Really cool accessory for the S6 or for any device using Android Lollipop for that matter. It's the Smart Lock feature that allows you to set up a few different ways of locking/unlocking your phone. The first is Trusted Devices.. more on that in minute. The second is Trusted Places, the third is Trusted Voice and the last is On-body Detection.
Now I'm not going to go deeply into what each of these features do but the basic is that with Trusted Places, which I was using before would work on location services.. using GPS to determine your location and keeping the phone unlocked. Works great.. however there may be an incorrect GPS reading and thus lock your phone while you are at the place you thought it should keep it unlocked. As you can imagine the GPS polling will reduce your battery some.
Trusted Voice, I have not used and quite frankly not sure how well it would work if you had to whisper in the middle of the night.. but I guess in that situation it would be more useful to just enter the unlock code than speak.
On-body detection is neat. It works. It works so well that I forget once I sit my phone down that it detected no movement and thus I found myself unlocking it every time I picked it up from a charge. That's ok because that's exactly what its design for. Keep in mind this feature doesn't engage in lock mode if someone just so happens to snatch it from you as you are carrying it.. example like in a purse.
My favorite right now... Trusted Devices. Now this is a really cool feature. Trusted Device uses either NFC or Bluetooth as a means of keeping the phone locked until it detects a trusted device that you have registered with. In my case.. an NFC Ring. And let me tell you.. this thing works perfect! My phone is always locked and as soon as I tap my ring against the back of my phone it unlocks it immediately. The particular ring I purchased has two NFC receivers built in so you can set up an additional action item. If interested this is where I purchased it however you can get them on Ebay too. Since it's NFC and Bluetooth tech you can pretty much go with any device that's always on your position for your own convenience.
A couple of shots of the ring:

This is probably a good idea for a lot of phones, but why bother using it with the S6 when it has a fingerprint scanner?
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the screen has to be on for an NFC tag to work, right? So you have to wake it up, then tap it to unlock? Cool if you've rooted and can get your phone to recognize NFC tags even when the screen is off, but otherwise we're looking at an extra step compared to the fingerprint.
Well from what I've read the fingerprint scanner doesn't always register the scan well. I've also read that hackers can/have created exploits to lift your fingerprint details from phones. In this case an S5. Anyhow when your phone is charging and you disconnect it from the source (in my case a wireless charger) it wakes to the lock screen.. therefore I simply NFC tap. One step. If I pull it out of my pocket, then yes I would either press the home or power button then tap. This may not be cool for "everyone" but dang-it.. friggin cool to me.
I recently lost my replacement wedding ring (still have the original, I'm shrinking) this looks similar and would be put to great use!
I tried something similar with my last phone. It was very glitchy. The ring had to contact the phone at the perfect orientation. Sent it back.

Power Switch
Power Switch is a tool for devices with cases - somewhat like the SmartCover, it will turn off the screen when you shut the case. If you have a device with poor battery life, Power Switch can save tons of juice by switching it off entirely after a given amount of time asleep.
Features:
- Sleep seconds after shutting case
- Automatic shutdown
- Set up a schedule using Night Mode
- Configure sensor sensitivity
- Facedown to turn screen off
- Persistent notification
- Uses almost no power
The app has gone through an extensive testing process here at XDA under another name. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen, you're the best!
However, this testing showed that some features of that app were not all that useful, and some were conspicuously absent. To save both you and us a lot of grief, we made the second-generation Killswitch.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please use this thread. I daresay Im known as a kindly developer always open to suggestions.

By the way, would it be possible to add full scheduling like in Root Call Blocker?
I guess it would, but why? Surely the light level doesnt change with the day of the week...
I would like it to turn my tablet off entirely on some days for example, when im working night shift.
Is it difficult?
No, its not difficult. Ill look into it but cant promise when. I dont expect this would be a feature many people need im afraid.
Updated with some tweaks to the dead sleep feature and awesome new icons!
I wish I could buy this app. Can't live with the timers and settings of the trial version. Why can't google accept anything other than stupid credit cards?
You can always just make a virtual credit card! Its so easy a child could do it. Just look online for an operator in your area!

My girlfriend allowed me to use hers Now I'm a happy customer. And one of the first as well, it seems
EDIT: Is it possible to inrease upper limit of the auto-shutdown timer? My Nook Color sleeps very efficiently, so the current maximum of 6h does not help much. It would probably only be triggered over night, which would mean that I will almost certainly be using it again within ~3h after it shut down. (Using my tablet is usually the first and last thing I do in a day). Booting the device up again would probably use more battery than those 3h have saved.
Setting it to something between 12h and 2 days would most probably ensure that I do not or cannot use my device at the time anyway, so it's safe to shut down
Consider it done. The feature was mostly for low quality tablets with bad sleep regulation, but if you find it useful, why not?
This is a most awesome app!
Thanks! Please leave a review or suggestions at the market!
Guys, I'd really like to hear some suggestions on how to make this app better, more useful.
Guys... it would be really helpful.
In any case, an update is on its way. No real new features because noone seems to want any!
Power switch and Killswitch the same?
Is the killswitch app you made the same as power switch? I bought killswitch when it came out and was wondering what happened to the updates in that app.
No, Killswitch has been discontinued. Power Switch has some, but not all the same functionality. It also has new features.
Any news on that update? I'd really love to have that extended timeout.
I dunno about other features, though. I promise to let you know when I come up with something

I'd love to see something on it, i've been using it for a while and i believe it's pretty good for its cost. Especially the call and alarm vibration are the most important characteristics for me.

I think the band is major, save trying to see the display in direct sunlight. Definitely win for the money. The upgraded official app is much better than the initial one. Too bad my Note 1 doesn't have BLE, looks like it's time for an upgrade. . .

How do you use the call vibration? It is not working for me just if the Vidonn app is running... (I have Samsung S4)
I'd love to use it as a call or alarm notifier for calls, messages etc cause my phone is on silent 24/7...

I'm using a lot and appreciate the vibrate alarm and clock function, for these characteristics would be worth the expense. He is not very accurate for calculation activities, but I believe that no wristband pedometer that only use either (no GPS), since actions like brushing your teeth can be confused with an activity (walking or running). But with the function of analyzing a specific activity, it is more accurate at this point then is another good feature. To end it does not depend on a software as has a LED screen and is still easy charging, since he alone is already a usb.
what is the price
i would like to know the price of this bracelet, i search it on their website but i couldn't find the price
Hi guys! Here’s Co & Do’s APP Recommendation Channel!
We are all fans of Android and are thrilled about variety of productive, funny and easy-to-use apps, no doubt (this curiosity is our secret of making such a great app like AirDroid, to be honest).
Remember the classic scenes of Professor X reading the mind of others in X-Men? It’s pretty cool. But we know that’s not real. How about apps that can read your mind? That’d be much much cooler! Co & Do’s Channel this week is gonna recommend you such an app that will “read” your mind: Gravity Screen - On/Off by Plexnor.

Unlike other apps, you’ll be greeted by a row of settings instead of icons when you open this app:
Seemingly complicated? Nope! You’ll find this app quite simple when you continue.
How It Works:
Gravity Screen *On/Off determines whether to turn on or off your phone’s screen by using gravity sensor and proximity sensor of your phone. It is also based on screen orientation and motion detection.
To be more specific, the phone’s screen will be turned on automatically when it detects that you’re holding the phone. Any small movements of the phone will turn on the screen, too. If the phone has been placed onto a table downward or been put into the pocket, the screen will be turned off. See how the magic performs with the following video:
If you leave all settings of this app as default but find it doesn’t work properly on your phone, you may try increase/decrease the angles at which the screen will be turned on/off or modify the sensors’ sensitivity level. Customized settings usually perform better than default ones:
Generally, this app works well on my phone most of the time. But according to the developer, the accuracy of this app varies from one phone to another, which mainly depends on the preciseness and accuracy of your phone’s sensors. It is recommended to do some tests before you start using this app.
One thing that may bother you is the battery. Personally, I don’t experience serious battery drain issue with this app. One tip for saving battery: place your phone face down when you don’t use it.
Feel excited about this app? Does anyone think about installing this app on the phone with a broken power button? I did. I was thrilled when I found this app at first, thinking that I can use my Nexus 4 normally though the power button is broken. But then Dora reminds me, “Hey, so you need to make sure that your phone’s battery will never die.” That’s indeed true. But it doesn’t really matter. Not all of you suffer the same pain as me. Anyway, just give it a shot. And don’t forget to share with those whose power button is broken, may be a lifesaver
Gravity Screen - On/Off is available on Google Play for free. It also provides a pro version which will cost you $1.97.
Hello, I'm a newbie here and have had my Oppo for a few weeks or so, its on an O2 contract, not modded in any way and the English version. Two things, I did have a search but could not find anything.
Coming from an HTC where the FP sensor worked faultlessly I am finding the Oppo sensor works maybe 50% of the time first time. I registered four of my prints and it took several attempts to register my fingerprints in the first place and will often take several attempts to unlock the phone. It doesn't seem to help if the screen is forensically clean or a bit mucky and the same for my fingers. I know it has a stock screen protector and am tempted to remove this to see if it improves it. Anyone else had this issue? I do have face recognition set up and thankfully that usually works very well but in these current times I may be masked up so a fingerprint has to suffice and anyway sometimes its dark. It also seems to be an absolute dust magnet, I am permanently sweeping a little bit of dust around the screen.
Second thing, sometimes the percentage figure inside the battery is a beige colour and sometimes it's not, I don't think it's a setting as I'm not changing any settings in between and it can switch from beige to clear and vice versa, probably has a few days being beige then swaps to clear for a few days, has anyone else experienced this? See pic:

As an aside I have been using this case which is OK but not perfect, the main fault with it for me though is that you can't fit a dust cap in the USB socket, or rather you can but it's an absolute chore to try and get it out when you want to charge it as the case is quite chunky. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08C2JQBWZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Edit: I had power saving mode on which is why the battery was beige.
Same question about the fingerprint sensor.
X2 Pro on O² contract here too (it's unlocked not branded with O² btw). FP works flawlessly just like previous phones with under the screen fp I had. Why do u need dust cap? Mine is like new inside, I wash my phones under the tap from time to time. Keeps the port and speaker grills/mics like new. Good choice getting the X2 btw. I guess you got the B&O headphones too as gift from O².
Thanks for the replies, so I took the original screen protector off, no more ridiculous static dust build up at least, I've redone all my paw prints to see if that improves the FP sensor, immediate results seem to be showing an improvement but I will re-post in a week or so. I've always used a dust cap, just keeps the socket free from dust/detritus and also any cables you plug in free(er) from dust. Whilst I may be able to, personally I have no intention of ever washing it under a tap. There were no special offers from O2 unfortunately but then I wangled a bit off the monthly payment.
So a few weeks on and the FP sensor is no better, resigned to just accepting this phone doesn't have a great FP sensor, despite what others may think. It seems that some phones out there are learning to read a face with a mask but this one doesn't seem to be one of them.
I'll not be washing it under a tap that's for sure, further research into that tells me the phone is designed for waterproof mishaps but not cleaning. Each to their own though.
Hello guys, I'm happy to introduce you the new version about Extinguish 0.1.15... Although I want like that, but it seems that it's not so attracting when I release my Extinguish 0.1.5 here last time. I know the process is necessary for any app and it may causes by my description and the function of my app. But I still want some feedback. Placement is so lonely, right? Ok, go back to the app itself.
I sincerely introduce to you Extinguish, which is an app to let you control your screen power state for free. You may not understand just by saying that. Specifically, you can turn off your android device's screen but not put the system into sleep or lock, and the foreground application you are running now will not be suspended because the screen is off.
Why I use Extinguish?
You may be want to ask, "What's the point of that?" Now, let me show you what it can be used for.
Case 1: If you are playing a game like Arknights, you are required to play a mission for multiple times because of the materials. In this case, you don't need to actually operate the screen when you are waiting the mission complete. You can now use Extinguish to turn off your screen, and you don't have to worry about the screen consuming power during this time.
Case 2: If you are noting on your tablet when you are in class, and your tablet is set the lock password, you can use extinguish to turn your screen off temporarily without worrying and you can go back to your note by just one volume key clicking.
In addition, Extinguish's goal is to help you save electricity in these work forcing you to turn on the screen. This can reduce your power anxiety to a great extent. REAL. Because the screen almost take away your 30% battery life in your daily use.
How to install Extinguish? You can install it from Google Play
Extinguish - Apps on Google Play
Extinguish turn your screen off but keep your device wake.
play.google.com
, or you can also get it in github release
Releases · Moderpach/Extinguish_package
Extinguish Release. Contribute to Moderpach/Extinguish_package development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
.
How to make Extinguish run?If you are rooted, it's quite simple. Just install and start shizuku by root. Then authorize all permissions and just enjoy.
If you are not root, this can be slightly tedious. You are required to start Shizuku according to https://shizuku.rikka.app/guide/setup/. You can complete all of these without computer if you are above android 11. While you have to connect to a computer if you are under android 10 once when you reboot. After that, go the normal route, give the permissions and enjoy.
Extinguish is still developing. I will introduce new features such as timer in the future. And to be honest, I set a ad from admob in it to earn a bit money to have a meal. I thank you for your understanding and support.

If it actually turns off the screen, rather than blanking, then there is an interesting battery-saving option.
Is the touch layer also disabled?
What interaction will password locking by the system service cause?

For most of the devices, the touch layer will be disabled. The system won't go lock so you don't need to input password if you turn on your screen by clicking volume button. if you turn on your screen just by clicking power button twice, password will be needed. It's not a layer, it actually turn off the screen.
