Hi. I have a rooted HTC One X international version with the quad core processor supposedly. 1.5ghz but when i checked quick system info it says my cpu clock is only running at 1.4ghz. I have set cpu installed and i have ensured that ive set the min and max to 1.5ghz but still it remains at 1.4ghz. I dont know if it was like this before i rooted my device or before i installed setcpu, or if this is just the way its supposed to be. Please advice.
If ever this is unusual, could someone tell me how to fix it? Should i reflash the kernel or bootloader?
Thanks in advance for ur help.
You might find what you're looking for in the One X forums.

Tegra 3 in only 1 core go to 1.5 if you use 2 or more cores, then go max 1.4. Thets to save battery and dont get overheat.

Hello everyone, I hope this question has not already been done ... definitely not for my device ... may sound silly but it is something that I wonder when I changed my galaxy Splus:
As can be exploited to overclock a processor?
I go there very cautious but having a sigle core only 1400 mhz to play games that require I use it up to 1800 MHz.
it actually hurts the processor and it reduces the life of the same?
Thanks to those who want to clarify this question ...

Hello guys,
I'm kinda confused here.
I'm asking about a CPU I seen some phones and tablets claim that they have it as a Quad Core processor but somehow in other places like in Antutu and other benchmark programs it'll say something else.
now in the Chinese phone Market you'll see a new line of Quad Core Devices, tablets or phones.
they say they have: Samsung Exynos 4412 CPU and as far as I know this is a Quad Core Processor.
but when u launch Antutu for example on some of these new Chinese Devices you'll see it says:
Exynos 4x12
and will show something like this:
CPU Hardware: SMDK4x12
CPU model: Dual-Core ARMv7 Processor (VFPv3, NEON)

and actually when I read: Exynos 4x12 so the "X" doesn't clear it for me is it: 4212 the dual core one or the 4412 the Quad core one.. u see what I mean?
this is really confusing.
try for yourself searching for Galaxy s3 Clones or knockoff - Galaxy Note 2 Clones or knockoff and u'll see similar things to what I'm asking about.
also the GPU shows in some of these phones claiming to have Quad Core Exynos 4412 that it's: powervr sgx531, while the Samsung Exynos Quad core will have GPU: Mali-T604
lol the whole thing is messed up there..
hope that someone would come and clear it out so we dont get scammed when buying these devices.
thanks
Most Galaxy S2 or S3 clones and knock-offs use an MTK chipset such as the 6575 or the 6577. These would normally be paired with a previous-gen GPU such as the PowerVR SGX 530 or 531.
It is quite easy to modify Android to display a string about the CPU, anything you want really.
A true Exynos CPU will ship with a Mali GPU. The 4x series shipped with the Mali-400, the Exynos 5 in the Chromebook and Nexus 10 ships with the Mali-604, as you stated.
In short, you won't find an Exynos device without a Mali GPU. If it lists anything else - you're probably being misled
thx juzz86 for your reply.
u know what is making this confusion in my opinion?
it's when u read the CPU saying this:
CPU Hardware: SMDK4x12

SMDK stands for: Samsung Mobile Developers Kit and the 4x12 most people will think it's the Quad Core Exynos 4412 cause in the advertisement of the device(s) the sellers claim it has Quad Core processor.
so I found out that: reading SMDK4x12 or even SMDK4412 doesn't mean that the processor itself is the Exynos 4412 Quad Core.
the funny thing is when I demand from some sellers to go online with me and to turn on the camera so I can see for myself whats going on, only then they get scared when they see me ask alot about the CPU and that I doubt it's the Quad Core.
I also have to confess that some of them (the sellers) honestly didn't know that they have a Dual Core Device and not a Quad Core.
so guys... watch out and pay extra attention to the new Claimed to be Samsung Exynos Quad Core 4412 Processor.
ask for proof and Guarantees, and good luck
thanks again juzz
Yes mate, always pays to ask a lot of questions before buying one of these. Unfortunately as you say, most sellers don't understand what they are selling, just that it is 'dual-SIM'.
There is a pretty good following behind at least two of the clones here in the 'General' and 'Android Hacking' forums. Doing a quick search should pull up some.root methods as well.
MTK are getting better, and now even have a quad-core CPU in the works. That'll be a compelling option for some knock-offs, for sure!
Happy buying mate!

I think I just got scammed. Bought one of ebay couple of days ago and realize its most likely a fake
Hello, I just rooted my S6 and installed the xtrestolite rom which comes with the unikernel. I installed the SetCPU app, but I have two problems:
1. The default speed was set at 1296. Does this mean that if I wouldn't have modified the speed, I wouldn't have profited of the CPU's whole power?
2. It only goes up to 1.5ghz, though it says that it has 4 2.1 ghz and 4 1.5ghz, but I don't see how I can clock the other 4 cores with SetCPU. How do I know that 2.1ghz is really being used?
Thank you!
+
Betterbatterystats doesnt show up any 2.1 ghz info
...
Meanwhile I found this program CPU Z that shows all of the 8 cores, but that still doesn't answer my first question. If I hadn't modified the CPU speed, it means I wouldn't have had the 1.5 ghz speed??
Hi there,
You'd be best served asking for help from the experts who own your device here:

Good luck
Ok thanks
Im just asking out of curiosity.
Ive had the exynos note 4 and now the s6 (edge).
Ive used numerous cpu spy apps and never i saw any app record the frequency of our device pass 1.5ghz.
So, is our device locked only at 1.5ghz max or just that all cpu spy apps cant detect pass 1.5ghz of the exynos octa core? Or maybe any other reasons?

The app. it only records the a53 cluster and not the a57.
