2 weeks ago, I broke my nexus 5 screen.
Went to replace it, took it home and everything worked correctly.
After 2/3 days it showed me no service. Waited a whole day but still nothing.
This are the things I tried to restore network service:
-factory reset
-cm12.1 installed
-new modem flashed
-wiped cache
-another factory reset
At least, after alla this things, it changed from "no service" to "emergency calls only" and the first 2 minutes that I turn it on, it gives me signal, but nothing works.
Any suggesions on what I can do next?
Thanks everyone for the help

I've had my triumph about 2 months and it worked great til now. But last night I turned my triumph off and back on, and as soon as it booted up, it asked me to activate again. But I was still able to make phone calls out. I checked with virginmobile and they said my phone is fully activated and gave me the procedure to edit my activation to get it activated again. I went through that procedure and the phone rebooted, but it still asks me to activate. When I click activate on the phone it says "searching for network 1 2 3" then says error and asks me to call virginmobile. I'm still able to use the internet and make phone calls out so I think it's a problem with the phone, not my virginmobile service. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
My Dad has the same problem with his. Try a factory reset.
Factory restore totally worked! here's the instructions I used https://motorola-global-portal.cust...a-triumph---master-reset-/-factory-data-reset
if you leave for few minutes it disappears by itself. no need to go thru activation process.
it lasted over 24 hours for me
Mine started doing this after I used Titanium Backup to remove some of the stock bloatware apps. I left the Activation app alone. As soon as I rebooted, and now every time I boot the phone, it asks me to activate. I just hit 'Home' and then clear the notifcations. It doesn't come back again until I reboot.
Mine started doing this today. I wonder if they did some kind of update. I have not installed any apps in a few weeks. I also reboot every am due to a bad memory drain.
Sent from my MOTWX435KT using XDA App
I just got a G2 about a month ago and all was well for a few weeks. Everything is stock, but it is encrypted (required by my company). At some point, my data connection stopped working (after teh D80020y update???). WiFi is fine, but no 3G, 4G, etc. I went through all the basic troubleshooting steps including a factory reset of the phone with no success.
I then took the phone to a repair center (AT&T) and they replaced the phone. As I left the repair center, data connection was working (verified by accessing Google home page in the browser). I proceeded to configure the phone (encrypt, email, a few apps) and apply the latest software update (D80020y) and now data no longer works again. I've tried the troubleshooting steps again with no success. One time when I toggled the "mobile data" check box, the phone rebooted on its own.
Help?
This is a new problem ive had since last night. Last night, since i turned on wifi and then attempted to play the family guy game... i thought it was the game that was messed up. I went to play it, phone froze, fair enough, held down the power button to do a reset... it booted, but as soon as i put in my security pattern, it froze on that pattern. Pulled battery out, and put back in, and STILL froze on pattern.....
ended up taking the SD card out, getting in enough to turn off wifi.... froze. reset again. went into recovery and cleared cache, froze shortly after i put my pattern in
it was just rediculous!!
i hadnt tried the wifi again until just now.... i wanted to go into the store to leave a bad review for the game... but it seems to be for some reason my phone. the store was half way into loading and it froze.... so i rebooted, it froze on lock... rebooted again... managed to get the wifi off and it seemed okay, but i restarted it thru the actual menu for good measure and it seems okay now.
but the question is, WHY???
same ROM, same phone, nothing new downloaded in about 3 weeks or so...... i was just trying to play a game over wifi..... normally i keep wifi and data off with just network connection for calls and texts.... but ive never had any problems wtih it freezing up for just toggling the wifi before, this is a new problem with nothing new on the phone as the cause. I hadnt even connected it to my PC in a week or so, for it to pick something up via USB that was bad.....
what can i do??
I would really appreciate help on this matter.... nothing new on my phone.... it still freezes after the wifi radio turns on...
the most recent time my home screen froze but i was still able to pull down the bar and turn off the wifi radio before a total freeze..... had to reset it again......
it works fine until wifi turned on since last night... no new updates, no new games.... no new anything so im REALLY confused!!!
Im trying restoring to a previous backup i have from CWM..... un fortunately from a year ago so its gonna take me forever to get things back the way i had them...
if this doesnt work i really dont know what else to do....
tried wiping the cache and dalvik cache, and still ntohing....... i wanted to get in to clear out some of the wifi network names... but you need wifi on... and well guess what happens.... friggen phone.....
OMG i am so flaming angry now.... ITS STILL HAPPENING!!!!
did backup, seemed fine so i reinstalled everything i wanted.... was fine yesterday and the night before wth wifi.... now its doing the SAME GODDAMN THING!!!!
i could really REALLY use some help with this!!!
Greetings,
My wife's S6 will not complete the activation of advanced calling since moving to MM. I'm not sure if she had it turned on while on Lollipop. Nonetheless, she was complaining of not having data while on call. I advised her on how to turn on advanced calling. She followed the steps and the phone behaved as if it was going to activate the feature. However, after rebooting, it still shows that it is in the process of activating the feature and the menu options under "advanced calling" are "greyed out".
Yesterday, I cleared the system cache to see if that would eliminate the issue. After rebooting, I went in to the advanced calling menu to find that I had the option to "activate advanced calling". When I selected it, the phone responded with a message stating that this feature was already active on her line and then returned to the screen like before where the options are "greyed out" and it is trying to turn on advanced calling.
Still no data while on call.
Thoughts? Suggestions? REALLY don't want to do a factory wipe, unless absolutely necessary.
I have the exact same problem on my S5. Did you find a solution? I tried to wipe cache and dalvik cache, also restarted the phone without the SIM card as a post suggested but after reinserting the SIM I get the same problem back. I also chatted with a Verizon rep who just told me it sometimes takes a little time to update.
I don't mind a factory reset so much, but as long as it fixes the problem otherwise I would have done it for nothing.
Thanks for any help with this, I finally took the plunge to marshmallow from kitkat for WiFi calling, but I can't even get it enabled!
I never officially found a solution. However, with the last software update (a couple weeks ago), advanced calling now works. Advanced calling on my own SGS6 decided to stop working after the latest update, though. I had to wipe cache and reboot a couple of times for it work keep working. All seems well, now.
Thanks, I'll try wiping cache a few times, rebooting and reactivating Advanced Calling and see if that helps. I'll report back if it works or if I find another solution.
I also contacted Verizon again and the agent that helped me took off Advanced Calling and re-added it, but I still can't activate it on my end. I know she did do something because the call forwarding to my Google Voicemail stopped working after she re-added all the features so it seemed to reset all the features on my line but it didn't help with activating Advanced Calling.
You might try backing up your phone with SS, factory wipe, then restore. It's not the best solution, but it might be your only hope.
I figured it out and hope this might help anyone else with a similar problem. After I upgraded to MM, I froze a lot of apps using Titanium Backup including "Support & Protection 4.0.4" but it turns out after defrosting this app, the HD activation happened after about a minute! A post in another thread mentioned he had the same problem and defrosting "Verizon Login" worked for him, so if anyone has a similar problem then you might check out your frozen apps because one of them might be needed for the feature to activate.
This is strange but I occasionally have a problem where this happens. What I have found fixes it on a rooted phone is you backup the settings storage app with titanium backup then restore the data from the backup you just made then reboot. For some reason this fixes it for me. I know this is an old thread but hope this info helps someone else having this issue.
Hi All,
I did a factory reset to solve a problem, problem solved, but somethong happened to the mobile data.
Data connects, shows the connection, nothing comes through. No browsing, no data on facebook, nothing...
Wifi is working fine.
The data is not completely dead. Once in a while an app gets updated if I keep it on. Sometimes, it gets connected. But most of the time it does not.
Troubleshooting done so far:
1. Did Factory Reset agin and again.
2. Changed the SIM with another one, new one is also not connecting. My SIM is working on other mobile, nothing wrong with the SIM.
3. Reset all APNs, did manual APN settings.
4. Removed theSIM kept for 1/2 hour and put it back in.
5. Checked all setting that can possibly affect anything.
Do anybody have similar experience? Please help.
I am on Marshmallow, latest version of the firmware.
