up and down.
I have the same issue, Microphone works fine in other apps
Same problem here, spoke with support and they unable to help. I've had this problem for a while now and considering getting rid of this phone if no fix very soon. Unfortunately this has put me off ever buying oneplus again.
Hi all,
Log feedback through the community app. This is the best way to speak to the developers and raise the issue.
I updated my TMobile one plus 8t to the November 26 ota 11.0.4.6.KB09CB There's a major issues right away with bluetooth connection lag studder, buffer a total mess .. even after a factory reset. I tested my one plus 7 and it does fine on my radio. I had tmobile test a store phone on the android 10 firmware with no lag to there in-store device on bluetooth .
Anyone know of this issue after updating.. is there a fix? Or an update that fixes this ? Major let down ,even tho one plus usually addresses issues ..
i've upgraded to an ota yesterday. build # is 11.0.5.7. you sure you're on the latest one?

It's a well documented bug in the latest update.
Hotfix 11.0.6.8 fixes all lag issues in the 11.0.6.7 update
The 11.0.6.7 update brings November patch, but also has a widespread lag issue

Well that's good to know .. what do we expect timewise for the fix ? This issues seems to be from the beginning of android 11 update .. First 11 firmware all the way too the Dec 29 ota... I tested an android 10 One plus 8t and the music connects and plays fine.. no lag no studder.
Anyone heard of a fix coming? Seeing as it's just bluetooth will they take there sweet time over that issue alone ? I was just about to return this 8t for exchange thinking it's possibly hardware related ...

I missed your link posted ... I read it, I'm gonna try the work arounds all three . Hopefully they just send a ota fix .I wasn't aware of any video playback lag just bluetooth from phone to a speaker or car radio. Thanks in advance.
Okay, just going to throw my 2 cents into here. I had a similar problem with my head unit in my car. The audio would play really fast no matter what media was playing. I would reboot and try re-pairing and nothing. I cleared the bt mem of my head unit and suddenly it was fixed. Furthermore, i wiped my phone and rooted it same issue resetting the bt on the head unit fixed it. This happened to me on a op8pro and 8t.

I'll give that a try can't hurt for sure .. ... Although when I try an iphone 11 and my op7 they work ok on the radio via bluetooth .. the op8t has this huge Connection time /quality/studder/lag issue regardless... And then there's the fact this has been related on xda as an issue with oxygen software Android 11 on op8t and not just my particular instance. Leads me to believe it's software
Much credit to Kevkid for your suggestion I did have 5 phones stored in bluetooth menu .. cleared the memory and the op8t bluetooth is spot on No lag
Thanks for that appreciate it alot.
I have found the issue needed to clean clear bt memory in radio credit to Kevkid for the suggestion. Also I added in the video playback from gallery fix suggestion. Both did the trick.
