[Q] Nexus 5 2015? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys I am really interested in your opinion for the new Nexus 5 2015 version. Would you want it and would you buy it? Personally I would be delighted if google makes another Nexus 5 with updated specs and fingerprint sensor with USB type C so it has fast charging like S6 has. The design can be the same, just little bit thinner and more "modern". What are your opinion guys? Please don't hesitate to post your opinion as it matters. Maybe if google sees this thread they change their mind and make another beloved N5
Here is one amazing concept made by Miqdal Abdul Halim

"Concept" renderings and projections are a pointless waste of time. Exynos 7420? It's already been stated that it'll have a Snapdragon 808. Dual front-facing speakers? I'd welcome it, but LG hasn't made any phone with that yet, so I'd doubt that. AMOLED? Unlikely. It'll probably be the same screen they put in the G2. I also wouldn't be surprised if all the buttons were on the back.
But yeah, I'm definitely interested in this new Nexus 5. As long as the pricing is more like the old Nexus 4/5, and not the 6, and the camera doesn't suck.
If I were to cave in to all this fanciful wanting and wishing that pervades this "concept" nonsense we're always inundated with every time a new flagship is rumored, I'd hope for a microSD slot. Android M apparently will once again have the ability (without root) to move apps to external storage, meaning we don't have to pay unreasonable amounts of for storage upgrades simply because we want to play Asphalt 8 and Game of Thrones on the same device and have enough space left to take a few pictures.

What happened to the Sony Clie?

I can remember back in the day when I first set my eyes on the UX50. What a beauty I thought and even now, 6 years on, I still look at it and think what if they had continued the line.
I thought the clam-shell design was very functional with its swivel screen and camera. Everything on it just seemed so right. Imagine how one would look now with the technology of this day and age. A big bright OLED screen filling out the front of the device, great graphics, blistering speed with a slim form factor and space for a full sized physical keyboard etc.
I really believe they made a mistake when they announced that they would discontinue the device. If they were to make a new similar device I know for sure that I be one of the first to snap it up.
So what do you guys think of a new PDA/phone coming out with a clam-shell, swivel screen action design?

The first pictures of what we are expecting to be the LG Nexus (LG-E960) appeared giving us a glimpse of what Google has in store for November. Many of you were quick to point out the case surrounding it that seemed to be some sort of a dummy box, meant to disguise the device. Previous rumors had stated that the device actually looked more like a Galaxy Nexus in shape and size.
LG Nexus phone that the internet can’t stop talking about, and according to an XDA user, this is that same phone. He hasn’t said much about it’s origin other than a “random source” gave it to him and that it seems like a prototype.
As we can see from the pictures, it’s running stock Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and carries the codename Mako. In the past, Nexus devices all hid under fish names until they were released, so this at least looks good for the sake of this being a Nexus. The shape and styling are as plain black as you can get, but it does have on-screen navigation keys, something Google introduced to smartphones with the Galaxy Nexus.
Other than that, we have a couple of side shots that show a volume rocker and power switch on opposite sides of one another. We can see a camera with a flash on the back side and an LG boot animation (which is odd if this is a Nexus).
From the About screen, we can see that the device is running JellyBeanMR1 and goes by the codename Mako, just like the device from earlier. The camera on the back isn’t branded with 8MP or 13MP, but we are expecting it to be one or the other, just like in the two Optimus G variants..
What do you guys think? Liking? Hating?
Designed ugly (((

Hello friends. You may be aware of the Next gen Nexus 5 is manufactured by LG and recently in NEWS.
This is really unbelievable to see that the Next gen Nexus 5 has scores 85,530 in AnTuTu benchmark results.
See here for more info:
Google Nexus 5 (2015) AnTuTu benchmark result
As per some sources the highest ever AnTuTu was scored around 55k and was on a Samsung Exynos 7420.
Although the SoC of the latest Nexus 5 is not known but rumors says that this could be the next gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.
Share your thoughts.
Honestly, if this is true, don't expect the next nexus to be even close to a budget phone like the original n5 was.

Yeah definitely this.
Also, I am offput by the Nexus after my nexus 4 and all of the people I know that had them. 2 years and the phone just starts to capitulate, turning off constantly despite the battery being charged and the screens break way way too easily (1 foot drop onto lovely soft carpet :crying.

Zenpad S8 great hardware at a good £££

I decided to purchase the 2gb ram version of the zenpad S8,the 4gb ram isn't available in UK .....yet....
The 2k display is gorgeous especially when watching a 5gb MKV files like The Avenger's on it,smooth and not stuttering. 32 gig on board and a slot for a micro SD card is a great bonus .
Hardware wise is quite solid ...thin..light ,compared to my aging N7 feels premium.
Unfortunately the software is super bloated and I was forced to disable and unistall as much as I could to make the tablet a bit more lively.
For the £200 price I think is a great buy ,the hardware as a lot of potential, I like the new type c charging port a lot,no NFC isn't a big deal in my opinion.
If the xda ROMs developers jumps on it with creating custom ROMs this tablet should fly .
And let not forget the front facing speakers.... They sound great.
Any questions please be free to ask.

So,I have a Tab S 8.4 and I wanted to know if I should get it or not. I'll get the 4GB one though, how is the battery life and gaming performance of your tablet? I use my Tablet way more than phone. Thank you

Games run good ,battery last me all day between the usual browsing... Social network apps....and video playing ..,
Like I said a lot of bloatware that need to be disabled, only running 5.0 so battery could be better if on a custom stock lollipop rom or marshmallows.
Let's hope Source Code gets released.

And I will give you honest answer: Its all depend on person who take a picture. :]
Its not a joke, you can have great picture made using even old Sony Ericsson K800i or Nokia N95 because its all depend on person who make it: knowledge of framing, setting up lighting, and most important aspect that most of people dont take in to the account: post-processing.
Yes, editing image after taking it is something normal and SHOULD be made. If would need some really good eye and hand and knowledge of your camera to take perfect picture without editing it later.
Thanks for the replies gents, I ended up buying a note 5 and I'm very happy (old phone) but the eis/ois in video is exceptional.
Seems a great friendly sub forum also
I compare mine to my wife phone galaxy s7 edge, and the p9 bit s7 easily with camera shots especially in light condition, and also in low light condition when using the flash
