3Mint
3Minit? Is there any way to remove this? I'm not a big fan of the mod

If you would like. I could remove it and send you a link to download it?
You would still have to flash again to remove it.
Ill do another right now without any tweaks

I would love that as a matter of fact, loving the ROM btw, so much smoother and the battery is magnificent. Also can definitely see the improved camera quality and honestly, one of the best TouchWiz based roms I've flashed on any Samsung. Also I wouldnt mind testing out your attempts to get the Alliance framework into this. Definitely preferred over the 3Minit mod. Another issue is when I choose to edit the java code to mess with the clock the settings force close and i cant get back into it without a fresh flash so beware

Does this trip the KNOX fuse?

I am not really sure. But is working for me so far. It does not have knox so i do not think so.
I am going to try to work on one that is smoother and more stable. Ill try to make it a lag free phone. Thanks for anyone who supports me..
The hotspot does not work on this one for now. I will work on it

The fact that there is no response to say if this is the same as Sac's worries me. And on that I will be switching to Sac's rom and just flashing the kernel separately.

How?
how do u flash this rom on the s6 edge i have twrp recovery

dsixda's Android Kitchen - Now for Samsung Galaxy SIII SCH-I535
Compatible with Windows (Cygwin) / Linux / Mac OS X
The following is a guide to assist you with creating your own Samsung Galaxy SIII SCH-I535 (Verizon) custom ROMs with the kitchen. This is NOT a guide to help you become Cyanogen or do fancy things with AOSP, but it may be your springboard to bigger things in the future.
Some of you already know about the Android Kitchen. It is a project I started on back in February 2010 to help newbies create their own custom ROMs and learn more about Android. As of the latest versions, you can now create your own Galaxy S3 I535 ROMs with the kitchen.
NOTE: This guide should also work with other variants of the Verizon S3, such as the US Cellular SCH-R530.
Special thanks to XDA users alexcolodner and CovXX for testing and providing feedback!
I have already posted an equivalent thread for the T-Mobile SGH-T999 Galaxy SIII, so no need for redundancy. The same steps will work for your device:
CLICK HERE FOR KITCHEN INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR GALAXY SIII.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939420
Since the above link is for SGH-T999 discussion only, please post all SCH-I535 talk in the thread right here. Enjoy!

Thanks buddy, Been using your kitchen for a long time. Its been a pain to use on this device without support haha. Thanks for officially supporting us.
Thank You
Thank a lot brother!!!

I second this on the pain part, and is the main reason why i never tried my hand at roms on the GS3. Now I just may. Thanks again, this is awesome.

Re-Odex?
Just wondering if there might be plans to add re-odex or odex functionality? Just wondering cause the most recent JellyBean leaks seem to function alot better when they are odexed.
So a hypothetical would be:
Code:
get your rom of choice in the kitchen
root it and all that fun stuff
do some framework fun for lets say KindaCrap mods
re-odex
build
give self a big hug
Actually, now that I think of it, is it even possible to odex a rom when its not on a device?

If you want an odexed ROM then use the stock firmware. But don't de-odex it
I have answered this re-odexing question in the FAQ and in the kitchen and multiple times on xda. Not possible without some hacking, and not worth my time or health.
Thank you so much, you are the man!!

Sure I could put it in there.
It's because it's a TouchWiz 4.4 thread, not an AOSP 4.4 thread. I want to make sure people don't get confused. But it is the kitkat OTA.
@BadUsername thanks for this thread, I'm currently working on my girlfriend's Galaxy S3 she got so this list is helpful. I have one question, since this isn't my primary device, or rather my device at all...is Towelroot advised to gain root?

Yes, towelroot is simple, safe and very fast to gain root. It is simple as just like you install an app from play store.

Hi, I have a question about my locked bootloader and baseband and what not that I can't find any answers to.
If my Verizon GS3 (SCH I535) is running a 4.3 TW rom on baseband I535VRUCML1, can I Odin back to stock, take the OTA, and then flash superliterom? (which is NE1)
Cause I know this locked bootloader is finicky about basebands. Will my baseband stay on ML1 or is there any way to change to NE1? Or any way at all for me to get 4.4 with as little touchwiz bloat as possible?

That's your only option to get kitkat, and yes that is the correct procedure.
Not sure why you'd want to do that though, you're making your phone more limited by taking the update, and you aren't gaining much in terms of functionality.

Well you take what you can get with this locked bootloader, and there are some apps that only work with 4.4 (google camera, for example), plus bug fixes and some new features /improvements. How's it becoming more limited? (genuinely interested if you have a drawback to flashing 4.4)
Oh and can I change basebands without bricking? You were a little ambiguous.
Thanks for the advice and this thread though :good:

You have a couple good points, but simply compare this thread to this thread, you'll see the difference.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50115986
Again if it's not a huge deal to you, then taking the update is fine. Some users report worse battery life on 4.4, but I have no way of verifying users experience. Just remember, once you take 4.4 your rom choice immediately diminishes.
For some reason I can't post links correctly, but check that thread and look at the 4.3 download list.
keyboard
I updated and rooted to 4.4.2 KK, and really like it (except for some battery drain) and the stock keyboard. I had an old Samsung keyboard zip file (Note 2 or Note 3?) and I flashed one of those to get the numeric row on top, and now my Samsung keyboard keeps force closing. I downloaded and installed the Google Keyboard, but wondered how I can get back to my stock keyboard, or even better, how to get the keyboard I was trying to install. TIA!

Is the PaulPizz ROM the only one missing from this list, or are their others that have popped up since this was last updated?

The following information is what I have gathered by comparing the ROM's available:
The 3 ROM's choices for locked bootloader NE1 are:
Stock = all Verizon/Samsung Bloat included
PaulPizz = mostly debloated with added torch, tether, ringtones, 5x6 Launcher, AOSP style icons
Superlite = completely debloated, with tether
Specifically, PaulPizz includes the following things which are not in Superlite:
S-Voice, allsharecast, mobile print, swype, secExchange, VPN, talkback, secEmail, samsung hub, photo table, localFOTA, gmail, gmsMaps, easysettings, kies, musicfx, myVerizon, galaxy4, SPG, voice recorder, torch, kies, musicFX, sCloud, and a few other things...

Best rom?

I know there's no correct answer. I'm new to Samsung as I've had Motorola for the past 5 years, Is the Note 3 unlockable? If so is the first link I posted still able to work for rooting the Note 3? Also what's the best rom as in sustainability and customization and battery life? I'd like to be able to customize as much as I can and be on 4.4.4 if possible. I'm also interested in something that doesn't have many problems or glitches. Thanks to anyone who helps.
For me . If u want stock look with mods and stuff there is crash rom ,if u want alot of customization , system ui and themes there is x-note but its thread closed for now

I've seemed to like Omega rom. The only question I seem to have now is what's up with flashing kernals? I've never had to flash kernals before and I'm a bit clueless on them.
Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.

Its an easy flash back to stock if you mess something up. Its also deodexed which makes it easier for devs to build roms off of i think.
Im personally downloading it to pull the stock build.prop and apns.conf file to mess around with other roms.
You probably wouldnt want to flash it to use as is unless you want fresh stock. But you know... Some peopke will use it so we should thank the dude ( @1Cwulf ) who made it.

Installing it is totally up to you.
Its deodexed so it's easier to work with as a base to make other roms and makes it a little easier to theme. Sometimes odexed apks are a pain to work with.
That said I plan on building of this and debloating and changing some stuff that's been bugging me on this phone.
Edit. It can also be used as a daily driver, this is what I'm using.

Do not attempt to take ota while using this...it will fail and you could possibly end up stuck in recovery.
I am currently running a slightly modded version I did based on latest ota without carrier IQ, ota and some bloat removed with 1 or 2 tweaks. Seem like there wasn't much interest for this so I never did post it. If people are interested I can upload it later today. Btw I did not invert anything in it.
PowerUser edition Rom?
Sorry 1 more question, whats the difference between ur rom and PowerUser Edition V1 - Modified International Stock ROM? They seem pretty much the same, any key differences?
Thanks in advance
Biggest difference is there is no bloat or setting changes done by At&t. It might have some tweaks/mods added but can't say for sure since I haven't ran it. With roms like these no real reason to use a Rom based on at&t I guess lol.
This is just a rooted base to use or make changes to if someone wanted.

Interesting ROM!
I have some questions:
I'm on a LPX13D based ROM.
Sooo, is it enough to do a dirty flash if I want to install your ROM over that?
And if I want to try the Nexus 6 apps, I should download the n6_app_privapp_dump.7z file?
Am I right?
And I see your ROM has the latest Franco kernel! It's amazing!!
Good luck for this ROM!
- You can easily do a dirty flash from your stock LPX13D, the script automatically performs a wipe cache and Dalvik.
- Many of the gapps have already been updated in material version on playstore , only a few will need to flash it from recovery or copy it to the system folder app. By tomorrow add convenient zip for Nexus 6 gapps not in playstore . The discussion is under construction I intend to do a good job and provide adequate support for alla users.

I'm going to create update.zip to update the rom when I make small changes to make sure that you do not have to download the whole ROM every time. Of course also put the full version ...
Now I'm going to sleep, I awake from yesterday, in Italy is 3:33 pm ..... almost 24 hours a day online for work-related reasons. Whatever you need we will reply when I wake up.

Sleep well
Well, I tested this ROM very hard today.
It is buttery smooth and full stable!
Battery life is perfect for me. My 4G signal is quite poor, so I was on wifi, was browsing with Chrome Beta about an hour, hardly played with Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 for 20-20 minutes, used Tapatalk and Google+. Sync is on, Google Now is on. I've got almost 2.5 hour SOT and I'm still at 48 percent!
Great work @daniel84cs!
Thanks I am very happy that you like it I will try to improve it even more, I can not wait to come out lollipop in the final version, then they start the games. Obviously I can not wait to come out the Nexus 6, but will develop for both, my work is just beginning, not released public release from the Note 2 time, but I never put the ROM on xda because I had a lot of time, but me the most important thing is to always be on your side and to share with you my passion.
Does root work in this?
The full ROM is not prerooted for my choice, being simply flash the ROM and Supersu.
I'd rather not create prerooted because some members had expressed the desire to have the franco kernel, NoADS without root. But I leave it to you to decide.
Do you want to be prerooted the next full rom.....???

Yeah.. Please make the ROM prerooted.
Let's see how many people prefer prerooted, answer with +1 or -1. Based on the membership will assess the prerooted version.
Do you think that restoring apps from titanium backup (i'm on purity 4.4.4) could lead to any stability issue?
No problem you can restore it.......use the latest tanium backup beta for L preview......search it on twitter..
