[Q] XPERIA ZL C6502 Problem turning on - XDA Assist

HI Everyone,
This is my first thread. Recently came across xdadevelopers forum. I am using Sony Xperia ZL C6502 for about 2.5 years now. Few days ago, when I was using the camera app, it crashed and shut off unexpectedly. Then when i tried turning it on , it keeps switching off after the point where it says 'SONY XPERIA' (generally within 3-5 seconds). Firstly , I was able to switch it on properly while on the charging mode and work with it when battery is charged upto 70 % and more. But the problem got severe and now even when I charge it, it keep repeating this loop of switching on and switching off at ' SONY XPERIA' as mentioned above forcing me to open the battery switch from inside and switch it off or by pushing it into either flashmode or fastboot mode. Even this restarting process consumes alot of battery and battery level dips very fast without any heating or so. I only manage to switch it on properly sometimes by means of charging the battery upto the level and then switching on and using it while still charging ( this works one in the fifty times). I have tried flashing new lollipop version and even tried repairing thru PC companion. No Progress. Went to service centre , they said it is some boot supply issue and battery and boot supply needed to be replaced . I am doubtful as of now if I either use it solely on charger or battery or if i use it on both.. the problem is same.
Is it a battery issue or a corrupt bootloader or something not in my knowledge. I have tried this flashtool. Suggest me what should I do now . Final alternative will be to shed money to the service centre. PLEASE HELP

[Completed] Continuous Reboot

Hello,
My Xperia Mini started to reboot continuously and the only way to stop it is to remove battery. I think this have something common with battery, because after this happened battery charges very slow (about 5% per hour) but when I plug the charge cable it works fine.
I tryed to flash another rom and kernel but this doesn't helped.
Before that happened it was another issue, when I was turning on the phone battery sometimes was showing 100% (after restart it was fine).
I have unlocked bootloader and root.
When this reboots started I was staying under the sun, can it be caused by overheat? Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
Thanks.
Hi there,
If you ask in the Xperia Mini Q&A section here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-mini/help
you may find users who have had the problem and have solved it, or you may find people who are more familiar with the device and can suggest solutions:

After Sony's service and update to 5.1.1 my Z3 is showing 50% battery

I'm a XDA newbie and looking for help, explanation. I broke my screen on Z3 a month and more ago and send device to repair to official Sony service. Everything fine except that when I got device back and update it OTA to 5.1.1 - the battery is not charging anymore and is it showing 50% all the time. There are some exceptions that sometimes it shows real capacity.
I already had empty batteries but was able with tricks (such as holding power + volume down) to charge it to boot up cm 12.1 and even some older 4.4.4 roms (I did flash twrp, cyanogen recovery or cwm (from DooMLoRD) over fastboot and flashtool - which is working even with almost totally empty battery). All are showing 50% and not charging. I do not want to give it to Sony's service again and wait for phone one month again.
Any suggestions - how can I return my phone to it's full life again ? thanks !

I'm sorry mate, but they broke it and they should fix it. Before it turns to something else. A "REAL" problem. My suggestion - Send it back in. Cheers.

I definitely do not trust them No SW change possible ? I even tried original 4.4.4 from Sony and no luck.
Now - what's even funnier -> I can charge my phone only if I press volume up a few time - and does not matter if phone is on or off.
It goes like:
- if phone is connected to charger - charging stops and battery shows 50%
- If I press volume up - charging starts right away and shows "real" battery status
- If I'm lucky same status remains for a few minutes
Any clues would be more than welcome Thanks
Be careful. I had the exact same issue (only showing 50% battery - regardless of charging or discharging state), and when I did a forced reboot, the phone never restarted and I had to send it back to Sony. I'm still dealing with Sony on this. "Sudden death" is a known issue, and it appears the Z3 Compact works through it, whereas the Z3 becomes completely dead.
I was told it's a faulty motherboard / bad batch. They then sent me a phone with cracked glass and less memory than my model.

Xperia m2 battery glitch,Sudden death like

Hello everyone!
So i'm experiencing some weird glitches/bugs on my phones battery which makes it unusable,I believe this was caused by my corrupted sd card, but not sure
So:
-I can't use the device without the charger,if I disconnect it it will immediately shut down
-When I connect it to the charger it starts flashing red light just like the sudden death syndrome, but now it even flashes the Sony logo with itself like it tries to boot up but has not enough battery left, even when I leave it charge for hours it will still show the white battery icon. After some time it will act like its not charging,no flash, not trying to boot.
-Somehow i managed to turn it on by messing around with the Vol up+Power combo, successfuly charging starts at 0% goes up to about 12% and after it reaches it, the indicator shows no charge and 99% of capacity(And drains slowly, right now I'm using it and it is at 98%).But as I said I can't use it without charger so it died again when I disconnected charger .
I Believe a few M2 users (or even other xperia users even) having this problem too,I also did not root it,it is under warranty (I will take it to repair if we can't fix this).
Update:
The phone started charging after the 12-99% glitch,I left it to charge for about 1-2 hours and the led started glowing green and the indicator on the upper right corner showed 100%,I can finally use it without charger but it turns off by itself if I'm not using it for about 10 minutes.
Not heard of it before, I'd say if it's stock and still covered by the warranty. Get it looked at. Have you tried doing a software repair via Sony's PCC it may help of you haven't tried it and it's the first thing Sony will tell you try.
D2303,18.3.1.C.1.15 kk, deodexed, debloated, rooted, philz touch recovery, bravia engine 2+x-reality+z3 super vivid, viper audio, xposed mods.
Thanks I will try it and post it if I get results,I believe that some people having this problem, since its fully stock. My friend who works for a Samsung service says it might be an issue with that thing (forgot its name) that tells the processor the battery percentage,it might be telling it it is on 0%

phone dead, or is it? PLEASE HELP

i have an xperia z3 that has been working fine for five moths now on lollipop , however today i noticed that the battery indicator changed from 17 percent to 50 percent to 7 percent every couple of minutes, i looked up online and somewhere it said to let it discharge completely then recharge
in all stupidity i used m phone till it suddenly blacked out, i was like step 1: check
step 2 however wasnt working as when i plugged the charger it put up the charging battery screen with the red light, then it blacked out again and it just keeps on turning it self on and off from black screen to battery screen
id like to let it survive for a while till i can afford a new battery or something, can i do that? or is it hopeless.
i will let it charge for the night, however i need the phone in 3 days and cant afford a new battery WHAT DO I DO???????? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
if you do know the cause of the problem enlighten me , many thanks
Check your charger and charging cable. Might not be charging properly. And that may have damaged your battery and charging related circuitry on your main board.

update: this is one hell of an issue
it appears this is a very common issue among phones and xperia phones specifically ,NEVER let your phone discharge
i found that i can get to fastboot mode and flash mode , but thats it cant reboot normally
i changed cables and chargers and even switched to magnetic charger, charged other devices using my charger to make sure, forced shut down using power+volume up and using the killswitch
but its all in vain and the problem is just the same, many people who had this problem got it fixed by forcing shut down and changing chargers but i let it for hours and hours to charge
i also updated from lollipop 5.0 to 5.1 via flashtools since i got to flash mode, i erased user data and everything and it installed perfectly
but still when i disconnected and pressed power button it showed the low battery icon and it still wont charge
is there anyway to chrge it from fastboot or flashmode and boot it from there cuz they work

I have no idea on that. I'm still New to this phone but yes, never let your phone fully drain. It's the characteristics of lithium ion battery.

Software & Charging Problem

Hi, I have a z3 d6653 my phone was constantly rebooting even though I know its a software thing as it has happened before and by flashing stock lp again it got fixed this time I ignored it and by letting the phone off as it's not my daily driver I wanted to see if itll settle by itself. It did settle and I used the phone till 4% but when i took it back it was off Im sure bc of it starting to reboot again so I wanted to charge it then fix it but after 1% charging it was constantly rebooting in charging mode so with that 1% I thought of booting into recovery and wiping only caches but during the operation it went off and now even though the led is showing like it's charging, it isn't actually so I decided to ask here if any of you can help me i.e know any way how to charge the battery..
Update: I have the back of the phone opened so I thought of unplugging the battery and plug it again but now it's worse not even the red led of charging doesn't turn on, I tried a few fixes but none is working..
Update 2: Like I mentioned I tried many fixes for soft/hard brick and many many others but non worked or at least I had no result but today I thought of charging the battery of my z3 in xperia e4g and after I did so the phone started normally and now its working perfectly, so happy I got it back ^_^
