Hello!
I have already posted in a German Forum, I hope its okay that I post here as well, maybe somebody can help me here.
My Samsung Note 10.1 N8000 is stucked in a boot-loop, the last thing I did was installing Apex launcher and some widgets.
I just got the note 10.1 recently and so far I did not install any custom Roms, I don't have root access, nothing.I can access download and recovery mode and already tried "wipe cache partition".
My problem: I use the tablet mainly for drawing with AutodeskSketchbookPro, and I got some really important illustrations I just made the day before on the tablet. I am desperately trying to get access to those files before trying a ''wipe data/factory reset'' , stored in in the internal storage. :crying::crying: I don't care if messages or settings are lost.
I already read a lot about Odin, CWM and root access - I was told that maybe flashing a custom Rom won't delete those files, but all the ROMs I found so far require a full wipe before flashing. Maybe I could flash the Stock Rom with Odin?
Or is there any other way to access the files?
I would really appreciate any advice!!!! :crying::crying:
I would do anything to get those files back! :crying:
Thank you all in advance!!
melbe
Data on internal sd should not be deleted after a factory reset.
You can try to flash any ROM via Odin, first.

Thank you so much!!!
I read that if I choose ''wipe data/factory reset" everything will be gone, except data on the external sd card.
But basically if I download the latest Stock Rom for 3 Hutchison for Austria it should be safe? Even though it might be a newer Version?
Unfortunately I wasn't able to check which firmware I originally had, but there are only 2 available for 3 Hutchison Austria (Its branded).
Thank you so much!
I done many wipes from recovery on my old Note 1, and never had any data from my internal sd card gone.
Yes, you're safe with it. Even if it's an older version, it doesn't matter.
Good luck.

Oh! So a wipe data/factory does not delete data on internal and external storage?
If I remember correctly, the data I'm looking for lies in a folder "Autodesk" in "sdstorage0" (or something like that), I will check that.
I know that there are different ways to reset the note 10.1. It would be perfect if the folder I'm looking is not lost with a wipe data/factory reset. :crying:
Thank you so much!!
I just got the information that on some new note and tabs (and on the note 10.1) the "wipe data/factory reset" does delete the data on the internal sd card
I will try to flash my original stock rom again!!
Thank you!!
Probably, you're right. They're many differences between the devices before the S3 (like the Note 1) and after it (like the N10.1).
I also think reflashing the rom is the best solution.

A friend of mine just did a wipe data/factory reset on his note 10.1 - the data from the internal sd-card ist definitely lost
I will try to flash now...
I just flashed my stock rom with Odin, I got it from SamMobil. Seems it worked, but after rebooting its now stuck at the Samsung logo.:crying:
Not good :/
I have another idea: flash via Odin a custom recovery (CWM) then use this to copy your files to external sd: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108
After this, make a full wipe, flash a rom, root, remove the triangle, unroot

Thank you!!! I might try that :crying::crying:
Factory reset on stock recovery WILL DELETE ALL DATA! Try to install custom recovery via Odin, then factory reset in that, then you wont lose data on sd cards. Also odin back to stock deletes data as well. The reason you're stuck on samsung logo is it needs a factory reset in stock recovery, meaning you lose everything. What happens when you plug the device into windows? Can you access anything that way?

Try a stock based custom rom just to see if you can boot long enough to access your files. Once you have them saved, then you can do anything. I believe darkman had a root injected stock rom in development. Try that.

No you don't have to wipe .
That is to prevent problems .
I will consider flashing a custom rom today, maybe I can boot long enough to access the files
Otherwise I will try the tool AltairBW suggested.
Many thanks to all of you!!! :crying:

Hi everybody,
I'm very happen, I did it!!!!! :victory::victory::victory: I was able to save my entire files!!!! I'm so happy!!! :victory::victory::laugh:
In case somebody might encounter the same problem - - here is a short tut on how I did it:
First of all, install CWM Recovery only - here's a good Thread by Darkman on how to do it (see Post #1 and especially #2): How to ROOT Galaxy Note 10.1 3G/Wifi! [N8000/N8013/N8010]
root access is _not_ necessary!
Unfortunately "Aroma Filemanager" seems not to be compatible with the note 10.1 (works only devices with ARM NEON support, and I wasn't able to navigate in an old non-neon Version (v1.80)). But it seems to be a great tool and might work on other devices, so I'll attach the link anyway:[CWM-APP][1.91] AROMA Filemanager + TERMINAL :: 130903 :: Open Source
Next step, install ADB! Thats it! I can recommend this minimal Version here: [TOOL]Minimal ADB and Fastboot [7-18-13] Its not necessary to download the whole Android SDK!
With ADB installed, open the command line tool, go to the ADB folder and start ADB with:
Code:
adb
Then connect the Tablet while in CWM Recovery Mode. You should check if the device is connected by typing the following:
Code:
adb devices
Now you should be able to access and copy all your files from the internal storage to your Computer with the "pull" command! For example:
Code:
adb pull /sdcard/ /saved_sdcard
That way, your entire sdcard folder is copied to a local folder called "saved_sdcard". Of course you can copy only certain folders, in my case I backed up only the Autodesk folder, like that:
Code:
adb pull /sdcard/Autodesk/ /saved_autodesk
Thats it!!! Many thanky to all of you, I'm sooooo happy!! :victory::victory::victory: :highfive: :highfive: :highfive:
Thanks to this forum, all the useful threads and tools provided here, I was able to do it!! :victory:
Thank you al so much!! :highfive:
I hope this helps anybody who encounters the same problem!!
After I saved my files I did a wipe data/factory reset in CVM, and the bootloop was gone as well
As the counter is +1 now I might consider to unroot it or flash a custom rom. But anyway the problem is solved!
Thanks again!!!!
:victory::victory::victory::victory:
i have that same problem but......
i have that same problem but i flash stock recovery & cwm recovery but i can not access to to recovery menu i press power+volume up but it still nothing blank screen and boot loop again any body can help me

Sounds like you might have installed twrp or some other custom recovery. You need the stock recovery to update. It's got a thread here somewhere..

No not to use flashtool use on totally stock just make sure you don't include simlock and .ta parts of the ftf. Has your phone been rooted before or is the bootloader unlocked? Usually the only thing stopping a update from verifying.

Don't erase anything before you make a backup. Flashtool works on locked and unlocked bl so Google Flashtool, download 9.18.6 version, install drivers and PC Companion (if you haven't already), download ftf with XperiFirm (last button on right in Flashtool). When proces end flash ftf to your phone.

You lose all files music etc. When you flash ftf it's good to wipe all data cache especially if you up/downgrading so your phone will be as new. First start may take little longer than usual.

So I've extracted the backup and put onto my SD and internal storage, but when I boot into recovery to restore it cannot see a backup and therefore I cannot restore. Anyone have any thoughts as to where I'm going wrong?

First of all rooting is not working fine because it is not permanent.
Secondly the notification issue is enough to make it NOT great. Combine that with lack of permanent root and I would say that it's actually sucky...
