Battery Percentage Colour And Fingerprint Sensor - OPPO Find X2 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello, I'm a newbie here and have had my Oppo for a few weeks or so, its on an O2 contract, not modded in any way and the English version. Two things, I did have a search but could not find anything.
Coming from an HTC where the FP sensor worked faultlessly I am finding the Oppo sensor works maybe 50% of the time first time. I registered four of my prints and it took several attempts to register my fingerprints in the first place and will often take several attempts to unlock the phone. It doesn't seem to help if the screen is forensically clean or a bit mucky and the same for my fingers. I know it has a stock screen protector and am tempted to remove this to see if it improves it. Anyone else had this issue? I do have face recognition set up and thankfully that usually works very well but in these current times I may be masked up so a fingerprint has to suffice and anyway sometimes its dark. It also seems to be an absolute dust magnet, I am permanently sweeping a little bit of dust around the screen.
Second thing, sometimes the percentage figure inside the battery is a beige colour and sometimes it's not, I don't think it's a setting as I'm not changing any settings in between and it can switch from beige to clear and vice versa, probably has a few days being beige then swaps to clear for a few days, has anyone else experienced this? As an aside I have been using this case which is OK but not perfect, the main fault with it for me though is that you can't fit a dust cap in the USB socket, or rather you can but it's an absolute chore to try and get it out when you want to charge it as the case is quite chunky. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08C2JQBWZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Edit: I had power saving mode on which is why the battery was beige.

Same question about the fingerprint sensor.

X2 Pro on O² contract here too (it's unlocked not branded with O² btw). FP works flawlessly just like previous phones with under the screen fp I had. Why do u need dust cap? Mine is like new inside, I wash my phones under the tap from time to time. Keeps the port and speaker grills/mics like new. Good choice getting the X2 btw. I guess you got the B&O headphones too as gift from O².

Thanks for the replies, so I took the original screen protector off, no more ridiculous static dust build up at least, I've redone all my paw prints to see if that improves the FP sensor, immediate results seem to be showing an improvement but I will re-post in a week or so. I've always used a dust cap, just keeps the socket free from dust/detritus and also any cables you plug in free(er) from dust. Whilst I may be able to, personally I have no intention of ever washing it under a tap. There were no special offers from O2 unfortunately but then I wangled a bit off the monthly payment.

So a few weeks on and the FP sensor is no better, resigned to just accepting this phone doesn't have a great FP sensor, despite what others may think. It seems that some phones out there are learning to read a face with a mask but this one doesn't seem to be one of them.
I'll not be washing it under a tap that's for sure, further research into that tells me the phone is designed for waterproof mishaps but not cleaning. Each to their own though.

acer s200 touch syntetizer (the clear plastic over the lcd)

Hi i have to change the touch panel due to a big scratch, anyone here know if i have to disassembly all the phone?Or else someone with a service manual?
My phone was out in the rain for a bit so my digitizer is all messed up. Only thing I can do is touch the bottons on bottom. Not much function in the touchscreen besides that. Have ordered a new digitizer and will hopefully get it by the weekend or next week. Can report back how it goes with the disassembly or have you already done yours? Please give a report on how to do it if that's the case.
I m still waiting for mine from hong kong.look s like someone else had changed the syntetizer in the forum, but i had no reply to my question
Ok. I guess we'll have to wait and see who gets his first. Whoever does though it would be nice with a report on how it went.
Hi i ve received the touch panel, but i tried to disassembly the phone, but i can not get the cover to open.I unscrewed the 5 screws on the rear but the cover is as strong as before.Have you ever tried to disassembly our phone?
And the touchscreen i received it s not the new one but the old engineering example,i think it s the same but i want to try the respone so i can give the seller the positive or negative feedback. The panel differ from the classic one for the acer logo on top right, not at the bottom center,and...there is the trasparent hole near the headphone for the front camera as you can see from this old sample picture

And this is mine
I read in the screen replacement forum. There are two more screws at the left and right sides of battery house.
Hope that helps. The guy in hongkong that sent me the digitizer sent it by registered air mail first but sent another one by EMS so hopefully i'll have it this week.
Ok i ve found the way by myself,it s not so difficult,i ve seen the two screws after...You have only to pay attenction to not force too much the plastics when you try to open the cover and when you try to detach the touch panel. The best way is to use a guitar plectrum and start to open from the bottom right, for the touch you have to go carefully. Now i ask in the forum if they need a guide with high res photos, because i ve taked pictures with my nokia n95
Well I would be really interested in seeing the pictures. Please do share. How's the new touchscreen working out ?
You can see my guide in the general section, maybe will be sticked. The panel is working good, but it seems a little less sensitive than the official oem one.Maybe the engineering sample is a little different. In plus the light from the touch keys is not diffused good, and i have an hole for the front camera, wich is not present in retail s200.But if you go to the guide you can see pictures
I have now changed my digitizer and thanks to your guide it went pretty smooth. Was done in about 10-15 mins. I got the oem one but the buttons on the bottom is diffuse as you said yours was. maybe i can move the white from the old one to make it nices. Probably won't bother though. Don't really find a difference in response from before the change.

NFC fix

Hello everyone. I don't know if it was discussed earlier but I was searching on xda and google and found a lot of questions about nfc but no exact answer. It seems to be a lot of people across the internet meet the problem with NFC being either greyed out or refusing to turn on at all if not on stock then rooted rom etc. I had a problem with nfc since I bought one with cracked screen on ebay and replaced the screen. A friend of mine was complaining about nfc and scratched lens on camera of the back frame. I ordered a new frame from international galaxy s3 and it didn't want to fit perfectly but nfc started to work. Before replacing the frame I tried to root/unroot the phone, restored again back to factory mode and replaced the battery but nothing worked. First test if it's going to work for you.
1. Remove battery back cover, battery, sim-card, sd card
2. Unscrew all the screws from the back frame and remove the frame.
3. Put the battery back, turn on the phone and test nfc without the frame.
If nfc started to work then your problem is in the frame. It seems to be verizon is using a different frame from other galaxy s3 models.
All you have to do is tape the contacts on the phone at the bottom:

}
And tape the contacts on the back of the frame as well so they don't short each other:
On the second picture you can see the difference of the contacts between frame from international (on the left) to verizon (on the right).
They are different and contacts shorting each other. International frame does not sit quite right and holes for battery clips are smaller also so the battery door does not properly close:
why would my nfc short out after rooting or flashing a rom

That I don't know. As I said I bought the phone broken and replaced the screen. NFC was working for a few days then every time I was turning it on it was in gray color (like disabled) but z-device showed me that nfc is in good working condition. While searching throw forums on google I found out that quite a few people did have the same problem. Most of them simply sent the phone back by the warranty. You can see that connectors are totally different for verizon version comparing to others. And it was working perfect when I switched the frame from international version but it just simply did not want to fit the right way. That's why I thought it would be nice to ask people who have the same problem if that would be a solution. Most of the time I read things like rooting from 4.1 makes this problem and rooting from 4.0 solves it.

Gap between metal frame and screen

Hi,
I have purchased an A750F yesterday evening. I noticed that there is a gap between metal frame and screen exactly at the power button and the gap's width is same as power button.I am able to slide in my nail or a piece of paper. Is it really worrying or anybody else have the same problem :?
I have no such a gap. You should return this phone to the store.

None of the electronics store in my country have a return/refund policy. Once the good is sold, the customer have to visit the Service Center for such issues. And the service center here also doesnt sign a DOA for that, they simply say that they will repair it, but do not provide a DOA.

Mine (black color) doesn`t have any gaps, I checked the four sides on every millimeter with thin paper, probably thinner than yours.
Also, the frame is not metal. It`s from polycarbonate, which is why the phone have great GPS and mobile signal reception.
Just found this in the User Manual of my phone :-
Sounds logical.
But still to be able to insert a nail? Damn.
Better keep it from dusty environment then.
Also visited the store to compare my unit with the live demo or display unit. And the display/demo unit also had this issue, I was able to insert my nail in the demo units exactly at the location of volume up, volume down and power button locations, however, the gap was a bit more at power button location. The sales executive told me that it might be a design of the phone like that so that the buttons function properly or there is an intentional gap to allow expansion of metal frame/polycarbonate frame without damaging the phone. Also, I noticed that no matter how long and think paper I insert into that hole, it stops going in after a bit, just like my S8 and A8+ which had exactly same issue (gaps at different location though, also in those cases the users at forum xda didnt had such gap but all demo units which I tested, had that issue in my city). I wasnt able to insert the nail in last two phones though because those didnt had that black thin plastic type thingy border, they were glass directly connected to the metal/polycarbonate frame.
Confirm, the same issue. Found out only after reading this post. Actually u can't see it, only when inserting something between screen and a frame in the power button area.

Exactly.
I checked mine using paper, but it has no GAP, even the edge of paper can't pass through it, maybe the variant is depends on the country,

Note 20 Ultra - Keyboard wildly inaccurate

I've had this phone since it came out. It's mostly been a miss for me. It's not the worst phone I've ever had (HTC Evo), but it is far from the best. The two things that are annoying me the most about it are the camera and its lack of macro abilities and the keyboard. I just can't type accurately on it at all. No matter how careful I am, half of the words I type are just completely wrong. This was not an issue on the Note 8 that I came from. So far, that's been my favorite phone.
Does anyone know of any way to increase the accuracy of the keyboard? I feel like if I could just calibrate it somehow, it would be better than the absolute pile of suck that it is right now.
Thanks
no idea but i find my self always hittinf the period instead of space bar

I do that. And I also hit the left shift button when trying for one of the letters close to it. This keyboard is the worst experience that I've had with a phone keyboard. It makes me want to toss the damned phone.
For a camera system smaller than a match box how much do you expect?
For macros, pan back into the focus range of the lense and even further back to get more depth of field. Brace the phone on something solid to avoid cam shake.
All lens have limitations.

I expected it to work as well as my Note 8 that had absolutely no problems with macro shots. Note8 is a much older phone that does a better job.

Not the same lens system. You need to work within it's capabilities assuming that it's working as designed... and that Samsung didn't drop the ball. A lot of dropped Samsung balls lately.
Not sure why the keyboard in so much trouble unless they changed the spacing... which I really hate.
That phone and the N10+ were the last good Samsung phones, so far. Think I'll stick with my 10+ though; I especially loathe Android 10 and 11.
Google excels at ball dropping... guess they're too busy rigging results
Samsung is also notorious for dropping essential features for a design cycle then adding them back, like the SD card slot.
It's infuriating... like dealing with a box full of rabid gerbils.
Update: I've started using the gboard keyboard and it is a lot better. I'm a bit nervous about using it because of google being able to collect all of my keystrokes, but it is so much better and more accurate than Samsung's keyboard could ever hope to be.
update your phone to the last firmware and open camera you see 2x on the screen like that

Question question about ending the speaker of the conversation

hi, i need help could the owners of the silver pixel 7 pro have a look into the slot of the loudspeaker for calls? because normally it will go crazy, do you have the entire filling in black or are there silver gaps as in the picture? I was looking for many videos from disassembling pixels as it should be and I got stupid. I am sending pictures of what I mean, you have to look at the right angle Thanks in advance for your response

Mine is all black, no "gaps".
So I thought that my Pixel is unique and now the question arises in connection with this factory "flower" will this loss of seals, fillings somehow affect the operation of the phone, e.g. water resistance? Report it under warranty?
Mine has the same effect as your speaker grill, but the darker lines are equal distances from the front camera punch out. Too even to be dirt or anything that would accumulate in a random manner. I wouldn't worry about it, personally.
If you're worries about the ip rating maintaining, use this app from time to time to make sure it's still good: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.waterresistancetester
I feel like you might have a hard time getting google to replace your phone for that. Might not hurt to at least inquire so you can have it documented that you reached out previously in the unlikely event that it causes issues. Good luck friend!

I fixed this tiny defect in my own way, using a marker that we use at work and a piece of paper, I painted the inside black a bit tedious job because you had to dot by dot at points but finally now it looks like God commanded. Before the procedure, I checked the tightness using the application, thanks a lot, I didn't even know such a thing existed.
I respect the dedication and it looks good! I love that app. I use it to make sure the seals are good from time to time and it gives good peace of mind.
I have no gaps but the sound is ok.
Maybe Google is experimenting with real buyers and one of them appears in the p8p...
