Hi all,
I've a Nexus 5, stock rom 4.4.4, rooted.
Since 3 or 4 days I have unwanted reboots. And today, my nexus powered off and didn't want to reboot.
Even I press the power button for a long time (more than a couple of minutes) , nothing happend.
The only thing I got, is when the device is plugged on usb charger : the nexus boot on the google logo then switch off and boot again on the google logo then switch off again and again and again....
I can't access bootloader or recovery...
Any ideas??? If the device is bricked, I just want to recover my. Is the flash memory could be recovered?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers
Please up !!
I need to recover my baby's pictures.....
I have exactly same problem on my Nexus 5 too. It dies right in my hands 2 days ago. I'm also not able to get even to the recovery, so I'm sending my device to RMA. Hopefully, I will get new unit or refund.

Yeah, but here, where do I live, we have a 2 year warranty for products, so I should be still covered, thankfully.
I can RMA my device too. So Google will send me a refurbished one. My problem is that I still can't recover my data.

AFAIK you can't do anything if you don't have access to fastboot/recovery/Android. Duplicating important contents should a rule for everyone.

Well, but that's not a Google problem, you should backup your phone data on regular basis. Next time, use for example a Google Photos app, which will automatically backup your photos for free.
I hate the title of this thread
try pressing both volume buttons and then pluggin in into your computer (via usb cable), see if it goes and stay at download mode
So I finally got my Nexus 5 back. I received refurbished unit, and feels so good to be back on rooted Android again (was suffering with stock HTC One M7 during RMA)

So I have a One S that is not hacked in any way, and I was doing an official update from HTC/T-Mobile to it when I lost internet connection. The phone powered down afterwards (acting like it had completed the update). Now I am unable to power it on at all. When I plug it in no light turns on, holding down the power button does nothing, and holding power down and volume down does not do anything. How might I be able to fix this. I looked through the forums but I haven't seen any one having the same problem with a non-hacked One S so I was not sure what I should do.
Any help would be great!
Thanks
If you aren't under warranty you are screwed.

Your phone bricked during an update. It's not that uncommon as doing a large update writes lots of important files. So maybe you got a bad download and here you are. Since you never unlocked you should just submit a warranty claim.
HTC phones come with a 1 year warranty. The phone hasn't been out for 1 year so you're good there.
The only problem is I bought it from a friend so T-Mobile wont do the warrenty because they say it has been used on another account prior to mine

There is still a manufactures warranty. Contact HTC not T-Mobile.
I got my Nexus 5 delivered(upgraded from a Ace s5830i!, hella difference) yesterday
I've got a red pixel in the middle of the screen that won't change.
It's barely a problem because of the fact it's really small on such high PPI.
It's just i don't like it it is there. This one is a rev_11.
The only thing i ever did was unlock the bootloader, put TWRP on it and install the SuperSU binary.
Anyone that can help me on this christmas day?
The only thing i can do is send it back to my subscription provider and get a rev_12 , but it will take several weeks to get it shipped back. So it will only be my last solution.
FYI, i'm willing to do anything i can without having to ship it back, atleast if it's reasonably safe to do so.(Incl. Factory resets, different roms, safe physical methods etc.. etc..)
Greetings,
BrianJ64
P.S. Merry christmas everybody!
You can try one of the many pixel fixer apps and let that run for a couple hours. If that doesn't fix it, send it back.
I had a green stuck pixel and had to RMA that one. Had the new phone within 3 days.

For some reason, the problem vanished after flashing stock using the factory image???
Maybe it got unstuck in download mode or boot loader mode

Hi guys,
I know that there is a problem with other LG G3 carriers that the device make restarts by its self.
I thought that my AT&T device is protected from that buti wrong.
The phone make self restarts i think one in 2-3 days.
I don't know why....
From my search in the NET i saw that this is the illness of this device.
There will be solution for that problem?
Hope yes....
Thanks
If your device randomly reboots then it is a factory defect and should be returned immediately! I did this with one of my old samsungs and it only took a couple of days to get a new one in the mail. Don't keep a lemon, get a new one while you can!

the problem is that i bought this device in US and i leave in israel so i cant send it to the factory. is there any software solution?
Has anyone had this issue and fixed it successfully?
Update1: I contacted LG and Amazon. LG walked me tru a process of a factory reset, however I couldn't do the process from the phone because it would reset too quickly, is there any way of doing it from a pc?
I also requested a refund or a replacement, with no luck so far, LG customer service is one of the worst so far I have dealt with, and Amazon pretty much washed their hands since it has been over 90 days from the purchase ( I bought my phone late on january)
Update2: LG has the worst customer support ever, they would just keep repeating their policies without fully understanding my situation, none support, or replacement, or refund given even when my guarantee expires next year
Update3: Idc if it deletes all my data, if anyone manages to come with a solution that brings my phone back to work I will love you forever
Have you tried flashing the factory image in fastboot?

I think your power button is stuck. If you have a case on take it off. Mash the power button a number of times. You could take it to a cell repair store and have then replace it.

(I don't speak 100% fluent english so I'm sorry for any mistakes!)
So, about 5 months ago I bought this used Nexus 5, I'm don't really remember but I think it was used for almost 1 year...
I never had any problem but a few weeks back it just started rebooting itself with no reason. I googled it and it happened to be a power button problem. I fixed that (just by tapping behind).
Now, 2 days ago (on Sunday) the phone just turned the **** off (it wasn't a battery problem because I remember that it was around 70%).
After that, the phone just didn't start anymore... Only when plugged in the wall, but it was looping forever on the Google logo screen.
So I googled it and it could've been the power button problem again, so I searched deeply and opened my phone (I followed some Youtube video..) and removed the power button (I mean, the plastic one) and that actually fixed the problem.
But after that the phone got stuck on the Google animation screen loop (Bootloop).
I thought about wiping out data e flashing image (I'm newbie at this) and I followed some videos (even posts from here, XDA).
But, for example, when I try to use the command "fastboot flash bootloader .... .img" but I receive a flash write failure error...
I can't do anything, It's not a cable problem or USB port (I tryed on multiples ports, both 3.0 and 2.0) and 3 different cables.
I also can't unlock this ****... If I use this command "fastboot oem unlock" it will unlock but I use any other command, it will just go back to "locked mode'.
Any help?
If the bootloader relocks when the phone is rebooted, the memory chip is damaged and can't be fixed. You will need to replace the whole motherboard unless you are very good at soldering a replacement chip.
Well, I just bought a new motherboard...

I bought it from Mercado Livre, it's a brazilian online store. The price was R$ 300, that's about 90 dollars.

A new Nexus 5 is around R$ 1,500 reais but I can't even find one anymore... It's out of stock everywhere.
So, I changed the motherboard.. Guess what, STILL NOT WORKING, what the ****?
It will turn on only If plugged in the charger... It shows the battery usage but nothing else...?
Could it be that there is something wrong with the battery or USB port?

Could it be? It's fully charged now... I can't even go to fastboot mode!!
Sounds like it could be an issue with the motherboard?

But it's a new one!
Have you considered that the power button could be one of the multiple issues causing this behaviour, meaning that its something else that's wrong also? If you put in a new board and the issue still exists and you bought it second hand maybe someone rooted the nexus at one point then incorrectly unrooted it in order to sell it. Maybe its still rooted and it was done incorrectly, so you should find out if it was rooted (boot loop and shutdown issues) are a big sign then a fresh flash to stock factory image done correctly should fix this for you. Nexus 5 phones are notoriously easy to root and also a fresh factory image flash can usually solve these issues. My final words of advice is If it turns out that it was ever rooted or still is do your research and flash a stock factory image. I could walk you through it but xda has videos that will save me the typing.
Good luck with your issue.

I opened it, unplugged the battery cable, plugged again and the phone started normally (Home screen, everything working fine)
But after a few seconds, it just turned off again ... what the ****? ****ing power button again?
I say battery. Repeat what you did and try it while connected to a charger.
Removed the power button (at least the black one that goes outside)... It's working now, but I have to turn it on using some tiny thing
